Throngs of Michael Jackson fans are pouring in to Los Angeles from around the country, and the world, ahead of today’s public memorial.

A fan signs a Michael Jackson poster covered in messages outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles Monday.

The service begins at 1 p.m. ET at the Staples Center downtown. More than 1.6 million people registered for free tickets to what could be the biggest celebrity send-off of all time. A total of 8,750 people were randomly selected to get two tickets each.

It’s not just the crowds, today’s memorial will be a star-studded event as well. It’s expected to feature singers Mariah Carey, Usher, and Stevie Wonder. Among some of the other celebrities participating – Jennifer Hudson, John Mayer, Martin Luther King III and Reverend Al Sharpton.

For those who don’t attend, about 50 theaters around the country – from Washington, D.C. to California – are planning to broadcast the memorial live, for free.

You can get your complete coverage right here on HLN. Showbiz Tonight will broadcast live at 11 a.m. ET. Then watch coverage of the public memorial, hosted by our very own Robin Meade, beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET.

We want to know what you think about today’s event. What are your feelings about today's public memorial? How will you remember Jackson? Do you plan to watch today’s service, either in person – or on TV?

Share your comments … and we’ll be sure to read some of them on the air!

Seriously, I'm a little tired of the whole thing, I mean this is the same man who was brought up on charges for CHILD MOLESTATION right? I'm a little surprised Nancy Grace isn't going to town with this. I know he wasn't convicted but come on he pretty much paid off the family's. I that doesn't say guilt what does. Why don't people understand that the children he committed improper acts with will always be affected by his actions, and one day may end up like him, with a kiddy ranch, "childhood" issues and Peter Pan night. Don't get me wrong I sympathize for his family and their loss, but just as much as I would for someone who got the chair for molesting kids. Since when does becoming a celebrity make your wrong doings go away? I will always remember MJ as a "Smooth Criminal." Support your troops, mourn the soldiers who die every day, yet no one knows because there is no fame in fighting for your country.

I am truely disappointed at the world for grieving and honoring a child molester. It seems money and talent out weigh morality and our children.

Michael Jackson, 1958-2009

MJ finally free…
I see you running laughing and giggling…
You never did fit in,
even though you have tried…
The kid in you just wouldn’t die…
Music became your expression…
As poetry became mines…
In this life, I will never get to meet you,
or cross your path…
I thought one day I would…
You die so forever young….
Why? We don’t know…
What is your message Michael?
What do you want us to know?
At 50, so forever young…
There must be a message,
why God took you so soon....
Family, friends, and fans,
will always think of you most high!!!
We love you MJ..
Go rest in peace…
God will take care of you…
Good night!

I just want this to be over with. The media spent to much time on this particular entertainer; give me the real news back!

jim b   July 7th, 2009 6:23 am ET

Like your guy AJ Hamer said " we need to look at the big picture". The big picture is Jackson was a drug user who thought it was acceptable behavior to sleep with other people's underage boys. Those ARE the facts, and IT dose deminish any other accomlishments you may think he is worthy of. KInd of like Clinton having "not sex" in MY Whitehouse. Somehow you at CNN want to give them a pass on all that.

chrissy in CT   July 7th, 2009 6:24 am ET

With all respect several of us on Fubar are "moonwalking" for michael as our default pics for the entire day. I hope that he is now somewhere in peace and cannot see the spectacle that is presenting itself even in the wake of his death. He will never be forgotten by me.

Daniel   July 7th, 2009 6:25 am ET

Michael Jackson was an amazing Entertainer and performed like no one else has before on Stage. I feel as though this 'Public Memorial' is a great way to pay your final respects to Michael; I just hope that they do not 'display' his body for a viewing. I do not think that Michael would want his fans to see and/or remember him in a casket...Remembering his performances, dances, songs, is the way any great Entertainer, such as him, would want to be remembered. Not by giving so many fans a view of his lifeless body.

Dorothy Patrick   July 7th, 2009 6:29 am ET

Michael Jackson will surely be missed. His life was both successful and tragic but it does give leave to Mr. King to smear his name and image.
Who is any sleazier than Republican politicians? Only snakes are lower. Why isnt' he degrading Sanford whose "soul mate" is his mistress instead of his wife?

mail_larrym1   July 7th, 2009 6:30 am ET

Peter King and the Republican HATE CREW should ask themselves; "WHY" are people ALL OVER THE WORLD celebrating and moaning the life of Michael Jackson? People in China, Japan, Europe, Africa, etc. Yes, he was the greatest entertainer ever–but the real reason is the HEART AND LOVE HE SHARED WITH THE WORLD. NO OTHER ENTERTAINER HAS EVER RAISED SO MUCH MONEY FOR CHILDREN, POOR PEOPLE AND CHARITIES ALL OVER THE WORLD, than Michael Jackson. "We are the World" was, and remains more than a great song and a testament to his musical genius–but more importantly it still raises money to help people all over the world. The man was a contributor to over 37 charities–WHAT HAS PETER KING DONE OR CONTRIBUTED BESIDES "HATE" AND "FEAR" TO THE WORLD??? This is WHY Michael Jackson is being CELEBRATED ALL OVER THE WORLD. MILLIONS WILL MORN, MILLIONS WILL CELEBRATE BECAUSE THIS GREAT ENTERTAINER INSPIRED AND HELPED MILLIONS.

tear drop   July 7th, 2009 6:31 am ET

At the age of seven, my family and I took a trip to Disney Land. The trip had been sponsored by the Make a Wish Foundation, as my brother was terminally ill, and this was his last wish. The trip took place during the week of my brother's birthday, and when my family and I arived back at our hotel, the room was filled with baloons, presents and the biggest birthday cake I'd ever seen, all curtisy of Michael Jackson.
Thank you Michael, and may peace be with you always.

Richie McGhee   July 7th, 2009 6:31 am ET

To the family first, I say; Michael is here with us. You must believe! To all the haters out there; first off, I hate acknowledging you, but this time you went too far! For Michaels sake I won't be cruel as I want to; but, you all will be sorry! It's a [fact] that Micheal did more to help mankind, than mankind, himself! WHAT have you done? START with "The Man in the Mirror", it's not too late to "Make that Change"! Furthermore, you all are the first to jump on the dance floor when you hear the "Beat It" bells ring. We'll to me, Miichael was much more than his music! Michael is and always will be my love, hope, dreams, and my very first boyfriend! Thank you Michael.

keia h.   July 7th, 2009 6:32 am ET

My heart shattered 1000 times when I heard of Michaels death and I am mourning him as if he was a beloved brother. Michael was a beautiful soul and man. A bigger than life entertainer and humanitarian whose genius was and will always be the soundtrack of our live.

Axel   July 7th, 2009 6:46 am ET

Now, don't get me wrong, his music from the 70's and the 80's, but it got really bad in the 90's. His music was great. As for today, this memorial is nothing more than a freak show for a freak. It's a shame that this is overshadowing Farrah and her long struggle with cancer. Even when Elvis passed away, he had more dignity given to him.

Ncmargman   July 7th, 2009 6:47 am ET

The United States is broke, people are loosing their homes and jobs, etc....... it's a shame that media outlets place priority of Micheal Jackson over the more important challenges that face our nation.

John   July 7th, 2009 6:48 am ET

I am the same age of Michael Jackson and grew up listening to him.
I am looking for my jackson five album ABC. I have a huge collection of his music and videos and will not sell them. By the way...I think robin looks like the actress Mendez in fast and furious.

John in san francisco...... just look over your shoulder honey.

DeAnna   July 7th, 2009 6:50 am ET

I know his fans and family will grieve for a long time. But what "awareness" did his death bring???? Let us not forget Farrah, who brought cancer awareness to many. For her contributions, many lives may be saved by being tested for cancer and learning to listen to their body.

Bonnie   July 7th, 2009 6:51 am ET

As far as I'm concern, I feel that Micheal Jackson is not the King
of pop. Elvis Presley was the King of pop and always will be.
Micheal should be labeled the Prince of Pop. Thank you, Bonnie

tony   July 7th, 2009 6:52 am ET

Michael Jackson was the greatest.
If you haven't noticed everybody wanted to be like Mike.
We took his moves, swag, and he also lost his childhood.

R.I.P MJ
I know it's better on the other side

MUSU   July 7th, 2009 6:52 am ET

At this moment all the fans of MJ wants is to allow them to mourn the lost of an icon and not to see or listen to all the negativisms of a dear one. My prayers are with the family especially the kid. I pray that God Almighty will grant them all that they desire. Rest in peace Michael. sleep on beloved, sleep and take your rest. Lay down your head upon the saviour's. We love you most but jesus loves you best. Good night, good night good night.

Jill   July 7th, 2009 6:52 am ET

Glad it is finally going to be over. I can't watch the celebration of this man's disgrace to children. Turning the channel to Sports Center. Will return watching when important news is back on.

Dr. Gary Honaker   July 7th, 2009 6:54 am ET

I do believe, in all sincerity, that if as many people went to church instead of going Jacksons funeral and memorial, this nation may have hope after all. The guy is dead, leave it alone, what he done here on earth is between him and the Lord above, let God judge him.

Bill   July 7th, 2009 6:54 am ET

I mourn the loss of journalistic integrity on the part of HLN. It took you guys all of ten seconds after Mr. Jackson's death to go from respectable media outlet to paparazzi on steroids. It seems like it's been Michael Jackson News rather than Headline News ever since.

MJ was a product of our culture, sad to say. He lived a life of privilege and excess and his death should surprise no one. I just find all the hoopla disconcerting when Farah Fawcett, who died the same day and lived a less extravagant but probably more meaningful life, received little more than an "oh, by the way, Farrah died too" from you guys.

Anji   July 7th, 2009 6:55 am ET

I remember hiding in my closet when I was a little kid listening BAD. Most of his music identified with me in some way and still continues doing so.. I really believe that he was a kid at heart and was totally misunderstood by society. I love the way his music connected with me, and will always stay with. He will never be forgotten.

brich   July 7th, 2009 6:55 am ET

ENOUGH ALREADY! LET HIM REST IN PEACE, FOR HIS FAMILY'S SAKE! HIS DEATH IS A "MEDIA FRENZY" AND UNNECESSARY! EVERYONE HAS TO DIE IN LIFE, THAT'S JUST THE WAY IT IS! WHEN WE START IDOLIZING PEOPLE INSTEAD OF GOD, THOSE "IDOLS" ARE EVENTUALLY TAKEN AWAY FROM THE WORLD! MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE JACKSON FAMILY FOR THEIR LOSS, AND I WILL KEEP THEM IN MY PRAYERS.

"IT IS BETTER TO TRUST IN THE LORD THAN TO PUT CONFIDENCE IN MAN." (PSALM 118:8)

Rebecca   July 7th, 2009 6:56 am ET

Getting a tired of the whole thing. There is a lot going on in the world that needs to be reported instead we get reports of how great a former child molester was.I for one will not be watching the media show on any channel. I know how to work the controls to my TV and that will be the OFF button.

ROBIN BATTAGLINI   July 7th, 2009 6:57 am ET

I remember when i was in my teens, my girlfriends and I would go skating at the roller rink, dress up in black rimmed hats and a silver glittered glove, and request Michael Jacksons songs constantly. His music put smiles on our faces from cheek to cheek, and even now 25 years later he still does. I will have those memories always and no matter how old I get when I hear any of michaels songs, I will always feel like that teen I used to be. I know in my heart that their are many angels up in heaven right now enjoying the music that I did, GOD BLESS AND RIP MICHAEL, Love Robin

Ann in TN   July 7th, 2009 7:00 am ET

I am sorry that Michael Jackson passed away, but, enough already, with all the tv coverage. By the way, just who is paying for this memorial service in LA? I'm sure the state of California cannot pay!! And, just why should LA or the state of California have to foot any of the bill?

Sherry Hembree   July 7th, 2009 7:06 am ET

Michael Jackson will always be remembered . Not only through his music and dance but the famous we are the world feed africa. Michael was abused as a child which is why I believe he went above and beyond for children.

Now that Michael Jacksons children are going to be placed in a new home and in a new persons coustody I can't help to wonder Will Joe Jackson have to have supervised visitation if indeed he is allowed any visitation . Michael Did say his dad abused him which could also have led to his pill usage to mask the abuse.
I would also take into thought and concern that Diana Ross has been a dear friend to Michael and Michael named her to be be one of the people to take his children not to mention the children are use to the life style of Michael including his friend Diana Ross . I do wonder will the children be asked where they want to live .

Michael Jackson and ELVIS both had a problem with pills is Lisa Marie being investigated?

Rumors have been said to be that the King of Rock is still alive somewhere so could it be Michael is also still alive and did not die but did collaps ?

I really do not want to see the King of Pop Michael Jackson , a man with such a sweet soul no longer with us. I feel bad For Michael it is bad enough to be a abused child but to live alone without a spouce to support him had to be very tough.

Michael You are Loved and Your Music and Dance legacy will be forever remembered.
Sherry

Herb   July 7th, 2009 7:11 am ET

Has anyone noticed that negative comments about MJ are not making it on the air?

Nikki Southern   July 7th, 2009 7:12 am ET

I grew up on MJ's music, and it really meant a great deal to me. I never stopped listening to his music. I still listen to it today, I have everything he put out, it is on my I-Pod. I remember when I was young I danced to his music wearing the red leather jacket along with white glove and all!!
He will forever be in my heart, I hope that we will be able to see and hear some more of the music etc... that he wrote and or recorded before his passing. I would love his legacy to continue forever, and it can if the fans like myself that TRULY loved and believed in him will keep listening to his music!! Let's keep his memory alive always!
I love you Michael, you will live forever in my memory and in my heart. I was with you and supported you through it all!! Thanks for giving the world your love for others, your gentle spirit and most of all your talent, Goodbye Michael, you are not alone I love you!!
PEACE Nikki

Tim   July 7th, 2009 7:12 am ET

I just don't get it...everybody was so quick to hate Michael Jackson when he was accused of being a child molester, and now everybody wants to love him. Peopled need to make up their minds, this is just rediculous. People....stop idolizing celebrities, it's one of the dumbest things you can do.

Bob   July 7th, 2009 7:19 am ET

Michael Jacksons death is blown WAY out of proportion. We have much more important things to worry about. I am not convinced that he was NOT the anti-christ. He will not be missed on this end

Luz, Connecticut   July 7th, 2009 7:22 am ET

On Michael Jackson: I regret not meeting the person behind the artist when he was alive! So famous and talented, and yet, so grounded and spiritual! Obviously, this talented man was ahead of our times.
I watched when The Jackson Five make their debut on TV, My children and I watched Thriller when it was released! How can I ever forget Michael Jackson?
Thank you, Michael, for all the good memories. My love will touch you wherever you are! May GOD bless you!

Johnny Mahan   July 7th, 2009 7:31 am ET

Well, we will all miss M.J., but i am sick of people disrespecting the King Of Pop!!! Calling him a pedofille etc... First of all the people were scamming to get money. If he was all of those things that you all claim he was why would they give him sole custody of his children??? Now just like O.J it might look like he could be guilty,BUT when when you are cleared from all charges!!! all charges.... Therefore you are not what the media proclaims you to be. R.I.P M.J YOU WILL BE TRULY MISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rick   July 7th, 2009 7:35 am ET

There's no other place I would be than watching the biggest tribute to a "superstar" there will ever be! Michael Jackson is the BIGGEST AND BEST musician there will ever be! We should all remember also the projects and charities that Michael was involved in because that was the person he was. And to all the "haters" out there who talk about the so-called trials and we shouldn't be remembering a "child molester" just remember that he was aquitted of all charges and only "accused" of it and never proven! R.I.P M.J.!!

Sad for the News   July 7th, 2009 7:36 am ET

While it is a shame that Michael Jackson died, it should have been a single day on the news. The fact that it is overshadowing EVERY other news story is tragic. Does anyone know that Robert McNamara died last night? Does anyone realize seven, count them seven, American servicemen gaver their life last night to defend our country and ensure we all retain the freedom to do what we want, think what we want, say what we want, and report what we want. Enough is enough. I hope that his estate pays for the security that is having to be used to protect those that choose to attend his memorial. I as a taxpayer, want to have nothing to do with it...Take those millions and celebrate the true American heroes...those that give their lives in defense of our freedom.

Pam Carr   July 7th, 2009 7:37 am ET

Michael Jackson has been a part of my life for what seems like forever. I pray for his family, especially his children. They have lost their father. Be at peace Michael. It is your right and remember you are loved.

richard smiley   July 7th, 2009 7:42 am ET

There seems to be a great deal of confusion on the part of the media between the need to know and the wanting to know about MJ's passing. Those who would refer to him and his life as a freak show would do well to look at those who are reporting and what they are reporting. The movie "Network" and the Don Henley song are nightmares that have become real life.

J May   July 7th, 2009 7:43 am ET

He was an extroarinary man. With all the turmoil in his life, he showed the world what peace was, and truly was an exemplary humanitarian. His love for all children, shows how much he cared for the future of our world. His music displayed emotions everyone feels, and that they can relate to. He bridged the cultures through all the endeavors in his short life. His family should be very proud of the wonderful man they had in their life, and in the hearts of all his fans. His children were very fortunate to have such a wonderful father.

Alexander   July 7th, 2009 7:44 am ET

I was in the middle of editing two of three new songs for Michael when my son had came into the studio. "Have you heard what happen to Michael Jackson?" There is more to this story but the bottom line is for the first time in my life I was stunned and still can't believe it. Like everyone else my heart and prayers go out to the Jackson family.

Simply stated: He was the best of the best.

Pamela Vance   July 7th, 2009 7:45 am ET

I am 50 years old and have been a Michael Jackson Fan since 1969. My memories of Michael will be with me forever. I am so happy to have the memory of seeing him perform live 3 times! My fondest memory is going to Jacksonville, Florida in 1984 with my Parents to see Michael perform with his Brothers on his Victory Tour. I was suppose to drive with a girlfriend to see them perform when two hours before the trip she cancelled. My Mom said, we will go with you! My Dad drove 10 hours and went with me to that show. We were 4 rows center and I can still remember seeing him move across that stage in my mind today. A month later, I took both my Parents to see him perform in Miami in that my Mom could see the concert! An experience that I got to enjoy with my Parents which we will remember forever!

Laura James   July 7th, 2009 7:46 am ET

Robin,

My son Robert was born August 29, 1980. When he was little I would wake him up in the morning asking him, "Do you know what today is?" and he'd answer "Michael Jackson's Birthday!!" Now my son is approaching 30 and to be cute, I call him asking the same question and I always get the same answer. We will truly miss Michael Jackson!!

OK, great musician but: STOP AND THINK: How do the MOLESTATION Victims and their moms and dads feel right now? The grown man who did God knows what to their boys is being praised and idolized to the end. If "my" son had been a victim I would be going crazy right now.
1) Does no one remember he settled out of court? If "I" had been accused of a horrific crime I would have fought it until the end.
2) He said in his OWN words that he slept with boys.
3) The boy was able to describe his private parts. (How innocent was he…?)
All you people who are acting like he is a hero, do you have kids? Do any of you have morals? ? Do any of you have Pitty for the victims?

Sherry Smolik   July 7th, 2009 7:47 am ET

Hello Robin! Wrote a poem for the Jackson Family and used Michael's song in it!

Michael, Where you are now it's "Easy as ABC and Easy as One, Two, Three",
Rest with the Lord as we remember Thee.
Remember the "Man In The Mirror", who changed his ways,
You will now have serene, calm, and beautiful days.
You sang out "It Doesn't Matter If You're Black or White",
As we are all God's children and we shine in his light.
As you step into Heaven just dance to "Beat It", and sing,
Praise and rejoice and let all church bells ring.
"We Are The World, We Are The Children',You made a brighter day,
By Singing and giving you showed a better way.
"You Are Not Alone", God is beside you,
You will be forever happy and blessed too.
"Billy Jean"' was awesome!, The suitcase, the jacket, the hat, and the glove,
Showed us an entertainer we all grew to love.
I pray for your family as they mourn their great loss,
I pray for your children, as I kneel and pray at the cross.
May God hold your children in the palms of his hands,
And may your children "Rock With You", leaving footprints in the sand.
Michael you will be missed greatly each day,
But walk with our Lord he will show you the way.
Smile, you are in Heaven now, "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough", take it all in,
And throw out a peace sign and your special grin.
Moonwalk on the streets of gold,
As your eternal life begins to unfold
We will all miss you greatly, your music we will play
God bless you Michael as we bow and we pray.
Your music was on top of the charts,
You will live forever in our hearts.
Rest in peace, with your wings soar high,
The world bids you farewell and a loving Goodbye.

A Fan For Many Years

Ever since I can remember I loved Michael jackson's song including the ones he sung with his Brothers. I will never forget where I was or what I was doing when I heard of his untimely passing. To name a few my favorite songs were Man In The Mirror, We Are The World,
and Thriller.May God Bless his family and three beautiful kids. I love you Michael and may you rest in peace.

I TOLD HER BABY MICHAEL HAD BEEN AROUND FOR SOME TIME LIKE WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL . I AND NOW 52 YEARS OLD SO HE HAS BEEN IN MY TIME ALL THE WAY TO MY GRAND KIDS WOW HE WAS SOMETHING DONT YOU THINK

Very surprised that HLN and the media has taken this to the level of Princes Diana. This has become nothing more than Jacksons feeding their media craving and grabbing the last spot light they can. Jackson in no uncertain terms deserves this attention. I am disappointed in CNN and HLN for feeding this. The freak is dead put him in the ground already!

J. Holly   July 7th, 2009 7:51 am ET

I will be so glad when they put that pervert in the ground. Hopefully then everyone will shut up about him. Three other people died at the same time as he did. What happened to coverage on them. They were just as famous as he was and they weren't charged with molestation.

Paul   July 7th, 2009 7:52 am ET

Lead story? Reporting on Michael Jackson any more is not worth the electrons it takes to push out the message. Maybe now the children he molested can sleep in peace. He can drink warm milk at bedtime in hell.

Dorothy Randall   July 7th, 2009 7:52 am ET

Good morning. I am 73 years old. I can relate to Michael Jackson. My mother was strict on us . To this day, I don't fit in anywhere. I was raised a perfectionist. We didn't have any sleep overs . I , like Michael, could sleep in the same bed with people and not do anything inappropriate. Most people would never believe this. They usually say that they have never seen anyone like me before. I had two lady friends who introduced me as their wierd friend. I wasn't weird, just different and tried to do the right thing. I believe Michael just couldn't handle the untrue things that were said about him.

I feel so sorry for him.

Thank you,

Do I Buy or do I Boycott? I am poised and watching which stars attend the Michael Jackson Memorial and which do not. If you are a Black celeb, only death or jail should keep you away!

Allan M   July 7th, 2009 8:03 am ET

Michael's fans don't read much nor do they seem to have very good memory function. Alice Cooper introduced theater into rock and roll. Jackson Browne was probably the first successful conservationist/artist. Michael wasn't even the first pedophile/artist in rock and roll. Gary Glitter owns that one. Now he's charging fans to go to his funeral. Completely tasteless. I've listened to outright fantasy and revisionist history for two weeks. For most music fans, Michael goes in the same category as K.I.S.S. and Josie and the Pussycats...music for pre-teens and the developmentally stunted. Look at who won't be at the services...grownups and the well-adjusted.

joe   July 7th, 2009 8:04 am ET

Michelle, Florida   July 7th, 2009 8:11 am ET

When I was a battered spouse living on an Army base in Germany back in the late 70's, it was Michael Jackson's music that kept me going day after day. I would put on his albums and the joy that would course through me would make me dance the day away and cope with all my troubles. Michael was a huge talent, a genious and yes, a little psychotic. He reported time after time, to Oprah, to Martin Bashir, to the world, that his father repeatedly beat him and his brothers yet Joe Jackson has never had to answer for that. Joe Jackson is responsible for the demise of Michael Jackson, from his bizarre downward spiral to the day he died. I will miss Michael, and I will never forgive Joe Jackson for destroying a true American treasure.

Mindi Ford   July 7th, 2009 8:16 am ET

I had the opportunity to meet MJ when I worked at Disney. I was dancing at Mannequins when he visited. He invited a few of us dancers to his private party in his hotel. MJ was extremely polite. He was very shy at first, but soon we were having a blast being big kids dropping water balloons on the people walking below his balcony. It may have been for a short time, but Michael Jackson and I were friends. I do NOT believe he molested any children. I think MJ was trying to live a childhood he was denied. I am personally very sad at his untimely death and I mourn his loss. His music crossed oceans and generations. I have many cherished memories that may not have happened if I hadn't heard his music. Most of the world never got to meet this incredible man, yet he has been welcomed in our homes, our cars, our parties. Our lives are forever changed from MJs music, videos, and dance moves. While working at Disney I got to hang with more musical and movie talent than should be legal. What I learned is despite their job...they are just people, and when treated as such, were a blast to get to know. MJ was just a man. Growing up is never easy, Michael just happened to grow up in front of the eyes of the world, that couldn't have been easy for him or his siblings. I would hope that people remember MJ for his gifts to our world. I know I will. Goodbye Michael, my friend.

There are a lot of people I agree with on here – that this whole thing is getting annoying! Please can CNN and the rest of the media just drop the whole Michael Jackson thing and skip the funeral altogether?? PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SHUT UP ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON?!?!? This type of coverage should be reserved for people who are more important like a president, senator, congress person, or other head of state, not some drugged up accused child molester. And one last thing... I'm calling out the HLN producers and challenging them to read this on the air.

Tiffani Nelson   July 7th, 2009 8:21 am ET

Why is it that the moment a blog opens up to remember the King of Pop, people use it to totally bash the man? The man was never convicted on the crimes he was accused of. Therefore he is not guilty. Why does he have to suffer with such accusations even to his grave? It goes to show that no matter what the law says people will still bash you. Where is the justice? If you sit down and watch interviews with Michael and watch his documentary, it is very clear that Michael's mentality was young. How can we say such awful things about someone that chose to live his childhood in his adult years? He loved children and not in a way in which everyone seems to think. People take advantage of celebs and that is what happened. These awful people took someones life style and made is seem like he was a pedifile when actually what they were after was his money. If you honestly think that people that were close to him would risk their reputation something is wrong with you. Lisa Marie spoke publically on his behalf and I highly doubt she would lie about such things. Open your eyes and realize he was the way he was because of his awful childhood.

I also can't believe this ongoing coverage regarding his drug use. Anyone that has power like Michael had can get anything from anyone. Money buys all things in this world and he had it to spend. We make such speculations on everything he did, but very few would have said no to Michael Jackson. He had a drug problem as we can very well see, but leave it alone. It is so disrespectful to constantly talk about his drug problems. Let us respect Michael for at least one day. Let's not combine his rememberance and drug use on a day of national mourning.

We all love you Michael and all of us were touched by your music in some way. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and loved ones. Rest now Michael and we will all join you one day, Your music will forever live in our hearts.

laostaar   July 7th, 2009 8:23 am ET

He did socity a favor by crocking early. He can't molest anymore kids now.

Michelle   July 7th, 2009 8:24 am ET

Nothing against Michael Jackson – I've enjoyed his music since I was a child – but I want NEWS when I turn on the morning express. HLN, CNN... both stations are practically inundated with this, and it's not news. At least, it's not the most important news in the world right now. There are much bigger issues, REAL issues, that impact everyone and are happening right now.

Please, can we get back to the news, and have just a bit more dignity in marking the passing of a cultural icon?

Al   July 7th, 2009 8:24 am ET

Your world is going to hell in a hand basket when you start idolizing perverts and childmolesters.

Jan F.   July 7th, 2009 8:24 am ET

I guess enought money can buy death. But that is only speculation. Did anyone else notice the tremors of his hands during the film, as well as his clutching his left side. He was not well. Since their are so many signs of heart trouble. Are these ones??

Michael Fleming   July 7th, 2009 8:25 am ET

I can not belive that michael is dead it's I don't see how god could take such a careing person like this it's just like it's a bad dream witch I hope we could all just wake up from

Rachael   July 7th, 2009 8:25 am ET

Good morning. I never really paid much attention to Michael Jackson's due to his controversial life. I preferred to not have an opinion of him and leave it to God, however I still judged him.

I only recognized him as a musical genius after his death while looking at various stories of his life...which made me sad because I did not appreciate him before he died. That goes to show how crude rumors damage the image and life of its victims.

The man loved people, children and anyone who was in need, he was a precious human being. When he came to Trinidad he asked to visit the poor villages, to meet with those who could not afford to attend the Jackson 5 concert.

I now acknowledge his superior talent, passion for humanity and greatness...too late.

I would like to wish his family God's peace and comfort from all the people of Trinidad and Tobago and by extension the Caribbean.

Lord help us not to judge crudely, but to love the way you want us to...

drflavio309   July 7th, 2009 8:25 am ET

ENOUGH with the coverage of wacko already... personally I don't feel he was all that you have made him out to be, with the coverage you have given him you have made him out to be some kind of great person, well most people in the world think of him as a way out pedophile he may of been a good singer in some peoples eyes, but not in mine, and your coverage makes me sick.

When I adopted my son from Korea in 1984, he was just 5 years old. The only English he could speak at the time was Hamburger, Coca Cola and Michael Jackson. He actually learned English singing Beat It. At the age of 6, he took break dancing lessons and I have a video of his recital dressed in black pants and shoes, white socks, red and gold top and a glove...moonwalking to Beat It. He is now 31 but it brings back nice memories. Later on, when I became a DJ at bars and weddings, if the crowd wasn't dancing, all I had to do was play Black and White and everyone went crazy. He will be missed.

Christie   July 7th, 2009 8:26 am ET

First of all, Robin..I would just like to thank you for being so positive in all the coverage of Michael Jackson. Although I am only 28, I have fond memories of unfolding the "Off the Wall" and "Thriller" albums on my living room floor and playing them in the record player until my Mom or Dad yelled at me to give it a rest. Michael's music defines my childhood and continued to help me express my feelings and emotions through my teenage years. The world lost an amazing person and I will never forget the legend that was Michael Jackson!

Cullen   July 7th, 2009 8:26 am ET

Honoring a freakish pedophile? No wonder the whole dang world is screwed up. Anyone that attends the memorial should be committed and investigated for drug abuse or child abuse.

Randy McAfee   July 7th, 2009 8:26 am ET

wow such noteiriety!
never did care for him, didn't like his music, so why the big deal?
glad to see Al Sharpton getting some media too, wonder how he will slam white prople now?

Buck   July 7th, 2009 8:29 am ET

Unbelievable-How can we as Americans spend so much time, money, and effort celebrating the life of this person who hurt so many kids with his perversions. I am amazed at how many days have been spent on these "news" shows talking about the wonderful Michael Jackson without once that I have seen even mentioning the millions he spent trying to silence those he hurt. This is truly a sad sick society and you people are waving its' flag.

blanketparis   July 7th, 2009 8:30 am ET

Michael Jackson IS THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER OF ALL TIME.

People talk about him and will continue to talk about him FOREVER because he made such an impact on what we all love, MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT, which people spend billions of dollars a year on. The world will never see such an incredible talent again!

What I would like to know is, why didn't they consider this a crime scene?

anastasia   July 7th, 2009 8:30 am ET

when i heard he passed on, i was heartbroken, as if a part of me died with him. i know this sounds extremely melodramatic, but like many others, i have come to attach my own life milestones to his. i was a teenager who dislike the idolizations of popular contemporary celebreties. but after "thriller", his poster was the only poster of a contemporary artist in my bedroom. i'm also sad because i also believe that the world has lost not only a genius, but also a trully good person. no one can be so gifted, so good, soo kind, burned so brightly, without going so dramatically and so soon.

and to those who keep on calling him a child molestor, i have this to say to you: I WILL BE MOLESTED TOO IF IT MEANS $20MILLION MORE IN MY BANK ACCOUNT.

Trudy George   July 7th, 2009 8:30 am ET

At 61 yr's old I have 2 very fond memories of MJ. One of which was when I worked at the infamous Du-Pars Restaurant in Studio City. MJ would come in almost every morning, and sit at the counter alone, reading the newspaper, while sipping on hot tea, and eating an english muffin..he was so humble, polite and kind. But even back then, I could see the " unhappiness" in his eyes, yet, he was always ever so kind. Two yr's later, "Thriller" was released.
My husband and I lived on Valley Vista, just 4 blks from the Encino home, where at the time, all the boys lived. One nite, my husband, a musician, snuck over to the house, and left one of his recorded tapes of his music, along with his business card on the front seat of the Limo. I did not hear of his passing until early Friday morning the 26th, and was absolutely in denial. I thought it was a dream. It is true that MJ was a very lonely, yet KIND soul, as I remember him from the restaurnant. So, So sad, will never forget my memories of him. Hope that he is now at peace, and can see all the love and caring people had and still have for him. RIP Michael Jackson!!

Rick Chervenak   July 7th, 2009 8:32 am ET

I don't understand all the fanfare. I was a fan growing up. I tried to mimic his dance moves as a teen and still love the music as an adult, but are we to forget/forgive his crimes. I suppose OJ was innocent as well. As a society we seem to forgive/tolerate the eccentricities accompanying genius; but have we moved so far that we forgive someone who steels a child's innocence? What about all the alleged under the table payoffs as well as the millions paid out publicly to quiet a molestation charge? I loved the music, but detest the man.

What if it had been your child? Would you sill mourn his death?

I know my comments are controversial and won't be read/posted, I only offer in alternate point of view to the situation.

Christian Cowgirl   July 7th, 2009 8:33 am ET

I THANK GOD MICHAEL JACKSON IS DEAD!!!! No more freak shows, no more perversion, and God answers prayers because Michael will NEVER be able to MOLEST anymore innocent children.
I can't understand why people think hes so great. The only Great Men & Women are the ones fighting for our country and giving up their lives for us. THEY ARE OUR NATIONS HERO'S, not this freak that people seem to worship. This is a crazy society that we are living in where Sin is allowed to run rampid and innocense is no longer protected.
Go ahead and Worship your so called Pop King. God is still in control and He will protect our children one way or the other. Michaels Dead, theres your proof that THERE IS A GOD. By the way... JESUS IS THE ONLY KING OF KINGS!!!!!!!

Paul in PA   July 7th, 2009 8:34 am ET

Michael Jackson was truly the Elvis of my generation. He maybe gone, but his artistry will be eternal.

Sarah   July 7th, 2009 8:38 am ET

Just like in life, his memorial is TACKY and Nouveau Riche!

Ali   July 7th, 2009 8:41 am ET

Losing Michael Jackson brought back a flood of childhood memories and all the fun and good things that went with it. Once upon a time, before 9/11 and before economical disasters...there was an innocent young girl in Brooklyn that hung out on her stoop, dancing with her friends to MJ's music. I am totally heartbroken...I feel as if chapters of my past have left with his passing.

Tim   July 7th, 2009 8:43 am ET

Why were tickets FREE? Why should this cost LA anything at all? They should have sold these tickets for top dollar and paid for LA's expences! I am an LA Resident and do not appreciate this burdon in a city that can not even pay it's employees.
If the MJ fortune is (or will be) so tremendous, charge the estate!

People forget that Michael Jackson created pop, rock, r&b, disco and put rap in his music! He also wrote, directed, arranged, produced, and acted. He did it, just limiting him "The King of Pop" is not just. He is trully "THE KING of ENTERTAINMENT!!!"

Mary   July 7th, 2009 8:45 am ET

Negative comments are not making it. I thought this was CNN not a private" MJ loving site". I guess CNN is not a NEWS channel at all. I will go elsewhere for MY news, not a channel that censors!

joy   July 7th, 2009 8:45 am ET

I went to work for Sony Music in 1982 as a Customer Service Rep. in a manufacturing plant located in Carrollton, GA. It was a new office and those of us who had been hired trained for 2 weeks before going live on the phones taking orders from Sales Reps and record stores. Little did we know that the week we began actually taking orders was the week the "Thriller" album orders were being placed. Needless to say, we hit the ground running. Atfer the album came out, it was a madhouse! A few years later Michael announced that he was going on tour for the last time. I was fortunate enough to get tickets from our Atlanta office and took my daughter, who was 6 or 7 at the time. It was one of the greatest performances I had ever seen–and I had seen a lot–from Elvis to the Eagles, Tina Turner and many, many more. During the encore everyone was standing and looked over at my daughter, who was curled up asleep in her seat. I'm sorry the world has lost such a great musical talent.

Jack in Virginia   July 7th, 2009 8:47 am ET

ENOUGH already!! This "thing" shouldn't receive the media attention "it" is getting. "It" slept with and fondled children. My God, why does the media insist on placing this molester on a pedestal. God took care of what our society couldn't.

Now let's move on people. We have soldiers dying overseas that receive a small fraction of the attention this circus act has received!

Doedi   July 7th, 2009 8:48 am ET

Remember when Michael and the Jackson 5 was on the Ed sullivan show i was 8 then. I feel i have lost a brother , Michael was a part of all of our families and he gave us so much over the years and will never be forgot.

Michael change the world with his music and dance. I just can't believe he has passed! Today is a very sad day for me. My prayers are with his childern, family and his friends.
God bless you........... Michael!

I still don't understand how this medication Diporvan was obtained? If this was a drug that was used in a hospital setting only, then did a doctor obtain this drug at a hospital. It sounds like this drug was not available at the local pharmacy and the only way to obtain it was through a hospital. I would think you would need more than just a prescription to get this drug. You would need hospital excess to obtain this medication. So does this mean a hospital as well as a doctor took part in making this drug available for this home use? If so they all need to be held accountable for what happen so this type of practice stops.

Donita   July 7th, 2009 8:51 am ET

He gave so much to the world! He'sin The Book of World Records for being the MOST CHARITABLE, we must pay respect to Michael Jackson!!!

Chris   July 7th, 2009 8:53 am ET

I am sick to deal of all this glory of Michael Jackson. He is not a God and, yes, many people enjoyed his mustic but I remember him holding that little baby over the balcony – is that something to be proud of? The Jackson's have suffered a loss - let them mourn in private.

lori c   July 7th, 2009 8:55 am ET

I was born and raised Redford Twp. a suburb of Detroit and Motown. I'm the same age as Michael Jackson. I have almost every 45 or 33 record of Michael or the Jackson 5. I even have the VHS of the Wiz. My 3 sons grew up listening to him and never understood the obsession until now. Movies like 13 Going on 30 have his Thriller music and Britain's Got Talent segment with Scott Damon and Bubbles use Michael Jackson music.( can be seen on You Tube) When I first heard thru CNN that TMZ said he was at the hospital I didn't pay much attention. As it started to sink in I found myself becoming lost in the VH1 videos and CNN reports. I loved him...I miss him...he was truly a Superstar and in some ways even bigger than Elvis. Wish he could have felt the Love he's receiving now.

Michelle, Florida   July 7th, 2009 8:56 am ET

First of all, he was never convicted of any sex crimes. Secondly, he paid the $20 million to make the lawsuit go away because, as he explained it, he didn't want to turn into another OJ and have a media and courtroom circus. I think he was mentally ill, I think his father's abuse made him that way. We don't fault people for their illness. He was a tormented and tragic person looking for relief in drugs, so what? Who isn't? He was a musical genius and we have lost a great talent. Joe Jackson should hide his head in shame and be called out for his violence. I hope he never gets near those kids.

Rhonda Landry   July 7th, 2009 8:57 am ET

I am heartbroken over the passing of MJ. Perhaps, his death is a message to let go of judgement. MJ was one of the most gentle sweet spirits to ever walk this Earth. He gave so much through his art, to charity, to children. It was obvious how special he was, a gift to the world, yet he was judged and condemned.

In death, as in life he was a true messenger. And that is why the entire world is mourning him. We will forever love Michael Jackson.

dave45030   July 7th, 2009 8:57 am ET

why do you people keep glorifying that child molesting pedephile wake up people he paid those families off with his millions the only reason he didnt die in san quentin along side charlie manson

Melanie   July 7th, 2009 8:57 am ET

I am deeply saddened by the people who won tickets to Michael Jackson's Memorial and then turned around to sell them and make money. There are people out "here" who desperately would have loved to go to his Memorial and deserve to go who shouldn't have to pay for tickets that were supposed to be FREE!
I can't even listen to his music without crying now and yet I can't not listen to how beautiful his music really was.
As for him being a child molestor. That still hasn't been proven. People believe what the media wants them to believe. He was a loving, caring person who wouldn't hurt a child.
I will miss you Michael. There will never be anyone like you. You really are a shining star

Lexi   July 7th, 2009 8:58 am ET

Michael has been the soundtrack to my life to date. There's not one song of his that hasn't been a significant milestone in my life. From age 5 until now... My heart is shattered and like many of his fans, I love him and miss him.

Damn mj why so soon?   July 7th, 2009 8:58 am ET

Damn mike even in death you still have haters. Over the years you have help millions of kids you never even met and for that thank you. Out of millions 2 said you did some bad things to them that has tarnished your good name. 1 case you won in court. The other you cave in for the sake of getting on with your life, nobody ever talks about the money the family took to make it go away. It was always about the money and to this day its about the money. Now that you are gone we still need you! In death you will get rid of all these crooked dr! They way i see it, ppl will still need you to stop this major issue of prescription drug abuse. Your music speaks for its! Love you mj!

Karshemia   July 7th, 2009 8:59 am ET

I love you MJ! You will truly be missed and have a big place in all of our hearts, Your music has made me see a different point of veiw on life and the world. I will always think of you and I have 3 hours of the Michael Jackson VH1 Music Video Special on my DVR that I have been watching daily. You can now Rest In PEACE. No more lies from the media to bring you down. You're in a better place and I know you are smiling and looking down at us. Love you!

Marlene   July 7th, 2009 9:00 am ET

I am 2 years older than Michael Jackson was and rember listening to his songs, then when I had a daughter she was in love with him and had his posters everywhere in her room. As for the molestation charges, yes if it is true it is horrible but what about the parents who settled out of court for money, what does that say about them? God is the true judge and he will judge us all one day, let people mourn if thats what they want to do. I for one will miss him as will millions of others.

Ethiopia H.   July 7th, 2009 9:02 am ET

Don't know why a lot of WHITE people refuse to give MJ credit for all the ground breaking moves that he did for blacks and the world! Do your research on his career. He is not a criminal. Was anything proven?..... SHOW RESPECT!!! You showed repect to all the white celebs that passed give him his time!!! R.I.P "THE KING OF ENTERTAINMENT"

anastasia   July 7th, 2009 9:08 am ET

i am disturbed by how many negative comments MJ is receiving from what i can only assume ignorant backwater bible bashing christians who do not belive in their own judiciary system which has EQUITTED MJ from all those allegations. I WOULD BE MOLESTED TOO IF IT MEANS MORE THAN $20 MILLIONS MORE IN MY BANK ACCOUNT. the only guilt he had was being extremely naive about one of the darkest pits in human nature. if a woman accused you of rape, and you have billions at your disposal, are you sure you would not just pay to make it go away? well, stupidity and self righteousness often go hand in hand, so i am not expecting much quality answers and that question is rethorical. i am a christian by the way. and one of the most important thing the bible taught me is grace, hope, redemption, forgiveness, and compassion. those who profess themselves christians and have such nasty things coming out of your mouth about MJ, SHAME ON YOU! and stop calling yourselves christians!!!

Bridget   July 7th, 2009 9:09 am ET

I have been mourning over Michael Jackson's death over the past two weeks. I was one of the lucky winners of the online Lottery but could not find a plane from Massachusetts to California. I grew up with Michael's music and i cannot believe he is gone. I am completely devastated and crushed to find out the king of pop is no longer here. But i know the whole world has to believe he will always be in our hearts.

Earl Scott   July 7th, 2009 9:10 am ET

One of the most successful and influential black americans to help mend the diversity of races. I remember seeing him in Little Rock on a double decker bus with the Jackson 5 during a parade for them. That was a highlight of my life. Never saw him live afterwards but I'll always cherish that memory.

anastasia   July 7th, 2009 9:11 am ET

terry, it is not about race. MJ foought hard not to be a "colour". we can try to maintain his legacy by not making this about race. he is internationally recognized as the person who made history. long live the king!

Pammie   July 7th, 2009 9:11 am ET

United States SOLDIERS are DYING in AFGHANISTAN! Enough with the relentless coverage of Mr. Jackson! It's embarassing to think that our citizens need or want this much coverage on the passing of a talented, yet obviously troubled soul. Meanwhile, all over the globe, real news is happening and we're not getting it!

Sharon   July 7th, 2009 9:12 am ET

My heart goes out to the jackson family. When we are asleep we will hear a whisper of your not alone. we will know that he is looking down on us and hope for the best of all his family, friends and fans. He will always be missed.

Tamilynn   July 7th, 2009 9:12 am ET

I sit here today and I am reminded of my younger days. Days laying by the pool, being around the house, or going to school dances Michael Jackson's music was always there. I grew up on Michael Jackson, while performing as a family and him solo, along with a lot of other amazing people. You didn't have to know him personally to get the big picture of him and what he stood for. I'll never forget when the Thriller video aired. That video and actually the whole album changed the face of music. He was an amazing person and he did so many awesome things for the world. It is a shame that he had to wait until later in life to be a child. I can understand the whole Neverland environment. Inside those gates he could be himself. My heart goes out to his children, family and other fans. Each song that he sang or wrote was a expression of him and his life. What a awesome legacy he leaves behind! I truly believe the he in general was larger than life, and that he touched the lives of so many all over the world. I am overwhelmed with emotion. I want to thank his family for letting all of us in at this very private time. Good bye Michael Jackson, you will live forever in our hearts and in our souls. Finally, you can rest in peace. The song that is going through my head right now is "You are Not Alone," and "Never Can Say Good Bye." We all love and we all will miss you!!

Eileen   July 7th, 2009 9:16 am ET

Has the world gone nuts? while I love Michael jacksons music the fact still
remains that he was a pedophile and to have the news media go on and on
about him like he's some kind of God is absolutely ridiculous and sending
the wrong message to our children,I don't care how talented you may be that
doesn't give a free pass for the other. I don't even turn on the tv news
anymore as i'm sick of hearing about him. I have black grandchildren and I
don't even want to expose them to making Michael jackson like he's some
kind of role model.I live in the county of L.A. Ca and now we're funding
help for his Funeral? when our state is going broke and we're losing health
care programs? This is beyond ridiculous!

Sasha   July 7th, 2009 9:18 am ET

It's difficult...the whole thing is difficult...his contribution to music artistry and philanthropic contributions should never be forgotten and should be revered, and as a society we should feel obligated to contiue them or even exceed them, but please don't forget his crimes.

Raymond Fiene   July 7th, 2009 9:19 am ET

Back in 1977 Michael Jackson made a statement about Elvis when he died. " Can you image Elvis at 60 ". Now can you image Michael at 60 ?

Spade   July 7th, 2009 9:19 am ET

We will remember Michael for his greatness. Not the negative lies ppl say. I loved him so much Im still hurting. It’s the liars and charlatans will kill the King of Pop. They just need to leave ppl alone. Michael had an innocent to him that ppl used to take his money. Michael was a person who had his on elegance style, flair and swag to him. He taught me how to be an individual with my own personality. Not to conform to BS norms. What an awesome guy… And let’s not forget the millions he gives in donations. I pray negativeness we go away and they can leave him alone.. But you know some ppl are dumb and don’t know how to form their own thoughts and will believe everything they hear on neg news stations… RIP Michael Jackson...

Amanda Ahumada   July 7th, 2009 9:19 am ET

Michael Jackson has been an inspiration to many people, including myself. His music, dancing, and his love for all people will live forever. It break my heart to think that he's gone now, but he will always been in my heart. He will be surely missed.

JR   July 7th, 2009 9:20 am ET

MJ was a popular entertainer thats fact. Today should be a day for morning. Then its time to get back to reality and all the other news that directly affects us. There are too many people dying and not getting much attention since the story of his death broke. He was a man not a God, he will be missed, yes, but its time to move on.

Faye K.   July 7th, 2009 9:20 am ET

MJ's been dead almost 2 weeks now. Give us a break. Most likely MJ died of overdosing drugs.Yeah, he broke racial barriers, but let his soul rest in peace. Coverage of his funeral/memorial is going to be a circus/freak show.MJ went from a talented black kid from Gary, Indiana to looking more like a freaky-looking white woman. The only reason he never did time for molesting those kids, he had the millions to pay off the families.Tell me why else would a supposedly grown adult man be sleeping in the same beds of juvenile boys.Every other child molestor charged has gone to prison because they didn't have the money to pay off the kids' family. I am sick and tired of hearing about Mj's death. Yes, I liked some of his music, like "Beat It" and "Billy Jean" but as his appearance changed, so did his music.
Farrah Fawcett was also famous, she died the same day as MJ, BUT CNN and other news stations haven't given her death the coverage the MJ is getting. Farrah fought a long difficult battle with cancer. Farrah's death has affected me more, because of my own personal battle with cancer. Farrah's documentary told all of us who have ever been touched one way or the other, by this disease, that cancer knows no boundaries, it effects the famous and the poor. Farrah's long struggle with cancer has given me hope in my own daily fight with cancer. She should be ememorialized with more respect than has been given her. The never ending broadcast of MJ's death shows me the national news networks would rather follow a famous child molestor and his Freak show memorial than give the death of another famous actress who lost her battle with cancer the time of day. My guess is this never ending Freak show is making CNN and all other news networks following it, millions of dollars.
MJ is DEAD, let him be DEAD. Yes, my heart goes out to the kids, but not to his money hungry mother and father.
PLEASE give it a rest.

Nita   July 7th, 2009 9:23 am ET

MICHAEL JACKSON out sold Elvis and The Beatles....look it up!!! To this day his record is unbeaten!!! They couldn't do half of what Michael Jackson has accomplished! Even in death his music is #1 across the boards again. He is a ground breaking HISTORY MAKER that will be missed! MJ is "The KING!!!"

Beverly   July 7th, 2009 9:23 am ET

Michael Jackson as a performer will be missed. I remember his songs well. As a family, they should be allowed to have their privacy at a time such as this. As for the memorial, I wish it to be a celebration of the talent that God gave Michael, not a three ring circus. I feel a three ring circus coming on! Rest in God's arms Michael.

Tena   July 7th, 2009 9:25 am ET

Michael Jackson is love all over the world and he will be missed,He is the last of the great one's, we will never see another performer like Michael Jackson, I hope michael can fine the peace in death that he counld not fine in life. I did not get a ticket to the service but that is not going to stop me from taking part in History im glued to CNN , The staff at CNN is doing a great job keeping us up to date with the latest news, keep up the good work guys! The Jackson family are in my prayers.

Erica   July 7th, 2009 9:26 am ET

Michael Jackson will be greatly missed. as a baby i fell in love with his music. many are mourning, especially the family. I pray Michael made peace with God and is finally getting the love and respect he didnt get from most of the world who turned against him. We all love you Michael, you will never be forgotten.

blanketparis   July 7th, 2009 9:27 am ET

FROM THIS DAY FORTH, MICHAEL JACKSON SHOULD BE REFERED TO AS THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER OF ALL TIME, THE KING OF ENTERTAINMENT! To say he is "The King of Pop" is so under rated.

Rest in Peace Michael, the WORLD LOVES YOU! GOD BLESS

todd   July 7th, 2009 9:29 am ET

i wish people would stop talking down about michael jackson, he was a great person, and even in death people are still talking bad about him, let him rest in peace where is finally free. i met him once when i worked for kbtoys in the aventura mall, fl he came in with all of his people and we shut down the store, he was shopping and he evn stopped to talked to me, even then i knew he was a private person, but a good one, i knew the love in his heart, when he even gave me a hug for let me know that he did care about his fans. we will all miss him, and we will see him again

Clif   July 7th, 2009 9:30 am ET

Michael did have love to share. Unfortunately it was with other people's kids. Even I grew up listening to his music until his immorality appeared and showed it's true colors. But his sucess is no greater than Farah Fawcett's, Ed McMann or Billy May's accomplishments. Why focus on the one, who actually needs to be played down, instead of those who lived a more publicized life (not always in hiding), who suffered the true pains of life, instead of inflicting pain and/or shame on others. You at CNN ought to be ashamed.

Spade   July 7th, 2009 9:30 am ET

And to those of you tired, tune the TV. You're ppl others know how to control. You killed him... I've lived in other countries and they don't focus on Negative news Only in America... Get a life... Michael never harmed any child. Think about it, if you're child was harmed would money make it go away...NO SIR... And th e second boy wanted money but Michael refused... What kind of parent will take money over a child's happiness? No parent will loves their child... Im a mother of two... So dont Judge... when others learn that you're not without sin, only can America's problem be solved. Music that sales is foused on drugs, gangs and sex.. I dont hear ppl talking bout staying in school. News, only Negative stuff makes the top headline...

When my daughter was 3 back in 1987 she would tell everyone that she was going to marry Michael Jackson her aunt bought tickets that year to his concert in Denver for her birthday. We were 5 rows back from the stage she was so excited . She is 25 today and still remembers that day and so do I there will never be anyone who can perform like he did and that is the MJ I like to remember................I also wish I could have gone to an Elvis concert before he died.

Clif   July 7th, 2009 9:37 am ET

Well said Sad for News!!!!!!

Cindy   July 7th, 2009 9:38 am ET

What about the soldiers who died in Afghanistan? Where is there circus like funeral. Why does the media continually dote on entertainers? When I turn on news, that is what I want to see. NEWS! Not Entertainment Tonight. I think this is a disgusting exhibition. Farrah Fawcett died and it was dignified. Karl Malden died and it was dignified. This is insanity. Did anyone notice that our PRESIDENT is in RUSSIA trying to promote peace? DOES ANYONE CARE??? Does anyone really truly care about Michael Jackson or do they just want to get in to see a free concert. Robin, I am shocked that you would cover such crap. You are usually my true refuge in the news media that has gone to garbage.

Jammie   July 7th, 2009 9:39 am ET

No, Michael Jackson was not your typical "role model", but lets put aside the whole child molester thing in the past. We as Americans should be grateful to have such a talented, world known star.. And please people leave the media alone. They are just doing their job and covering entertainment news.. To me if feels a little good to feel some relief from the deaths in Iraq, and missing toddlers. My heart does not only go out to the Jackson family, but the whole world right now, may God bless ALL OUR SOULS!!

Erica   July 7th, 2009 9:42 am ET

Yea Michael may have taken drugs, but can we not forgive that? As a huge fan i forget all the bad things hes done because there are more good hes done for us. I dont blame him for it...if most of my fans turned against me for something i didnt do id be depressed and heartbroken. The fans meant everything to Michael. He gave us all he had since he was little. He gave us his whole life and now we talk about his drug use as if its a horrible thing. If everyone in hollywood who has taken drugs or has had plastic surgery went on vacation..there would be noone left in california. So maybe if ur a true fan you would celebrate the life he gave you instead of looking in disgust at the little sliver of personal life he had.
Rest in peace Michael. we all love you. <3

Korki Buchek   July 7th, 2009 9:42 am ET

My memory of Hike Jackson is when he showed up late for court in his Barney PJ’s.

Outside of LA County…. We Really, Truly, DONT CARE about MJ.

Leave this tabloid crap for FOX "News".

JR   July 7th, 2009 9:48 am ET

I also noticed that none of the negitive comments are being put on air, figures.

Butch   July 7th, 2009 9:48 am ET

I think, on his head stone, it should read, "You can drive 10,000 nails, and not be called a carpenter. But touch one little boy...!"
He's getting too much "Air time!"

louis janis   July 7th, 2009 9:50 am ET

What goes around comes around, haters and wannabees, MJ show'd that from poor to rich back to being poor, yet in the soul of music, he made a life, a life of peace. Peace where he's at now. Remember, you all will go down that path. What you do in Life is up to you only. Rest now, the man in the mirror. Your fans, friends and family loved you.

Carlo   July 7th, 2009 10:14 am ET

I wonder if the children that Micheal Jackson settled with out of court think justice has finally been served today. My thoughts are with them.

D.H.   July 7th, 2009 10:28 am ET

I will always remember as a child growing up the songs Michael and the joy it gave to myself as to everyone. He will be greatly missed as remembered forever.

Mark T. Chambers   July 7th, 2009 10:31 am ET

There are far more important things going on in the world than minutae of this overblown stupid coverage all concerninng Michael Jackson. Has everyone forgotten he went to court over child molestation charges? The last time he paid the family out of court. Why would he do that if he was innocent? He wrote some good songs but what about China right now? He was just a really messed-up pop star. He's not a "god." Let it go.

Andrea   July 7th, 2009 10:33 am ET

I am absolutely heartbroken over Michael Jackson's passing. Thriller was the 1st album I ever owned and I used to listen to it non stop. He was an inspiration to so many, and we have suffered such a tremendous loss. I have definitely lost a piece of my childhood. My thoughts and prayers are with the Jackson family. He will forever be missed. We Love You MJ, Rest In Peace!!!!!!

Barb   July 7th, 2009 10:36 am ET

I only wish the haters would stop this slandering. No one was present when all these allegations took place. I am from the Elvis era and raised my children in the Michael era and well aware of all the stories. I don't believe MJ was a molester and never did. He was a child that never had a childhood and was horribly abused by his father. He loved children and left part of his fortune to children charities.
His music all carried a message and I am sure all you haters have been privileged to enjoy listening.
God Bless you MJ and rest in peace in the arms of your heavenly father. I love you and will remember you as the innocent and childlike
figure you became. Your music will live forever. RIP

Korki Buchek   July 7th, 2009 10:59 am ET

My 2nd Favorite memory of Mike Jackson was when he went to the LA County POPO Station to have his PENIS PHOTOGRAPHED.

To VERIFY the description given by an ELEVEN year old BOY about a FORTY-TWO year old mans' PENIS.

Mike PAID Plenty to get out of that one. This was the SECOND time he had to PAY.

I am Amazed by how many people turn a BLIND eye to his perversion.

Things that make you go Hmmmmmm......

David Dokter   July 7th, 2009 12:13 pm ET

No more Michael Jakson. please he was good in his early days but he became drug dependant, and the thing with hanging the baby over the railing finished him for me.his doctors & his so called friends & family are also to blame for his death ,if any oft them loved him at all they should have seen what he was doing & done their best to put an end to it Sandi Dokter FL

Mike K   July 7th, 2009 12:24 pm ET

I grew up to his music from the Jackson-5 on, but enough is enough!
Our President is making History in Russia, that will effect us for decades. I think we need a REALALITY CHECK!!!

Perez   July 7th, 2009 12:48 pm ET

People it is NOT okay for an adult to be a CHILD! I don't see how you people say that. Are you allowing your kids to play with 30-40 year old men? If so child protection services needs to pay you a visit. So what he had all these great songs? OJ had a great football career; found innocent, yet I bet you still think he killed his ex-wife. Yea it's sad he died, but why are people praising a child molester & the news makes it worse. If I was a parent of one of the kids who had been molested by this man, I'd have a video on YOUTUBE moon walking with joy to one of his hit songs. He has emotionally affected children who will in turn end up having the same problems he had, wanting to be a child or be with a child at an adult age. Inspired, no...Please half of ya'll only listen to him during Halloween.

Laura   July 7th, 2009 1:08 pm ET

Thanks so much for your coverage of the death and memorial of Michael Jackson. This is a significant part of pop culture history and everybody who recognized his talent and kindness will forever remember CNN's thorough coverage. Thanks again. He will forever be missed.

TONY T   July 7th, 2009 1:12 pm ET

Iam touched by the love shown all over the world for Michael Jackson. It speaks volumes to have a world display and show their heartfelt love for someone that is now gone. Very few people anywhere in this world have this type of truly positive effect on the lives of men, women, and children everywhere. Michael Jackson will be greatly missed beyond entertainment. No one is perfect and we all have our own shortcomings in life. People should reflect on themselves first before they cast stones at the life of Michael Jackson. He was a rare special person. May God bless his soul and may he now rest in peace. May God also shine loving blessings of comfort upon his family and loved ones. Thank you Michael Jackson.

Gayle Berry   July 7th, 2009 1:12 pm ET

He was wonderful and we will miss him. Noone ever mentions his third child's mother. Do you know who she was?????

Jody   July 7th, 2009 1:18 pm ET

Of course, people want to know about MJ. At the same time, HLN is covering little else. So when Jane Velez-Mitchell states that the world wants this massive MJ coverage she is merely justifying HLN programming – personally, as a possible representative of ‘the people,’ I would prefer more balance coverage. Where is China? We are the world? How can HLN not research 'most-popular emailed' news from sources such as NYT where MJ is clearly NOT the top story discussed?

Darrell   July 7th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

I also was born in 1958, I grew up knowing who Mickael Jackson was, I liked him as a young performer, entertainer, but that is the price you pay for wanting to be famous, especially being a younger one, I feel his father was a jerk, an idiot, a gold digger that used his family to get thier, but Mickael was not the same person as he was when he was younger, who in thier right mind would sleep with little kids, not even his own, he was sick, now all the wealth and money seems to earase all of that in his presense, but that is all right, any other joe would be commited to a mental hospital, its funny even ammusing when people seem to put one on a pedastal like a king, and others in a gutter, you do not buy silence to prove your innocence, you do it to shut them up and not talk, you change your face or the looks of it to run away from what made him like that, HIS FATHER!!!!! he is telling you what kind of person he was, and not even saying it in words, in body language, but he is treated like a king, he was a good performer, but his personnel behavior was a sickness, and why he got away with it, because he could,,,,he found out he bleed like us, you could die using drugs, now just hope the Doctors get what they got coming to them, now is the time to show the world that over prescriptions is against the law, for these crooked Dr,s.

Lisa   July 7th, 2009 1:22 pm ET

I'm appalled at all of you on this blog that are going on about MJ being a child molestor. First, he was aquitted..... Second, anyone that knew him speaks against this. Who are you to judge!! And finally, Michael is dead and a family is in mourning.....so let him REST IN PEACE. He was a great entertainer and deserves that respect. You should be ashamed of yourselves!!!

Rest in peace Michael and thank you for the music!!

Axel Gomez   July 7th, 2009 1:23 pm ET

How I remember Michael Jackson??? I have 28 years old and unfortunally I remember the worse side of Michael Jackson. I hope he rest in heaven. He will always be remembered, no doubt about that. From Puerto Rico.

Shirley in Grand Rapids, MI   July 7th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

My heart is deeply saddened by Michael's passing. I pray that Michael is looking down and see's that the world "Truely DID Love Him". It sickens me that so many politicians commit adultry and betray their country and get away with it. A dispicable crime. It's only when they are caught, they aplogize. They aren't ridaculed like Michael was.

Michael was innocent of all the accusations against him. His life story reminds me of how people condemed Jesus. They just didn't "get it". His deep love and compassion for his fans and children was so rare and misunderstood.

Hind sight is 20/20. The world is mourning you now Michael. They are finally beginning to see what a loving, caring, compassionate man you really were. Thank you for all that you gave of yourself while here on earth. We were truely blessed to have had you with us even if it was for such a short while. You will always be with us in our hearts. You have your angel wings now and I can only imagine how much more beautiful the music in heaven is.

Your legacy Will live on. God Bless You. You will be missed!

Dale   July 7th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

I realize that people liked Michael Jackson. But I'm seriously getting tired of hearing the same news day after day. This has totally monopolized every news subject on all of your networks. I'm tired of it. Simply tired of it. I don't care about the kids next guardian, I don't care what MJ was taking, I don't care what he did in his life. Please stop. Just stop covering this with such intensity. I actually care about real news happening around that world and want to hear about that – not MJ.

Diana   July 7th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

Michael was and is the Ying – Yang of the world. God Bless Him

Vicky Olson   July 7th, 2009 1:57 pm ET

I am truly sad that some people are making negative comments about Michael Jackson. Where is your respect for the dead??? You should be ashamed of yourself. We are all human and have flaws and I know those who are commenting have not led perfect lives and have not made the best decistions in our lives. We should not be making comments on issues we have no clue about in Michael's life. The media has exploited Michael, like they do all famous people. Michael did not have a childhood, therefore, he built Neverland and gave graciously to all children. Of course, there would be some people trying to cash in, please...if there was any truth, then they would have taken a pay off...Use your common sense. He has been helping children all over the world and only a few decided they would exploit his generousity. Of course, he paid the money, he has an unbelivable life and to have to go thru a couple of trials is very exhausting. There would certainly be way more kids affected if there was any truth to those horrible accusations and lies. I will NEVER believe one line of those liars out there in the world and YOU should be ashamed of your words about him at his death. Michael was a great hero, singer, performer, person, humantarian, and the list can go on. I will always love, resptect, and honor Michael for all he has done in his life. Thank you Michael for all the great music and memories. Love You Forever and Rest In Peace.

Vicky Olson   July 7th, 2009 2:07 pm ET

To the writer Perez: It suprises you that someone would try to claim child molestation??? HELLOOOO, what world are you in? Sounds to me like you convicted him when the world could not. Come on...what kind of person takes money over their child, unless it was made up..hellooooooooooo ..People like you should keep their stupidity to themselves..it just makes you look bad and ignorant. I can name you many starts that people try to take advantage of in this world. So stop bad mouthing people who can not defend themselves. What kind of person (YOU) bad mouth people who are gone...Awful...how do you sleep at night? What kind of person are you? Please, do the world a favor and grieve or don't but keep your negative comments to yourself because NO ONE wants to hear those rumors and comments.

To Dryfus: Michael is not a freakshow, and if you did not get him, then you are the one who lost. Michael was a gift to all, including ignorant people like you and Perez. If you do not have anything nice to say then SHUT UP!!! I am sorry to be so rude, but it just irks me to hear such ugly words about a man who has given so much to our world. God knows and will take Jackson with open arms.

Tracy   July 7th, 2009 2:35 pm ET

Michael Jackson was not just the King of Pop, Michael was the "POPE of Pop" to all that knew and loved his artful ways. Truly Truly the Pope of Pop, everyone knows who the Pope is and everyone knew who Michael was, and Michael was more then a King "He is a legacy and a true icon for all of the world"
Michael started out as a child and remained a child at heart.
Dearest Michael rest now, just Rest. God has you angel.

Forgive those who think they knew you, but really did not, forgive those who throw accusations around that you were a child molester, as you were Not, You knew that and so did the children that accused because their parents told them to say you did for money.
Michael forgive they not know the truth!

Pamela Broussard   July 7th, 2009 2:44 pm ET

I am home alone watching the Michael Jackson memorial service on CNN. I am so full of unexpected emotion. I am crying as though I have lost one of my own, and in a way I have. The pain I feel is real. I selfishly expected he would always be there. The world has lost so much in his parting and I feel it personally. I miss him so deeply.

Germain said it best. Michael was a Gift from God. We didn't treat him right so he took him back.

heather   July 7th, 2009 3:22 pm ET

I just dont get the american people, there are soldiers dieing in Iraq and Afghanistan for your freedom and its seems that no one cares for them or their families. People need to start pulling there heads out of their fourth point of contact and realize that Michael Jackson was a pervert and a nasty one at that, does it really make you cry to see him six feet under. there are countless amounts of soldiers that have died for your freedom because we stood up and said that your lives were worth protecting. Honestly it doesnt matter if you support the war, but support those around who have lost some in the war, unless Michael Jackson went to the front lines to fight beside me in combat, he can go to hell. It just goes to show where the american people stand when it comes to supporting the military.

CHRISTIE   July 7th, 2009 3:51 pm ET

I THINK GOD IS THE ONE TO JUDGE MICHAEL JACKSON NOT ANYONE IN THIS BLOG.AND STOP BLAMING THE MEDIA FOR SO MUCH COVERAGE THEY KNOW WHERE THE RATINGS ARE "THE KING OF POP" AND FAULT GEORGE BUSH FOR SENDING THE TROOPS OVER SEAS GIVE MICHAEL WHAT HE DESERVES ALLLLLLLL THIS AND MUCH MORE "HATERS KEEP WRITING"THAT MEANS YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Early on in the day I had mixed feelings about Michael Jackson. After the Memorial I have just witness I do have to say may he rest in peace. I had no idea of the pain the media could inflect on people. I do have to say that I was wrong about this man, I should no better than believe all you hear or read. Truly this man was much more than any one new but his very close family and freinds. Michael Jackson you will be truly missed by millions for many reasons.

I am a 100% MJ fan, my heart is broken completely. I really wish he wasn't gone. This is gonna take awhile for me to get over, and I'll will always remember growing up the songs of Michael and singing and dancin to them. <33

rex dunivent   July 7th, 2009 6:27 pm ET

watching the mj tribute makes me even more disgusted at the comments made by rep king (ny). i hope the jackson family could sue him for the comments about their son. rep stands for reprehensiful in this matter

Jan   July 7th, 2009 6:42 pm ET

I'm sorry about his death, but enough is enough. The media and crazy America is focusing on the wrong thing. Jackson was no hero, but our man and women in uniform most definately are. What's wrong with this picture. our soldiers are dying left and right and it seems like nobody cares. In the big picture, Jackson didn't leave this world much. Moon walking does not compare to an Americans soldiers blood.

Listen to all these deluded losers. He was a criminal who got away with a crime, just like OJ.
If he hadn't killed himself, I would have gladly done it for him.
And another thing, people who learned the truth about his preversions never listened to this perverts music again.
What, he had one popular album in the '80s and since then, maybe a single every 10 years?
And you people hold his dancing in such high regard when all he did was grab his crotch and thrust his hips at any children who were in the front rows.
And to all the "church-goers" out there who think he is going to heaven, according to your own religion, with all the children he felt up throughout his life, he's not going anywhere near this heaven you refer to. Any comments? Bring them on!

KathrynO   July 7th, 2009 7:33 pm ET

I'm really tired of seeing all of the stuff on here about people accusing MJ of child molestation. That was never proven and are the people who are saying this forgetting about the recording of that childs father back then who was taking MJ to court of those charges? He was caught saying on tape that he knew he was going to get away with helping his son bring these charges against him. Just because MJ truly loved children, did not make him a child molester. As far as him having children sleep with him, have none of you out there ever let your child sleep in the same bed with you? Does that make you a child molester? I think one of reasons he loved children so much is that they were more understanding of him and just accepted him for who he was. Get over it people he loved children, but in a good pure way, not the way some of you like to portray that relationship.

Shannon   July 7th, 2009 7:39 pm ET

I am sorry that the man died but why are we still talking about someone a week and a half after he died. Who cares, you don't see the news talking about the man who helped a local food shelter or the woman who took in three foster kids when they died. To the world they are a nobody, they don't matter but when someone in the spotlight dies of an overdoes all of a sudden the world comes to a standstill so we can "worship" the life of a singer?? Come on people need to stop the "idolizing" of celebrities and start spending more time on the real world.

Randy   July 7th, 2009 7:52 pm ET

The greatest birthday gift ever,Michael was such a big part of my childhood and just knowing that today on my birthday that the world came together and shared a little peace and love with each other was by far the best gift I could ever ask for.The moments when usher , marlon, and little Paris was all very emotional for me.Thank you Michael for the greatest Birthday gift ever.R.I.P.

KathrynO   July 7th, 2009 7:55 pm ET

MJ was truly a gifted person and will be sadly missed as many believe he was taken too soon from this earth. For all of you with the negative attitudes about him and who keep referring to him as a child molester, shame on you. He was not convicted of any charges and was found "not guilty". MJ truly did love children and not in the perverted sense I have seen posted on here. Maybe he loved children so much because they didn't critisize him or try to "figure him out". Children for the most part are pure at heart and I think that is why MJ loved them so much, they don't normally have the hate in them yet that a lot of adults do. As far as him having any children sleeping with him, have none of you ever let your child sleep in the same bed as you? Does that make you a child molester. MJ was a child at heart in his own way and interacted with children as if he was still one himself (or like the one he never got to be) and only some of you with corrupt minds want to take it out of context and make it something dirty. Just remember the child who accused him of these things had a father who was caught on tape saying he was going to get away with these accusations against MJ and try to ruin him.

Yes, Micheal Jackson is dead and gone. Yes, Micheal Jackson has made some mistakes in his life. Yes, it's time to let it go. Yes, the media has prolong this, but all of us is still listening and watching what is going to happen next. We want to know, so we could blog, text, twitter about our personal thoughts. We just have to remember, no matter what his life have been through the years, we have to make sure that our life is acceptable unto God our creator. Only God knows what happen and only God will be the judge on the promise day. Just pray for the children that he left behind that they will not be push and pull into the media bliz, but live a normal life just as before.

Wow watched the memorial today and I am so glad I did. What a fitting tribute. It was classy and heart touching and I shed more than a few tears. So glad it went off without a hitch.

angie   July 7th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

Michael will truly be missed. He was a great singer. Now everyone needs to let his family greive in peace and let him rest in peace. The kids are the most important thing and their welfare. I think Al Sharpton is a racist and should never speak in public anywhere. He always plays the balck and white theory. Maybe he is the one who don't like white's. There are bad and good in all races. Everytime you hear him it's always about a balck man is better. If Michael was better than anyone why was he in debt. God will not look at color but he will look at everyone's salvation. My God looks upon the works, faith, and geniues we have in him. Get over it Al Sharpton!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great HLN coverage . . . thank-you so much for allowing your HLN viewers to have a front-row seat of today's Michael Jackson
memorial ! Of course, having our number-one anchor, Robin Meade, along with A.J. Hammer and Jane Velez-Mitchell share their thoughts and feelings really did make the coverage seem very personable and up close . . . as they are a top-notch team of journalists (each in their own perspective fields) ! If one wasn't touched by the song "Smile"–which was sung by Michael's brother Jermaine–and the heartfelt words of love by Michael's daughter, Paris Katherine, then you are not human . . . and may God help you ! How did Jennifer Hudson perform so beautifully (with such poise and dignity) . . . we all know that she was remembering her not-so-long-ago tragic family members' losses ! She is a trooper, just like Michael was ! Michael was the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., of the music world: he only wanted to bring peace and love to people of all origins !! Michael's music is the reason MTV and other music networks are where they are today with their ratings and followers of their networks ! Of course, they will always have the Doubting Thomas and racist individuals who will continue to try and put down–and criticize–Michael for any actions which he was cleared of (or comment on his personal self-image) ! We hope and pray that the media/paparazzi find some sort of sensitivity by allowing his family members to grieve alone; but mainly let Michael's children have a normal, healthy, and happy childhood that they so deserve ! Rest in peace, Michael . . . you have completed your works and dreams here on earth ! God bless you, my friend !

Simon Sorensen   July 7th, 2009 11:59 pm ET

I'm trying to understand why HLN had commercials run during the MJ event right in the middle of speeches and performances. Was it the cable providers, or did someone at HLN decide that it was more important to pay the sponsors? Frankly anyone watching HLN would have changed the channel to another station. During an event like this, running a commercial is the fastest way to lose ratings. I DVR'd the event and unfortunately I chose HLN. I think I'm going to have change my cable news provider to one that has their priorities straight.

eileen   July 8th, 2009 12:12 am ET

just wanted to say what a wonderful tribute for michael. it gave you a deeper look at what he meant to so many people .and thats how it should be. thank you to the jackson family for sharing michael with the world . may they find comfort knowing how much he was loved by all

Gordon Miller   July 8th, 2009 1:28 am ET

In one of his first hit songs, Michael Jackson promised ""Whenever you need me, I'll be there.." And in one of his last masterpieces he asked, "In my darkest hour...will you be there?" - It is tragic that so many of those "friends" and family members shedding big tears at the memorial service chose to look the other way while Michael self-destructed as a prescription drug addict when he needed them to step in and save him from himself instead of just riding his gravy train.

Aaron   July 8th, 2009 2:07 am ET

The loss of Michael was sudden and unexpected. He, like very few performers could take control of a stadium during a concert. I never saw Michael in concert, but I can only imagine how responsive the crowd was, and how much of a showman he was in concert. We've lost a great legend in the music industry. Regardless of what some think about Michael's personal life, he was, and always will be a legend in music. His presence will be forever missed, and we are all blessed to have been a part of his musical genuis. Michael a legend lost, God bless and rest in peace.

ann   July 8th, 2009 2:08 am ET

Michael was truly an amazing and unique person. he will truly be missed. It's sad to know there are so many heartless people in the world. Michael never molested any children. It was a money scheme from the beginning. If someone molested my child, money could not pay me off! what about you? They got the money and went away. Now years later the then child admit Michael never touched him. They should be made to pay the family back every cent. Them that are making all these negative comments, what have you done for someone lately? have you given to charities by the millions, visited the sick in hospitals and provided supplies. feed the hungry. If you cant say anything nice, dont say anything at all.People that spread lies and do evil things against other people are not satisfied with themselves, so in order to make themselves feel good they try to bring someone down on their level so they want feel alone, or see the horrible sick person that they truly are.Leave Michael alone, let him rest in peace, and SEEK HELP FOR YOURSELF. WHEN YOU ARE TELLING LIES AND WISHING FOR THE WORST FOR A PERSON YOU ARE SETTING THE STAGE FOR YOUR LIFE. WE AS A NATION OF PEOPLE NEED TO START CARING MORE FOR EACHOTHER. HAVE EMPATHY. IF THIS WAS YOU IN ANY SITUATION, HOW WOULD YOU FEEL? THEN SOME PEOPLE GET A HIGH OFF OF HURTING OTHER PEOPLE. THEY ARE IN A SICK MENTAL STATE. NEED HELP AND DON'T KNOW IT.

GREG T   July 8th, 2009 4:23 am ET

Enough is enough. I am sickened by the amount of press coverage a sexual predator gets when he dies. The men and women who are killed everyday in combat operations around the world deserve this recognition not him. Get back to real news and human interest stories please.

Taylor   July 8th, 2009 6:03 am ET

i cried for two hours when i heard what paris said at the memorial.

Don   July 8th, 2009 6:25 am ET

Regardless of all the nay sayers Micheal was aquitted on all charges of child molestion so let the man REST IN PEACE. The memorial was very touching, I almost cryed thrui the whole thing the hardest was when the did we are the world and when little Paris spoken about her daddy. I agree with Al Sharpton what he said to Micheal Jackson's kids
Now thats he is gone can all the bad mouthing stop plz

Ruth   July 8th, 2009 6:27 am ET

I am so tired of the over the top coverage of MJ's death and memorial. The media put on this memorial and they just don't get that there are thousands of people who are sick of it all. Will the Jackson family pay the bill for all the police coverage in L.A.? MJ was not our President, was not any great hero that will go down in history. America is so off balance when it comes to what is important in life.

dave canfield   July 8th, 2009 6:29 am ET

A great dancer, singer and showman. But also a pedophile, drug dependent confused circus of a human. He is not a hero but a messed up "man" who is now being idolized . what a screwed up thing..like his life.

michelle   July 8th, 2009 6:33 am ET

I actually won tickets but could not get from Texas to Calif. in time. I thought it was a beautiful tribute. I thought the gloves all the brothers wore was a beautiful tribute to thier brother. I cried from the first word out of Mariah Carey's mouth. And then Usher just made my heart break but when his beautiful daughter Paris talked about her daddy I could not handle it. I believe he had a very sad life as he was making the world smile. And that is just to sad. I believe he was probably the best daddy (not just a father) in the world. No matter what some think they cannot deny his accomplishments! As for me, I feel so much for his family but especially his children who have a long road ahead with all the investigations and court dates ahead.

Marty Beck   July 8th, 2009 6:43 am ET

Enough already!!!!! Can these people possibly exploit these kids any more?????

Ashley   July 8th, 2009 6:49 am ET

I feel sorry that a lot of people focus only on the negative things that people have done, and they reflect on them more after they pass. With Michael Jackson, he may not have been perfect, but the one thing he did for the world is entertain. Fans cried at the sight of him, millions tried to dance like him, and others dreamed of having a voice like his. He gave unselfishly to others and did what he could to make others happy.
For once, what people need to do is focus on the good others have done, including Michael Jackson. No one knows his story, they just speculate and assume. The media has done a hell of a job making a man that was a pop culture icon to a circus train wreck derived from the greediness of others (molestation charges). Along with others, I do wish for the news of Michael Jackson to fade so he may rest in peace and have his memorial kept in the memories of all. However that isn't so, as more news will show how drug dependent he was...yet more ammunition for the media to fire at. His family has suffered enough...rest in peace, Michael.

michelle   July 8th, 2009 6:50 am ET

I also think they will find it was drugs he was taking but it does not make me hate him. It just makes me feel even more sad for his life.

Eileen   July 8th, 2009 6:54 am ET

I was always a huge fan of Michael Jackson everysince I was 5, , he was a great man, he is everything what good is. I really tried to make it the memorial couldn't make it, what would I have given to recive a ticket to go, as I watched it on tv I was amazed, i have seen nothing like this in all my life ever I will always remember this day, I was glued to the tv as well as millions of others from across the world. I felt a huge connecetion as I watched it on tv which that is something I have never felt before. What really got to me is when they started singing " we are going to see the king" then enters his casket, I was stunned, tears pouring down. I am really proud of his family and thankful that they brought his casket there for everyone to see,so we could all say goodbye to the king. I was really amazed at the song stevie wonder had made for michael that was amazing, in fact the entire memorial was amazing and classic. I was really proud of his daughter getting up there and speaking, i felt she was saying goodbye to her father and speaking up for him. It's amazing to see how this man had people show so much respect. today I feel like a piece in this world is missing.Today as I watched the memorial i felt tears of pain, joy, sadness, love, we have lost so much. I just think what a beautful person he was, he had so much to give, so much compassion, warmth, love. There will never be anyone like michael Jackson ever. I really hope he gets buried at Neverland, this is where he would be most happy at. I feel like today everything stopped today as we all watched the memorial, because today was a day of rememberance of a great man.

jake   July 8th, 2009 7:50 am ET

it shows what a sick society we live in to honor such a pervert. maybe it was not proven but money talks in this sick society .oj was never convicted but we all know he did wrong too. money again.

jane   July 8th, 2009 8:13 am ET

I will never understand why people that are not involved think they know everything. He might have been accused of a lot of things, but I never believed any of it. People say a lot of things for money! I think he was a kind and gentile man and I will always believe that. His children show how loving and caring he was. Give Mr Jackson the respect he deserves, if not in life, at least in death. People are too quick to judge others. He gave us so much, we owe him something also!

Terry   July 8th, 2009 8:27 am ET

I agree, I am tired of this whole thing. Those of you who say he was acquitted; I agree...but would you have left your child alone with him overnight????? hmmmm.... Greatest Entertainer who ever lived??? Come on- We are leaving out a few GREATS Bob Hope for example, Lucille Ball, Frank Sinatra, Long Long Long list....not sure he is THE GREATEST...Raised the most $$??? Well, we KNOW HE DIDN'T DO IT ALONE!!!! We need to remember all the celebreties who did their part to make it happen. Let's remember a PERSON who did make great contributions to music, who had a big heart, but lets not make him more than he was. GET REAL!!!!!

Miriam Rader Downing   July 8th, 2009 8:37 am ET

A little tired??!! I am sooooooo sick and tired of the coverage of his death that I don't even turn on the news anymore. He was not the head of state of a country....he was not a scientist who discovered the cure for cancer...he was an ENTERTAINER who died under mysterious circumstances. ENOUGH ALREADY~

Dru   July 8th, 2009 8:39 am ET

My prayers and condolences go out to the Jackson family first off!

Micheal was the man....to some, a myth....but no doubt a legend!
His songs were so far ahead of his time! His dance moves were untouchable.....many try to copy his style, but he flowed like water!
His works as a humanitarion was done from his love of the human race.....many artist nowadays wont do that!

Sure,he had some issues and allegations along the way,but before anyone judges him,ask yourselves if your perfect? All of us got some knock on us we aint proud of,but only God can judge him now....hope he went out with a good conciense!

Erin Westergren   July 8th, 2009 8:40 am ET

The City of LA is asking for people to pay the bill, why aren't the networks that broadcasted the memorial contributing? I'm sure that they made several advertising deals considering all the people that watched it.

Natalie   July 8th, 2009 8:43 am ET

He was a part of my life since I was 9. I have a piece of my hear missing forever. I pray that his children will be protected and well cared for so they can become strong adults. For anyone who believes for a minute that Michael would EVER harm a child, I for one just do not and will never believe it. He was a boy who never got to be a child and therefore chose to live in a world surrounded by all the things he didn't get to experience. Please, let us all allow him to reast in peace. He gave so much to so many in life, he deserves it

L J   July 8th, 2009 9:05 am ET

Can someone who has actually spoken to the children who professed to be molested by MJ? I was molested at the age of 4-years-old, and feel that once that happens to someone, another molester can be spotted right away! And I believe I have enough discernment to see what is in the heart of a man. Michael was nothing but sensitive, understanding and forthwith for all mankind, recognizing that we need to learn how to put others before ourselves. Is there anyone out there who NEVER drank beer, smoked a cigarette, popped a pill, used cocaine, had sex before marriage, spoke ill-feelings about a classmate or neighbor, used profanity, stated that someone was stupid or ugly, told ourselves that we were better than others because we have money or prestige or friends? How are we with our own children? Are we showing love through concern, conversation, fortitude? How do our children represent us? Can we continue to pray that soldiers can be brought back home now? Can we pray that jobs can be restored for all who wish to continue to live by which they are accustomed to living? We have too much to be thankful for to speak such detriment of something we were not witnesses to personally. PLEASE!!!!

Pete   July 8th, 2009 9:06 am ET

I have a lot to say about the incredible lack of "news respect" that has been given to the death of a strange, and sick man. ENOUGH> ENOUGH. ENOUGH> lets talk about something that really matters, as opposed to lining the pockets of those left with M's record catalog.

mike   July 8th, 2009 9:13 am ET

Did you people watch the memorial yesterday, stop dweling on the acusations and negativity and celebrate what he did for the world. Remember he was proven innocent and i believe he was indeed inocent.

Rest in Peace Michael. You will always be remembered

Seth Talmer   July 8th, 2009 9:15 am ET

We are all sad for this event and unfortunately Mr. Jackson was not getting proper care.

Donna P   July 8th, 2009 9:19 am ET

I am getting tired of all the coverage making Michael Jackson some great hero. I am not taking away his musical talent, everyone forgets HE HAD TO MAKE OUT OF COURT SETTLEMENTS FOR BEING A PERVERT, what about his victims I am sure that they are not to pleased about Michael being made into some sort of hero.
Donna

Hal Freedman   July 8th, 2009 9:22 am ET

This is ridiculous. Fine, he was an "icon." And, he's dead. Now let's get back to what's really going on in the world: Iran, the economy, etc. I think Mark Sanford and Sarah Palin must have done a lot of praying to get God to take Michael, Jackson, so they could stay off the front page for a few days.

I can only chalk this up to the dumbing down of our populace over the past 25 years! Politicians can stay in office forever now that they have succeeded in making citizens so stupid .

Eric   July 8th, 2009 9:34 am ET

I work the night shift and was asleep with the TV on. I heard the choir singing "Going to See the King". I awoke and from that moment I couldn't take my eyes from the TV. It seems that I was supposed to see that tribute. I can't imagine missing it. There's no way that one cannot conclude that he was truly a loving, caring, special person. We must remember that is what God truly wants in us.

I am really disappointed in alot of the bloggers here, but this is America n everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if its wrong..shame on all u haters...MJ is gone...he was someone's Daddy,ya'll..have u no respect or decency? C'mon...seriously.
My heart and prayers go with the jackson family, and I am grateful they shared his life, his memorial service, and his loving family and friends with all of us yesterday.I think lil miss Paris Michael Katherine Jackson was very brave and her daddy was probly sittin in that crescent moon Brooke spoke of with tears of love and pride streaming down his face. ..MJ is with God now...he has met the source of the love in his heart and knows his days of persecution are over...his works have not gone un noticed.God bless and hold strong the Jackson family...RIP Michael

Susie   July 8th, 2009 10:18 am ET

MJ's memorial was beautiful, and Jermaine and Paris ripped my heart out, but I think Michael would be mortified to know his fans are being asked for donations to pay for the security! His family certainly has enough money to repay the city of Los Angeles, or his estate does.
I also think it is rude of the family not to have issued a statement thanking the LAPD for the fantastic job they did. Why did the family have a private viewing the night before, a service the next morning? Has it occured to anyone that he may have been buried in the am, and the casket was just for show?

Dillard   July 8th, 2009 10:20 am ET

To terry ..I agree with you on the leaving your children with him, but what does that say about the parents that did leave their children with him?

forest in indiana   July 8th, 2009 10:20 am ET

as a person who hails from the same area as MJ his music was the soundtrack of my life thats how I will remember him NOT all os the negativity that swirled around him if anything his death should cast a light on addiction to painkillers and maybe even help everyday people who are addicted to them RIP MJ! and my condolences to the Jackson Family Northwest Indiana STILL loves you all!

Dillard   July 8th, 2009 10:26 am ET

And to the rest of the haters! i understand fans coming on here , and if you feel they are wasting their time on a child molesting drug attic , you are entitled to your opinion. But what I don't understand is, How sorry must your life be for you to go to a web site to comment about a person that you don't even care about either way? I mean I understand "Fanatics", but if you did.t like him...why even waste your time?

Dillard   July 8th, 2009 10:30 am ET

OK…This is off subject because you don’t have this story posted. But How Dumb are we as a nation when we get on NATIONAL TELEVISION and tell ALL THE TERRORIST OF THE WORLD, that the security in our Government Buildings SUCKS?

Honestly, does that really make sense to you?

Malar   July 8th, 2009 11:22 am ET

MJ have been my idol since I was a kid,I am still in tears when i think he is gone but happy that he finally resting in peace and gone to a better place. My deepest condolences to his 3 wonderful children, may god bless them.
Lastly,to those are still finding reasons /proves he was not a good man. Please stop it,he is gone for good let his soul to rest in peace. What will you get by proving.Just stop it for the sake of his children.
MJ you are not alone and you have done the comeback concert as you promised cause today everyone in every part are listening to you.RIP THE KING OF POP.Love you

Chanell   July 8th, 2009 11:26 am ET

I'm tired of all these ppl judging MJ. He was acquitted of all charges. There's no way in Hell if I had a child that anybody would be able to pay me off if my child was molested. This was clearly abt money. The kids that he tried to help those are the ones that drove him to the ground. MJ had all kind of celebrity kids around him and none of them never accused him of touching them. THE SO CALLED KID WHO ALLEGEDLY WAS MOLESTED BY MJ HAS A VIDEO ON YOUTUBE SAYING THAT HE WAS NEVER MOLESTED AND HIS FATHER MADE HIM DO IT FOR MONEY. HE'S SORRY AND WISH HE COULD'VE APOLOGIZED TO MJ. IF ANYBODY COULD MAKE SOMETHING IN THIS WORLD DISAPPEAR THAT THEY DIDN'T WANT THEY WOULD PAY TO MAKE IT GO AWAY. THESE 2 KIDS WHO MADE FALSE ACCUSATIONS AGAINST MJ DROVE HIM TO THE GRAVE. THE POOR KIDS HE TRIED TO HELP. POOR MJ

Michael, you will be missed and loved, not just for your musical geneous, but for the man many knew so little about. One of my favorite movies as a child was Captain Eo. I remember when it first came out, and begging my parents to let me see it over, and over again.

ms t   July 8th, 2009 1:54 pm ET

Elvis is not the "The King of Pop" Michael Jackson is the "The King of Pop" and will always be, there is no comparison and i don't see why people are continuing to try to compare the two, Michael Jackson was a far better entertainer, and humanitarian than Elvis. I love you Michael, you will be missed!

tear drop   July 8th, 2009 1:55 pm ET

What makes Michael Jackson a pervert? Is it because society says so? Perhaps, it's more about a case of a few incredibly feibil-minded individuals. For the record, I'd leave my child with Michael Jackson. He's probably one of the safest individuals. If a person is a pervert because they have a big heart, I must say: we live in a remarkably screwed up society!! What he has/hasn't done, is between Him and the Lord, let's leave it there.

Janine   July 8th, 2009 1:55 pm ET

I was wondering if that Macaully Culken and Emanuelle Lewis came to Michael Jackson's funeral. Weren't they good friends years ago?

When we were kids, my cousin Brandon and I had little notebooks with a picture of Michael Jackson on the front, and we wrote our secret code in it. We would sing his songs and try to do the moonwalk....
He'll always be a special part of my childhood memories.

Alexander   July 8th, 2009 4:24 pm ET

Let's keep it real: Michael was found not guilty. He is in the Guinnes books of world records for the most contributions raised by an entertainer. To answer the question would I leave my child overnight with him? I would not leave my child overnight with anyone but I do trust him.
Sinatra, Elvis, The Beatles, Michael Jackson. Michael was the last, so far among the greats in the music business and as far as having the most fans world wide.
The way the music business is right now and movie industry is a joke.
For the last, let's say late 90's to now there has been no one to have that major impact and if someone says Miss Spears, get real. She can dance looks somewhat good but can't sing unless she has help with some auto correction.

Was Michael the best of the best?
I say yes, especially this generation. Will there be another? Time will tell. You can never say never but he was the first to sell as many records as he did.

There will never be another Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Tiger, John Wayne, Bogart, etc, etc. But there will be another great. Let's just hope that when it happens that their private life will be just that. Remember "All they are, are entertainers and what we make them is what we want them to be not who they are...sometimes"

Too much for way too little. And who is paying the megadollars for the LA throngs at the Staples Center? If there is ANY public money spent on this, it is another fine example of our public officials having their heads unattached while the Caloformia government sinks slowly (ha!) in the west..

Nancy   July 8th, 2009 8:14 pm ET

I do wish some people including Nancy Grace and that loudmouth Peter King would realize that Michael Jackson was found innocent of those charges or have we now changed the justice system to whatever we want. I believe Michael Jackson had beautiful simplistic soul and was just terribly misjudged.

Pammie   July 9th, 2009 8:07 am ET

THIS is NEWS, People!
Two members of the Georgia National Guard’s 48th Infantry Brigade have been killed in action in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense said.

The Pentagon says the two were killed on Monday.

They are identified as 25-year-old Sgt. Brock Henry Chavers Sr. of Statesboro, who was assigned to Americus’ Company D, 2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry, and 24-year-old Spc. Isaac Lee Johnson Jr. of Columbus, assigned to Rome’s Troop A, 1st Battalion, 108th Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition Squadron.

Defense officials say they died July 6 of wounds from an Improvised Explosive Device near Kunduz.

Their remains were returned Wednesday at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

Ed Arnold   July 9th, 2009 8:30 am ET

Enough already.
M. Jackson was a great entertainer, yes, but he was not the second coming of Christ. Bury the man and move on. This was way over the top for an entertainer. There are to many more important things happening in this world than to have a 24/7 broadcast of Mr. Jackson"s death and memorial.

Joe   July 9th, 2009 9:06 am ET

I think it is time to let Michael Jackson rest in peace and for the media to let it go. The Jackson family will continue their circus show until they get all the money. Money is all they care. Everyone wants to get a part. Close the door and now concentrate in getting us some health coverage as doctors, hospital and pharmauceutical companies are killing us with high cost. A five minutes doctor visit cost $150+ and a pain killer at the hospital cost $100 and more. Hospitals charge for items or services that the patient never received. Doctor are pill pushers and exam pushers. In many countries health care is control by government and works fine. Doctors must spend 20 minutes with a patient to really do a good exam. Here is a joke. England is not a socialist country neither Germany. We could have the same care. But greedy health care providers will not let it happen and buy poiticians.

Paula   July 9th, 2009 9:28 am ET

Although I may have doubts about Michael Jackson's legal issues, at 57 years old and having a son who listened to MJ's music throughout his teen years, I am one of the first to admit that MJ was without a doubt the most incredibly talented song writer we have ever seen; he wrote so many beautiful songs. We should all remember Michael Jackson for his performances, his talent, and his heart. It is not up to us to judge him for any wrongdoing and until we have walked in his shoes and lived his life, we should all just remember him for the good he did. We will all be judged at a later time; judging each other while we are here on earth is not our place. I feel so sad for his children; it is evident he was a good Daddy and he will be missed tremendously by his children, his family, his friends, and his fans. Let's let Michael Jackson rest in peace.

Shelly Baker   July 9th, 2009 9:33 am ET

I really loved Michael Jackson's music & the videos that went with them. He was the ultimate entertainer. It sadens me that we all could not see or share the personal side everyone spoke of him at his memorial. I would have really enjoyed knowing the man in the mirror. The most I remember about is funeral is when Al Sharpen (I beleive) said that the King of pop is now bowing down before the Kink of Kings. To have a service so spiritual and to talk about Jesus and God at this time in our lives, I really do applaud the Jackson family for not comprimising their faith. God bless them. Thank you. Love your show.

john   July 9th, 2009 9:49 am ET

Why did the news world put so much time to cover a child molester, drug addicted low talented freek show? We have young men giving their lives over seas and they only get 15 seconds of mention on the news. Michael Jackson does not deserve this much attention. Please give them a little more respect, they are in a war not taking drugs and molesting kids.

My thoughts;
Dr. and his employee Debbie Rowe were involved, he was married, she got pregnant.
Mj wanted a family..Bingo...Dr off hook, Debbie Rowe got rich,

I thought of writing a short poem today, thus wanting to share:
July 9, 2009

Loving Heart

Beautiful grown innocence,
singing benevolence,
moving his feet, a gift,
precious time is so feeble.
…loving heart.

Beautiful eyes sometimes cry,
testing our complete heart.
soft giggles heard little,
cherishes God’s prayer.
…loving heart.

Beautiful thoughts and beliefs,
travels the Prince succeed,
evening of Paris breeze,
treasures Blanket of joy,
…loving heart.

Beautiful memories to share,
family, friends and fans,
giving as one must breathe
God’s time on earth to live.
… loving heart.

Micheal Jackson truley is one of a kind..i couldnt agree more with his brother marlon. maybe now they will leave you alone!

Herb   July 9th, 2009 1:01 pm ET

From what I've read hear most of America feels that its OK for a grown man to sleep with little boys if he is rich and can sing. I just find that so disturbing. What is this world coming to? Can anyone justify this? When is it OK to hurt children? If he was poor and untalented would you all still feel the same?

Gibbs   July 10th, 2009 7:45 am ET

i feel for the family of michael jackson, but is anyone else getting sick of hearing about it?

Robert Mansfield   July 10th, 2009 9:41 am ET

I am shocked and saddened at the low road the Morning Express is taking with the reports on Michael Jackson. The man is dead. Do we have to rehash every pill taken during a period of drug addiction? From the film taken at the rehearsals, he was obviously functioning and had made some progress on recovery. The reporting from Robin and Richard (formerly two of my favorites) has been reminiscent of the style of the Nancy Grace show (which disgusts me so much I almost stopped watching CNN all together). Please, give it a rest. If and when there is some actual news, present it–but please stop the tawdry tabloid presentation. I am truly saddened you have chosen to take this route.

Bobby W Brown   July 10th, 2009 10:22 am ET

It amazes me how there is soooooooooo much to say about Michael Jackson since his untimely death. Yes, the world is shocked, but I don't understand how all of a sudden everyone is talking so negatively about misuse of prescription medications. No one ever cared about it before and now it's all anyone will talk about now. He was getting his glory at first and now he is getting the negative reports against him. I think a man of his stature should be remember with all the wonderful things he did and the caring father he was (who cares if he's the biological father or not), but he was their "father"! I think there are more negative nancy's out there than the ones that want to uplift him. He may have been excentric, but he should always be remembered as THE KING OF POP that gave everyone their money's worth from day one! Can't the man rest in peace and his family have their time to mourn like we would want to. I think the ones that should be pointed at are the ones that tryed to ruin his name and image, I bet they wouldn't want anyone digging into "their" personal lives for all the world to see, hear, read, blog, twitter and message about them!!!!!! So PLEASE ((((( CHILL OUT)))))) with the negative reports and comments. From a TRUE fan from the beginning and always!!!

Bobby W Brown   July 10th, 2009 11:04 am ET

LA is wanting hand outs ! Come on, They should have thought of it before it happend . They should have charged more for the vendors that set up for the memorial . Thats the ones that should be paying for the clean up . But honestly that event probably brought more money in to the city then any event it has had. but, no they wasnt worried about it then they was blinded by the root of all evil, (Money). Get your cities jail and DOC to clean up isnt that what your town pays taxes for anyhow. Whos gonna donate for his kids and family, That should be the issue but, No we dont hear you asking for that Oh , that doesnt matter just like all governments you just worrie about yourselfs. I wish i could ask for donations everytime the government puts me in a bind matter of fact . (I just had family from out of state come visit me and it made my light bill higher than normal can i get a small donation for that). Come on for real . You dont need any help you just want more money and are quietly just want his family and others to give you more money this is just a camoflauge a cover up to gain more money OFF of Michael Jackson. Before you cant anylonger.

Bobby W Brown   July 10th, 2009 11:36 am ET

This Perez And Jim B at the top yea this is a comment page and we have the amendment freedom of speech . So I guess you can say what you want. But , i also will say what i want This one is addressed to Perez, You should get your facts together before speaking out against a man of his stature . Not guilty was the verdict i saw and where I'm from that is called slander . Familiarize yourself with that . And quit being somewhere you have no idea where your at. And the soldiers they get plenty of respect and they are hero's . I Hear it everyday . Now i turn my attention to Jim B. Same thing slander you have no idea what your talking about just sitting there with nothing better to do but talk bad about someone not only Michael Jackson now you wanna throw Clinton in on it .Hes a man just like all men we make mistakes just like your doing when you falsley accuse someone of acts they didnt commit . If your gonna comment something, please know the facts before you speak your mind because there are other people out here that do appreciate what Michael and Clinton has done and lets remember both for what they accomplished . The world was a better place with both still doing what they did best.

This is the perfect time to push for centralized, computerized monitoring of Rxs. There are many people who "Doctor shop" to get multiple prescriptions. A network that links the pharmacies and tracks patient Rx's would save a lot of lives and protect a lot of people. But too many fight the computerization of medical information because they are afraid that it will "invade their privacy". The only ones who need to worry are those who are hiding something!
Please have Dr. Gupta explain this to the public.

Please STOP STOP STOP no more Micheal Jackson enough is enough lets move on there are so many more things to talk about.

Larry Saccone   July 13th, 2009 8:08 am ET

Please already... Enough about Michael Jackson! Regardless of weather he was murdered or not the man (though never convicted) has an extremely questionable, at best, integrity with children. The man was at the very least a pervert if not a child molester. Having to listen to that idiot Al Sharpton go on and on is enough to make me loose my appetite. Let's talk about something that actually matters to the majority of the intelligent public. Perhaps the economy? Healthcare reform? Time to move on people.

Clare McAfee   July 13th, 2009 9:37 am ET

Michael you were true royalty. You changed the way we look at life & music! You will be missed. Rest in Peace sweet Prince... :(

Fred   July 13th, 2009 11:44 am ET

The coverage of Michael Jackson's death is a disgrace.it deserved no more than a mention for the first 24 hours.

Samantha T.   July 13th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

Michael is gone now and it's time for it all to be over! Yes it's true he was accused of a horrible thing but he was found not guilty! Everyone has their own personal opinion of him but he was one of the most talented entertainers of our time and he has left us with some amazing music for years to come!

Me   July 14th, 2009 8:32 am ET

BigBob   July 15th, 2009 12:03 am ET

I feel sorry for Michael Jackson's family for their loss. I feel sorry for any family losing a loved one, but come on now the guy was getting pretty freakish for me. I liked him better in the 80's, but now, not so much. NEXT NEWS STORY PLEASE!!!!!!!

Dolores Talanoa   July 15th, 2009 5:43 pm ET

I am wondering why all the ICU nurses are not stepping up to tell the world about Diprivan. Expert Jim Moret said, on HLN, that only anesthesiologist can get Diprivan. I have given that drug so many times to patients who are on ventilators. I have never had to account for how many bottles I used. If I ran out I would just call pharmacy and ask for 10 more bottles.

Errieta Carter   July 16th, 2009 9:33 am ET

My heart is still hurt.....the world did loose one of the greatest...to me:"The GREATEST of ALL"
My deapest sympathy goes to his close family and his children.
May God continue to guide you in finding peace and freedom in your loss. Michael will always be loved by his fans.

To the people who have no respect for others other than their opinion created and fed by the media......you believe what you want to believe....and know, one day you also will know the truth....and for now answer this....WHAT KIND OF PARENT WOULD EVER SELL THEIR CHILDRENS INNOCENCE.....? If you have children...how much do they cost? It is sickening to think something bad of one human and make the other one right. I never believed the garbage that has been put out about MJ, and "Mr. Jackson" to you all out there who are so freely and eager to accept rumors.......I pray all of you never have to face what abviously MJ had to deal with...the same way you judge someone you will be judged also! If you can't say anything nice....don't say enything at all! Your inside must be very undeveloped and your sight very short.....it makes me think....? How much would you settle for if one of your kids was.....by an adult.....? I would never settle for any kind of money in this world....I would want the person to be brought to justice and go to jail....what did the parents of that child tell their kid by settling for money.......wow....that is something for all of you ignorant humans who want to judge others...quickly...to think about...in this case Mr. Michael Jackson....! Please everyone get a life and let the dead rest in peace! OH and did you read that the child came forth and said it was all lie? His stepdad put him up for it??? What a world are you all living in???? Back off!!!

I will always love youMichael J. Jackson, YOU will live 4 ever in my heart till we meet one day again. R.I.P

I'm also 50 years old and grew up with the Jacksons. Michael was a one of a kind entertainer and will be missed, but I didn't really see him getting old like all people do. Michael lived a fairy tale life without the normal day to day problems people face. I'm unemployed because of the economy and in process of losing my new home I worked so hard to build. Many people in the US are facing hard times because the jobs have moved to Mexico and China. I bet Micheal didn't worry about us when he was spending millions on a new home or blowing money on hair restoration and facial reconstruction. Let's come back to reality and bring back manufacturing to the United States where we can stimulate the economy once again. See ya Michael, we must live on.

I am still sadden by the death of Michael Jackson. He holds a special place in my heart always and forever. I remember my tenth birthday, it was Michael Jackson themed, it was the best bithday ever. Love you MJ. I just recently saw "Michael Jackson's This Is It" and let me just say that it was everything I thought it would be. Michael has done so much for this world and for the people he cared about and it saddens and infuriates me to hear all the negative things that people say about this man, he was a beautiful human being who cared about this world and the kids of this world more then jesus himself. Yeah he may have been accused of hurting those kids but deep down inside you know and I know he was innocent of all charges like Michael himself said, "If I am guilty of anything, it is of giving all that I have to give to these kids" Micheal you will truley be missed May you rest in piecel.
