Bob Van Dillen's Thursday national forecast

Posted: 05:34 AM ET

Hey everybody. Here’s the Thursday deal:

I’m watching the cold front in the NE produce a line of rain and some thunder in PA, NY, all the way to New England this morning. Not severe, but the rain and breeze will most likely affect NYC/Philly/DC and Boston airspace later. Watch for some short delays.

Other than that, there is still the storm across the Rockies producing snow in MT, WY,CO, and into the Dakotas later. There are winter storm warnings around the region, so I’ll show you that business too.

Interesting note too, the entire state of NM has a red flag warning, no outside burning. Winds will be around 50 mph at times, and it is still very dry. Just a heads up.

I’m up in the new CNN weather center now, on a different floor. Sounds great, except all my HLN weather machines aren’t synching up real well yet. I’m like Apollo 13 up here with malfunctioning equipment. Somehow I’m gonna make it back to Earth though. I have found that the machines respond to a size 12 shoe.

I could use that size 12 on one of my teenagers! Hope your machines respond better than my kids do! LOL
