My legs are barkin'

Posted: 11:54 AM ET

Meteorologist Bob Van Dillen

It’s just 5 weeks away, and my legs are barkin’. The Las Vegas Rock ‘N Roll marathon/half marathon is December 6th! I am the honorary chairman for the Crohn’s and Colitis foundation of American, the official charity for this race.

I love being part of Team Challenge, the group of people that are racing and raising money for the foundation. You can check them out at ccteamchallenge.org.

Many of the team members have Crohn’s or colitis, yet they power through it and train for the race anyway. These guys are the true heroes in my opinion.

I just ran 9 miles while being healthy Sunday for training and I feel like a bus hit me this morning.

This is the 3rd half marathon of the year for me, and I think I am done running for a while after this. I love and respect the people that have these diseases so much that I can suck it up for one last this year, it’s the least I can do!

Wish me luck, and in a few weeks I’ll solicit for some jokes to tell while I MC the event at the MGM in Vegas.

No way Bob! There are 28 of us gals from Annapolis running too!!! Are you doing the full or the half? I did it back in 2007 when it was the Zappos (not Rock n Roll) FABULOUS!!!!

Robin, yes, Jennifer was so right when she said everyone should see your trendy boots this morning: they were très chic in more ways than one !!! You have the clothes and accessories always working to your beauty and charisma, our "Morning Sunshine" gal !!! By the way, Jenn, you were also very spiffy-looking–as always–yourself this morning !! Now to our man, Bobby: thank-you very much for posting a new blog for us, which (thank the good Lord) didn't include a new chapter of the bizarre Balloon Boy and his Twilight Zone-family lifestyle. Amen to that scenario . . . maybe you can stash them in your jokes file as you host the banquet dinner in December at the world-famous Las Vegas strip !! The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America is such a very worthwhile cause–with so many high-spirited, motivated individuals working to spread the word for the research and donations needed for this little-known-about disease. Yes, Bobby, all these participants are themselves everyday heroes in our eyes, also ! Bobby, the nine miles for training is nothing for you . . . as we all know you are a real-true terminator at heart and soul !! Thank-you again for sharing your sincere thoughts about this cause–which is very important to you. We look so forward to your next blog entry !! All these indviduals are in our thoughts and prayers always. Robin, have a great week; remember: we love Ya, our Ohio girl !!! Robin's Follies.

Yeah, Bobby, it's just little old us again . . . sorry to be posting on your big-race-in-Las-Vegas blog, but we really want to get this message to our Number One girl, Robin !! Robin, we were very surprised and saddened to learn of your husband's, Mr. Tim's, back surgery ! You are both in our thoughts and prayers daily. We know that he will have a very fast and speedy recovery–as he has you (his special girl) for all the love and support he needs to get back on his young feet
again !! Please tell him this for us; also, "Happy 16th Wedding Anniversary ! " to you two young lovebirds ! We know from reading your "Morning, Sunshine! How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It, Too" that the special day is on Friday, November 6th !! We hope this sincere greeting helps both of you to feel better ! Thanks, Bobby, for the rented space. We love Ya, our Ohio girl !!! Robin's Follies.
