Bob's Half-Marathon Training Blog

Posted: 10:51 AM ET

Bob after a 10-miler. Cold, but feeling good.

Hey everybody, this is the week of training I have been fearing.
The only thing that is getting me through this week is knowing it’s all for a great cause, raising funds for the Crohn’s and Colitis foundation of America. You can help me by clicking on this link.
Anyway, the race is the first Sunday in December in Las Vegas. I get to emcee the dinner the night before the race at the Mandalay Bay, which is always fun. I need to get some jokes going, ala Don Rickles.

This week shapes up like this:

Tuesday: 5 miles fast

Wednesday: Nine 400 yard sprints (2 minute jog in between them)

Thursday: 3 mile run

Friday: 3 mile run

Saturday: Rest. Oh, except entertain the company we have coming over this weekend.

Sunday: 15 K. That is the killer. That’s 9.3 miles as fast as I can run it.

Anyway, still looking forward to seeing everybody who makes it to my fundraising happy-hour at Ri Ra’s Irish pub in Atlanta. It’s Nov. 19th, 5:30 pm to 11 pm. Free Apps, raffles, good times.
Later!

I'll go with Bob on his 1/2 Marathon.... now I need a little rope to hold onto when he pulls me on my Skateboard :)

You go - Bob. My daughter had a baby on October 13, 2009. After he was born, she decided that she definitely wanted to do something about her health. So she took a running class, joined a running club, lost 85 pounds and on October 30, 2010, she ran a Marathan (Ridge to Bridge in NC). She is an amazing young worman who inspires by example - not just to the children and youth that she serves as Minister to, but her entire family and all who know her.

Just wanted to say Thank YOU!!! I have suffered from Crohn's disease for 19 years and had countless surgeries. Raising awareness and money for research is the key to a cure. I was blessed enough to be able to walk this year in the Peoria Take Steps for Crohns & Colitis walk in Peoria Il.. Our Team "Love for Lisa" raised $6000!! Thank you for supporting all of us who suffer daily with this terrible disease.
