The FBI wants YOU!

Posted: 10:46 AM ET

Business Correspondent Jennifer Westhoven

If you just got laid off, or you’re looking for a job … how’d you like to work for the FBI?

ALT TEXT

"FBI" looks great on a resume.

The agency says it’s going on one of its largest hiring blitzes in its history – calling it “mega hiring” – and we’re not just talking about special agents either. In addition to 850 new agents, the FBI says it plans to fill over 2,100 staff jobs.

It wants language specialists, computer experts, intelligence analysts, finance experts and people with experience in nursing, security and auto mechanics. There are even clerical jobs available.

You can put your hat in the ring and apply at the FBI’s website.

Good Luck!

Sure if you have low self-esteem and want to control others. then government is the place for you.

It is not about protecting, but CONTROLING YOU. That is what the government is truly all about.

Shut up Henry.

A job is a job.

LONELY PLANET   January 16th, 2009 11:44 am ET

...just like any other potential job......they have 500 applicants for every position...especially the government, where benefits are fat and growing, unlike starvation in private industry..

The FBI jobs are as necessary as the criminal defense jobs – unless both sides exist, justice cannot happen. The questions, then, is whether or not the sides are fair. Under Bush, the executive branch has gained way too much power, and we've moved a bit away from a strictly "innocent until proven guilty" society.

I am a female, an electrical engineer (EE), and I just got laid off. I would love, love, love to work for the FBI. Wow!!! It will be just awesome to work for the "FBI" !

Alphonso Walker   January 18th, 2009 8:03 pm ET

What are the qualifications? And what are the requirements? I do love to be one.

UBONG EKOI   January 19th, 2009 11:23 am ET

Do the FBI recruit from other countries........

Mike   January 21st, 2009 11:30 pm ET

The FBI is one of the most sought after agencies to work for. You should consider your qualifications, pride in your country, and maybe some mental and physical conditioning before you sign up. It is not for the weak of mind.

Souna   January 27th, 2009 4:10 am ET

I've applied to the FBI before. I wonder if the qualifications will be the same as before and will they be as strict and precise?

Does anyone know how many people the single family home construction buisness employs? I'll bet a ten times the automobile industry, yet we get no bail out!!!

Johnny   February 2nd, 2009 12:44 pm ET

I guess they would say that they are an EOE wouldn't they? If they really were, wouldn't they hire a convicted felon? Of course not, the felon would catch more criminals than they would and it would put the police,FBI,CIA and DEA to shame. Think about it, a criminal knows more than any cop alive. Even if a felon past was 15 years old or even older they wouldn't keep your application. They'll gladly feed it to a shredder.

Wow. Work for the FBI? Why, I'd be like Elvis! Not since the days of the Crucifixion have I sought to work for these criminal cults. Maybe I could do a duet with Pontius Pilate! Yessir some good terroristic domestic w/ pay?!!! Sweet!

Felonious Bozo Industries   March 15th, 2009 3:19 pm ET

The OTHER Organized Crime Racket pays better for the same type of domestic spying, criminal activity like extortion and terrrorism. Why join a subsect of a paltry Organized Crime Syndicate that only has a four percent planetary populace membership?
