I wonder if all the folks patting themselves on the back, telling us how green they are miss the irony of doing so on a computer which contains among other toxic goodies, titanium. Titanium smelting is a huge pollution problem. Show how green you really are by giving up your tech toys.

My printing company became certified by 2 world organizations (Forest Sterwardship Council) and PECF (program for the endorsement of forest certification) to use certified protected paper products. We already recycled paper waste from the printing process and now recycle all of our office paper waste, as well.

I make a habit of cleaning up all the defecations from the dogs in my yard and add it to my compost pile I built. I then utilize all the naturals in my lovely gardens throughout the yard. It is amazing how much green my little doggies sparky, daisy and milo contribute through the year to our gardens and flowers.

We've done green by having garden trash cans in the garage for aluminum, paper/cardboard, and glass/plastic. We take it all to a dedicated recycle dumpster at our local grocery store. We use rechargable batteries for portable cd or mp3 players and such. We also have CFL bulbs in the entire house, but to take it further, our multiple light fixtures only have half the bulbs screwed in all the way unless we really need the extra light. We also turn off all the unnecessary electricals in the house we don't use all of the time...computer, monitor and printer, rechargable hair trimmer, that kind of stuff.

We're going green with new lightbulbs, cloth bags, unplugging chargers and keeping the heat at 65. If I could only get my daughter to turn off lights and tv... she's the green one in the house!
