After viewing what GM is keeping, and what they are letting go. I'd like to say this. Based on my driving experience of both American, and vehicles from other countries. GM didn't really learn a darn thing from the past years. I've been driving since I was of age (about 16, currently 69 years old). GM has been over producing trucks & SUV's for a number years. What would bring their sales back would have been dropping GMC, and specialize in producing a better pickup truck & SUV against their competitors. Instead they are going to continue down the same road. As far as keeping the Buick, it might be a seller in China. But a couple of years back my wife and I had a couple car rentals. One a Buick, and the other a Taurus. As far as I was concerned neither one of them were worth a dime. They were both uncomfortable to drive, and hard to get in & out of. I would never buy either of these vehicles. Another rental was a Ford Escape, and the only thing I saw against it was that Ford should have looked a little closer at Toyota's RAV4 at the time, they just might have hit it on the button.Another bad mistake around the same time we had a Jeep Liberty with a V-6. Our 4Runner with a V-8 gets better MPG than the Jeep??? For our driving needs give me a Toyota. I think it will be some years before the old Big Three can catch up to world standards that have already been set by new leaders in the automotive industry. AIG is asking permission of the politicians to distribute bonuses because the politicians are the ones who gave them the right in the first place. Check the record. The people of this country should be mad as hell at those who offered our tax money up in the first place. The US Congress not AIG. Check the initial AIG bailout. Come on.
