Bob Van Dillen is back on the run!

Meteorologist Bob Van Dillen

What's up everybody. I was asked again to be the honorary chairmen for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America's half marathon.

This time it's the Las Vegas Rock and Roll half/full marathon in early December. I was told I didn't have to run this time if I didn't want to, but that would be weak on my part. The people that run with these diseases are tough as nails, and I want to try to be just as strong. It isn't easy, but I may be able to beat my record time of 1 hour 49 minutes for the half marathon.

I'm truly honored to be asked to chair the event again, I guess they liked me this past summer when I did the Napa to Sonoma event! This time I get a crack at MC-ing at the MGM on the strip. That's right, I'm playing Vegas baby!

I have to run a ton to get shaped up, the long run this Sunday is 8 miles. Man, that seems like forever. Wish me luck.

Robin, a picture of royalty dressed in blue this morning–a true "Morning Sunshine" moment !!! Well, Mr. Bobby, we seem to remember you saying after your Californian run event this past summer that you were going to pass on the next run in Nevada . . . but, you have the Brett Favre spirit in you saying "I'm back !!". (LOL !!! ) Like the old Nancy Sinatra song says: "These boots (legs) were made for walking (running), and that's what they will do ! "; pretty soon, these legs will make it to the finish line for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America !!! This song verse applies to you, Bobby, and all the beautiful, spirited individuals running for this much-researched and -funded disease. Congratulations on being
named honorary chairman again–evidently, you are the man who can handle it all with no problems !! You failed to mention if your loving wife, Ali, will be running the half-marathon event with you . . . if not, we know that she will be accompanying you to the famous Vegas strip !!! Because we all know what goes on in Vegas will stay in Vegas !! (LOL !! ) We look so forward to reading your blogs as you prepare to train for this special run !! At least, you will not be sweating as much as the last run–be sure to eat a lot of pasta for strength and endurance !! Thank-you, Bobby, for including us and all your viewers in this latest dream of yours !! Have a great day, Robin; we love ya, our Ohio girl !!! Robin's Follies !!!

Hello Bob, just wanted to let you know I watch you each morning. What you are doing is an honor and best wishes on your run. You will do great with the MC-ing thing also. You talk fast!! Must be that Jersey language. Don't forget to cover the central plains sometimes – we are watching!!

Keep up the great job you are doing. I enjoy the camaderie between you and Robin. Thanks for HLN.

Great job Bob. You and Rafer look to be in great shape. I remember the show where you showed us your "guns". Let me know your workout routine. I still think we need to see Rafer and you without the shirts.

Have a great race. It is a great cause to raise money for these diseases

It figures that you'll be in Vegas 3 days after I leave! Had I known you were going to be there on Dec 6, I would've extended my vacation to see you run. Good Luck Bobby – still love ya!!!!

Nice Rod. Classy. The guy is running for a charity on his own time and you pick on him. And who cares what you ( a person that can't do it yourself) think about how Bob is 'diong' the weather anyway? Pfft...yeah, that about sums it up. Great job Bob!

Robin,
I wish to comment on the family who sued the Louisville bat company.
Although it is monumentally tragic that this family lost their son, the bat company is not to blame, this was an unfortunate accident and they should not be entitled to a settlement. They let their son play the game knowing there could be risks and most likely encouraged him in the game, as good parents do, but now to sue the company that made the bat? Are they going to sue the batter and the school as well as the coaches, what about the municipality that owns the field? The blame could be far spread when you think about it. If the money wasn't the reason to sue, then start a petition to the company to have a warning lable on the bats, have the parents sign a waiver absolving the school, coaches and oppsing teams of all blame for any injuries or death from playing that sport(whatever it is). Boxers families could sue Everlast for the gloves being to hard, footballs to pointy, basketball hoops too high, it could go on and on!
