February 22, 2011 Bob's Forecast: Winter Storm Falling ApartPosted: 06:09 AM ET
Like Fergie and a royal wedding, northern New England got snubbed yesterday. I think they are happy about it though, b/c I’m sure they are sick of the snow! Most of the snow fell to their south. The winter storm that threw about 3-6” snow from NYC to Philly and Baltimore is moving east and falling apart now, but light snow is still hanging around PA, NJ, MD, and DE this morning but I expect it to be gone by this afternoon. More light snow is falling under a weak impulse near Chicago, and the WI/MI/IL snow will head to IN and fall apart today as well. I think there’s enough snow and wind to see minor delays at the major airports around the region, so I’ll update those on the show. Skip to the south, and I’m watching some light rain near AL, GA and the Carolinas along with dense fog in South FL. The middle of the country is quiet, but more snow and rain is falling over the NW. A series of storms will head in off the Pacific over the next few days, and there are winter storm warnings and watches for ID, WA, and OR. I’ll show you the projected snowfall through Thursday.
