I am very happy when talking to Carl Bernstein today he shared his opinion of the media's responsibility of not being so cynical when it comes to who President Elect Obama appointing Sen. H. Clinton.

We are focusing on all the opposing subjects instead of the fact he choose the right person for the job and his attempt to bring a well rounded team.

I feel these two people are going to work together in harmony to create a much needed better America. I believe it is media's responsibility to bring this to the attention to the American people.

Carl Bernstein is my hero of today!!!!
The Republican party's comments are again out of touch with the change we need.

Robin,
I don't want this to come across as a stupid question, but all we hear about these days is "the recession". My question is, what is the true definition of a "recession" and what is the difference from "recession to depression?"

My daughter would love Bob to call her because he likes kids. She is homeschooled and does not like to get up to start her lessons and he could call and cheer her up with the sun rise because we live in arizona and the sun always rises nice here.

If the stability of our country hinges on the recovery and success of the "big Three" , we are in for a ruff ride. First, they say they need to sell cars, get rid of inventory when consumers can't even keep their homes. Secondly, they want to implement salary cuts to $1 a year, however they do not say a thing about the bonus of millions GM anf Ford have published to have recieved and Crysler refuses to disclose. Finally, they say they will layoff 30,000+ workers, what they don't tell you is that these workers will still be making almost as much as they were while working. They get unemployment then subpay makes up the difference or at least most of the difference. Where is the incentative to even work is you can get paid to stay at home?

why doesn't the government just buy a new car for every American. just might make sense in the long run.

C Randall Smith   December 4th, 2008 7:07 am ET

Why should we bail the UAW and the Auto Industry.

In the 1980's nobody bailed out the Steel Industry. The Union pension fund was raped and we steel workers were out on the street without jobs, lost over 20 years of pension and insurance.

Just does not make sense....

Hi Robin,

Has anyone asked the auto makers how many factories or parts they have in other countries before they close the ones in the US. Maybe Richard could get this info. I hate to give them the money and they send it to another country. I do not have a problem with other countries but we should tak care of the people first.

Thank you for brighting up my day

I already have an alarm clock. I have my tv, set to turn on a 5:59am. The volume is turn up a little, and the channel is set for Headline news. I wake up to this every morning,[except for weekends] " Wake up sleepy head, I'm Robin Meade and this is Morning Express." That's the only wakeup call I need. Thanks though.

I don't think this will lost on Robin, My son-law had a good Idea. with amount of money the Government is giving away. Why not save SS and give The Preident Elect enough to rebuid the infusturture, by charging the ones getting the money pay 3%, or 4% interest , they might decide they don't want the money. But if they take it , with amount we are taling about the Goverment would have enough money to do many things.

Geo   December 4th, 2008 9:11 am ET

Am I the only one upset with this automotive bailout? Here is an industry that is begging for money which in turn will come from, but not limited to the auto workers who's jobs they have shipped over seas. I feel this should be addressed by the Goverment also. Bring our jobs home. This would put thousands of people back to work, and I feel would go a long way to stimulate the economy.

Please syop sticking the "expert" label on everyone holding an elected position. Bill Shuster is one of those that voted against the original "bailout" bill then changed his vote to yea when they decided to save the wooden arrows for children industry – obviously a critical part of the American economy. When Shuster speaks, "Dubyah's" mouth moves.
