New Music Tuesday, reprise

From Senior Writer Jeff

ALT TEXT

The clash, ca. 1978.

Every Tuesday we tell you about some of the biggest new CDs in stores.
This week, we didn’t have a chance to mention on air one that I really like.

It’s "The Clash: Live at Shea Stadium."

The concert was October 13, 1982 … at the height of their popularity … and as their personal relationships were starting to show some strain.

Less than a year later, Mick Jones was gone, and so was one of the great rock bands ever. (Let’s not dwell on the "Cut the Crap" era.)

If you’re as much a fan as I am, 'Live at Shea' will be a real treat.
They break right into "London Calling" … and fire through 16 of their classics.

Feel free to leave your reviews in the comments field below. And thanks for watching New Music Tuesdays on Morning Express!

hello from shiprock, nm. Right now we are trying to fight over money and i guess that will make us. Our troops are still out there wondering why our country is falling apart while they are supporting us. I believe there is a sight. Or are thre troops coming homing home to fight our corporate down fall.

This financial mess has left me making lots of changes. I don't drive as much as I used to, I seldom go out to eat and I have started going to the used clothes places now to get my clothes, where I see more and more people doing the same thing. I am wondering if we will ever see any accountability in the government or the financial institutions to hopefully make the average person's life decent again. I am a senior citizen and now worried about social security. We will all suffer over this crisis and people are going to have to learn to make s simpler life instead of just spending all the time. No credit cards, if you can't afford something, you will have to save up and buy it.

My wife and are both on ss the way medacare b is set up for our Meds we have to pay out about $1ooo.oo per month and it is not possible for us to save for anything. One way to help would be if we tried to eat a really good food diet. I believe that would help save money.Maybe some people should check this out. A lot of us eat a lot of junk food .

Hey Robin,

I just joined today and I was really excited to see my all time favorite band featured and I was happy to see Jeff (your senior writer) plug the release of "The Clash-Live at Shea Stadium". The Clash did not play many shows in America, so I excited about this release. I see he mentioned the tragic loss of Mick Jones and it was truly a hit to the punk rock community. However, I believe that the loss of Joe Strummer (lead singer and song writer passed in December of 2002) was the biggest blow to the punk community, other than the closing of CBGB, and he will always be missed. This is a band that revolutionized the way bands stood up for their rights against the EVIL music corporations. The old CEO's that didn't care about the music, or the message, but how much they could stuff in their bottomless pockets. In the immortal words of The CLASH from the song 'The Guns of Brixton'....."When they kick in your front door, how you gonna come? With your hands on your head or on the trigger of your gun?"

Love you Robin...you're rockin' that RED dress today!!! Thanks for waking me up every morning and tell Bob to keep up the antics...he cracks me up man!!!!
