Merry Christmas Eve, everybody (I’m not much for the whole P.C. movement). If you are on the roads for a trip through the MW, be ready for some slick spots. That CA energy is now producing snow and some sleet in MN, IA, MO, IL, WI and IN. There are winter weather advisories for a big patch, so I’ll have that right off the bat for you. It’s heavy rain and storms in TX, OK and AR where the warmer air is sitting, and the whole schmear is headed East. Who sees snow on Christmas Day? Looks to me like a chance for the OH Valley, and maybe some SE cities like Charlotte and Atlanta. Lots of things have to come together, but we shall see. The rain is coming back in the West. It’s currently happening in the NW, but it will slide down the coast to the Bay Area by tomorrow afternoon, and brush through Southern CA overnight, and into NV/UT Sunday. Unlike the storms before, I think this storm speeds through and doesn’t drop nearly as much rain or snow. Keep your fingers crossed for the flooded out areas. More wind for the NE today, and I think that translates into short delays for flights. I’ll update those on the show too. It’s been a fun year for me working on our show, and I will see you guys again soon. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Posted by: Meteorologist Bob Van Dillen |
