The video tape was absolutely a disaster... the teacher should be evaluated to see if she is fit to teach our children!
I don't know what is going on with the school system these days. More and more teachers are either having affairs with students, beating up to remove their rage, racial profiling kids and the list can go on....
Isn't it about time that there are some strict guidelines on who can be a qualified teacher and the code of conduct they are expected to follow?

I just noticed that Michael somehow got drug into this, oh how quickly we forget. There was more than one accusation of misconduct on his behalf, was there not. The second did not make it to the criminal trial level due to a civil settlement and the first attempt to prosecute him failed because of a rambling mother who provided testimony that did not coincide with prior statement provided to the authorities. Could there have been a civil settlement behind the scenes on that one also. This lady does not deserve to be compared to Jackson in any manner.

Hold on folks!!! Based on the news reports and anything else on the internet, this was an unintentional mistake. It would appear that we have a teacher who likely spent her personal time and money to attempt to create something for her students. Most parents would have never mentioned it or thanked the teacher for her efforts, however, when the opportunity to grasp some air-time and likely seek compensation for the "mental anguish" suffered by their child was presented, we have parents indicating the need for child counseling. I certainly hope that no attorney will seek to feed off of this, and before you say anything else, I am a lawyer and the type that usually gets all the hard comedy remarks. Regardless, this "lady", and I have seen nothing that would indicate anything otherwise about this teacher, was attempting to do something above and beyond what she was hired to do and simply made a mistake. What was it the old boy said: "Let he among you who is without sin, cast the first stone". Based upon my review of all the news stories and interviews it would appear that this was a respected teacher, who performed her job well and by mistake, her personal life was thrust into the national media spotlight. The message to her is this: (1) proofread and review anything that is burned on your computer, (2) keep your head up, and remember (3) in six weeks everyone will likely remember your name but not recall why. Neither a quality life nor educator should be wasted over this incident.
Also to the Dad seeking attention and counseling on television: Have that "little talk" with your child, you should have done so already before this. I did that when my son was in the 3rd or 4th grade. Assuming your child is honest, as was mine ( I was shocked to find that he knew much more than I expected) and simply will needed some physiologic descriptions to straighten out some misconceptions.

I was so happy that Michael Jackson's Memorial and Celebration was executed appropriately and in good taste. For having such a short time to coordinate, the family of Michael, the entertainers, and other organizers should be so proud of their efforts. Down the road, if the opportunists and media circus people and other agencies involved in this tragedy, could use the same restraint, most importantly for the well being of the children, perhaps all will find closure and a sense of peace with Michael.

Hmmm this could actually happen to any of us; if the truth be known. Its an incredibly stupid mistake. She should have 'reviewed' her DVD first - simple solution. Since she didn't; I'm thinking a re-assignment would be in order. I don't think I would want to be in her shoes; she has lost credibility with parents and others; and though she's likely a thoughtful, wonderful teacher; she's lost the opportunity really to impact their lives now in a positive way. I don't think she should face charges. This isn't like child 'molesting'. It was her totally legal (and incidentally NOT immoral) personal life that unintentionally was shared with her class through a very bad mistake. I say; leave her alone and don't forget .. but for the grace of God .. so go we all.

A lack of smarts! While a good thought this could have been prevented by simply going to the store and buying some new CD's.

Baloney - sexist gender bias - the same kind that goes on in our court system every day 10,000 times a week in america - the guy who was stupid enough to do this - GOES TO JAIL - LOOSES HIS CAREER AND IS LABELED A SEX OFFENDER - the woman oh well we all just got lucky.

Who will respect women or the courts unless you get some real equality going in this area of the law too?

The greatest concern that I have isn't related to the teacher, but rather the interviewed parent. Yes, the teacher did something pathetically stupid and by videotaping herself, engaged in dirty behavior that no child should see. Probably she should be reassigned and disciplined, but fired and charged? Get a life. Accidents happen and sometimes they produce tragic and/or trashy results - that doesn't mean we grasp on to the most emotional and devastating consequence we can think of. In reality, the video was no different than a child walking in on his/her parents "engaged in the act." Its a simple explanation: "It is something that Mommies and Daddies do when they love each other very much." If this guy thinks his child needs counseling, then he'd better just pack it up and give up as a parent. If he's not man enough to be an actual parent and explain the situation, then he's going to have a very difficult time through his child's teenage years. Teenagers are exposed daily to questionable content from their peers and media. This "handwringer" is exactly the reason that children are running wild in this country - parents incapable of being parents all the while insisting that children are perfect and that everyone else is wrong. Teacher = stupid, not criminal. Parent = pathetic
