All of the news stations are so negative. No-one has anything good to say about anything. It is always focused on the bad. What has happened to America? I don't want to turn on the TV anymore and lsiten to the news. I'm actually getting sick over all this mess.

Dale Bruder-Wisconsin   October 8th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

The saddest thing about the upcoming election is that the media actually decides who will be the next president. They very biasly manipulate the general voter population (sheep) and convince them to vote for the media's choice.

Why is there no mention of the Acorn fraud investigations?

Texas   October 8th, 2008 5:16 pm ET

What is sad about the whole debate is when our candidates and media search for the "facts" ... both nominees are apparently misleading Americans.... so if they are misleading us now by not telling the truth... what will they do in office.... we talk about values which is what we all want but to lie in order to achieve their goal as President is not "Values". Personally I planned on voting for McCain but now I really don't know who, if either ,I would vote for....

It is heartbreaking to me to hear the repeated statements regarding the so called AIG retreat weekend. My mom works for AIG and everytime I hear the reports I want to scream TELL THE TRUTH! Please Robin, have your fact checkers look into the actual weekends events and attendees. The statements being made are hurting millions of people around the world who rely on AIG as their source for insurance. AIG has more than one side to it, the financial services devision is the one who got itself into a total mess, and possibly with illegal actions to boot. AIG Insurance is NOT part of the failings that have taken place. The "retreat" weekend was organized a year ago. The vast majority of the attendees at the conference were independent business people and their guests, not AIG employees. In fact, out of over one hundred attendees, there were only 10 AIG American General employees who were there to represent the company and participate in the meetings and discussions. The contract for the conference was arranged in 2007 and the commitment to their distributors was made at that time. AIG felt it was important, despite the current times, to keep the commitment to their distributors. PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE report the truth so that the American people can gain, if even a little, back confidence that is crucial for the overall well being of our country and economy. Hundreds of thousands of people around the world would lose their jobs if AIG went down, please consider this and provide all the details to us when you report the news. Thank you inadvance for your time and consideration.

Obamallama's denial of surge makes democrat look like a chicken hawk.

Will in California   October 9th, 2008 6:20 am ET

Morning Express Times read:

<>

People shouldn’t be too hard on McCain for his “that one” reference to his democratic opponent. After all it was probably payback for calling John, “Jim”, during the first debate. After all this time, for John to be called, “Jim”, in front of millions yet the names of terrorists were named correctly by the Dem opponent, it was an insult.

Artie D   October 9th, 2008 8:00 am ET

Robin,

I think that it shows that if you let the fox in the hen house there is no chicken for dinner. The regular working people are loosing their money and the government is intrested to save the people with money in the market. Here is a solution Take the all of the people in the country regardless of income or money in the bank and devide the debt by that number and get a percentage and that will be the new tax rate. Only tax on what they earn no dedutctions no tax breakes everyone pays the same rate on the profit that year. This means that the rich pay the same rate as the poor NO LOOP HOLES.

To simple I don't think so!!!!!!!!!

razor2edge2003   October 9th, 2008 8:12 am ET

What really has me upset is that no one is saying anything about Obama and ACORN and Fannie Mae and Mac, Look at the numbers, What has Obama REALLY done??? NOTHIN. He lacks thinks leadership, and the ability to make good decisions, look at his church, he says that Bill, ( the killer) just lives on his street. but infact he held a party at BILLS house!!!! yea, just a person that lives on his street. Just look at his decisions that he has made. Is that White House LEADERSHIP

razor2edge2003   October 9th, 2008 8:26 am ET

First of all. I am for McCain. And I really did not watch it. At Word. Wanted to. But, Obama, is good for 1 thing. And that is talking. He has done nothing in the past but make nothing happen, he has ties to Bill. ACORN, and Fannie Mae and Mac I need say nothing more other than the fact that just on that he dose NOT, qualify for the Security Clearance for the white house. I have looked into it, and its true that he can not have one because of the fact that HE dose know bill (the killer) and his Church of hate. Point blanke

Marian   October 9th, 2008 8:28 am ET

Okay...Anyone see Bob and Lance Bass in the same room Because I swear Bob was in Dancing with the Stars this Monday!!

Frank   October 9th, 2008 8:30 am ET

With what are elected officals are doing. Its time to end this 2 party system. If you are elected they should all work for the common cause the USA. It is time for change. Please wake up America. We need help now.

Randy   October 9th, 2008 8:32 am ET

Why aren't you guys talking about the voter fraud...we already don't feel like our vote counts for much since the electoral college trumps us. ACORN and Barack Obama obviously have a connection and obviously that's one of the reasons he's so arrogant and looks down his nose at ordinary people...he's already got the 'dead' and non-existent person vote!!!

Is it true that CNN has a vested interest in the Democratic party? Is it just another entertainment industry thing?

Guess I'll have to concentrate my viewing on FOX since they seem less biased

People should be outraged at the way McCain and Palin are talking, they are being play ground BULLY'S. My wife and I have four children and teach them not to talk down or lie to anyone. I have lost all respect for these two candidates

Mrs. Texas Teacher   October 9th, 2008 8:54 am ET

Obama discusses issues. McCain continues to rant!

That One was on Target. McMaverick was rude and testy. What's new?

Mrs. Texas Teacher   October 9th, 2008 8:59 am ET

I think McCain was really very irritated that Obama would not be insulted by his tactics and get down and grovel with him. McBush offers nothing new but slinging mud in all directions instead of discussing the mess that his party has gotten us into.

McCain voted in lock step with Bush for 9 years along with the whole Republican congress. Now it is time for elections suddenly they are ALL mavericks until it came time to pass this stupid bailout bill. They as usual, could not deem to add their votes until it was loaded with pork.

I will go for THAT ONE! He is the ONE.

rachael fredrick   October 9th, 2008 9:39 am ET

On behalf of the American people, We deserve an explanation from the Palin family. The same as we did with Michelle Obama. This is because none of the coverage on Todd Palin is expressing the hidden truth behind the AKIP membership he "use" to be involved in. This group of people denounced America remember? Now i dont know about the rest of America, But I believe that would be considered a "radical group". Michelle Obama was bashed for not being proud of her country, Todd Palin has done the same thing!!! Lets demand that we get an explanation for this!

Brady   October 9th, 2008 9:54 am ET

Where do we talk to robin meade? I am 20 years old, nearing 21, at Virginia Tech. Essentially you are very good looking. Are you dating? Come to Virginia Tech and present a story down here, I'm sure you can find something!

Nick   October 9th, 2008 10:12 am ET

I don't understand why, we the middle-class taxpayers of this country have to give money to a failing insurance company, and thier executive can take a $500,000 spa vaction to de-stress.

Then we have to give them MORE money to keep from failing.

I'm a middle class worker who pays my taxes, and I can't get a loan to go to spa for a week to de-stress!

DLP   October 9th, 2008 11:01 am ET

Mrs. McCain wants to trade shoes with Obama? Her family probably hasn't gone a single day in their lives without health insurance. There are such inequities (massive discrimination) when it comes to health insurance and the health industry in general. Preventative care is imperative! My health plan now is the ER. I have no health insurance and when I did pay into a plan recently all my pre=existing problems where not covered so why pay the premiums? Some insurance companies can even deny me insurance because of my pre-existing conditions.

McCain's plan I will most likely be denied from any health plan because I must find my own insurance plan and will most likely be denied not getting the treatment I need and will die from my disease Obama's plan at least I will have the opportunity to fight this disease and if I could have had preventative care I probably wouldn't be at the stage into my disease as I am.

Mrs. McCain trade shoes with me for just one day! You try to get a doctor when you have to do a self-pay. Doctors don't and won't even accept you as a patient. I've been trying for a year now to get a doctor for just one visit to get a referral to another specialist so I can get something as simple as a CAT Scan! Mrs. McCain will never have to witness a loved one die due to the lack of healthcare. Many of us without health insurance endure watching our loved ones die needlessly every minute in the United States. Dare you to wear my shoes. I dare you to try to find a doctor for me with my conditions just for one day! I bet you would fail! Now imagine this was happening to your mother!

Henry   October 9th, 2008 11:31 am ET

My headline would be "SAME CRAP, DIFFERENT PEOPLE". I heard the same things mentioned every election year from all elected and want to be elected people. I am tired of the bull. As far as I am concerned they are all talk and no action. Full of empty promises. It shows more after the election.

Antawn Patton & Ciara Harris   October 10th, 2008 2:28 am ET

We'll look at the election. This is the character of Dr. Jekyll(John McCain) and Ms. Hyde(the inexperienced Sarah Palin). I agree with James Carville this election is over. John McCain, just love to inject his bulls*** tactics to these innocent uncommitted voters and scaring the living h*** out of them, along with his no-good so-called Sarah Palin. Why would the h*** he do this. Fact: He doesn't give a s*** about us, it doesn't take a average person to figure that out. Another thing. He says that Obama doesn't get it. John McCain don't get it. He want's to get off the subject of economy. He is truly an idiot. How could you expect people to voyte for you and, you can get on the issue. Barack Obama be prepared for McCain to bring up Bill Ayers. It's not going to do him no good.

I got advice for McCain and Sarah Palin, for John's sake, Play the blame game, because this election is OVER NOW, and i guarantee Amy Holmes, Sean Hannity, Joe Lieberman(who thinks that Obama should lose)that John McCain won't win this election by a longshot, i'll be damned. Let's see who the dumb idiot and the dumber idiot

John McCain & Cindy McCain: Republicans should be some dumb idiots for Picking Palin as his running mate,
it's is really stupid to pick an inexperienced woman from a small town that I never heard before, and I don't give a rats-a** about where the h*** she came from.

John now had his wife twist the words about funding his son for the Air Force. Truth is stranger than fiction, that's why John McCain is scared to say his comments to Barack Obama's face instead of saying it to the public. That shows HE'S MORE OF A COWARD NOT OF A WAR HERO, OR A VETERAN. I would like to see John MCCain go to hell.

Soulja Boy & Tiffany Evans   October 10th, 2008 3:03 am ET

I agree with you Antwan Patton, McCain is the idiot and his wife and Sarah Palin is the SUPER IDIOTS. McCain don't care about us. That is fact. Can't argue with facts. Senator McCaskill is right and she preached it to us JOHN MCCAIN DOESNT GET IT. I want him to lose the election, I want to question his integrity. I know Obama's integrity. But does McCain realize that people want answers, not showing negative ads like a d*** coward he portrayed himself to be. No, Obama cares abouts us 100 times more. I guarantee the Americans want change and we know who that person is.

Also, Cindy needs to stop making harsh comments, I will not tolerate it. Or i will shut it up foe her. This s*** os complete nonsense.
Sarah Palin is a joke. I'm just laughing at McCain's pick. It's is a reflection of what happened in the election, this will forever be remembered foe years to come.
I expected Joe Lieberman or Mike Huckabee.
I did not know that John McCain has that much stupidity in him to choose a person who has nothing to offer in this country.

It's Obama 373, McCain 165 on electiond day-which proves that Republicans are being stupid, and more stupid because 35%of the blame goes to Sarah Palin bulls***
acts, 30% goes to the chairman/manager 15% goes to the old Charlie Brown(John McCain), 4% goes to Cindy, 3% goes to that McCain Supporter Joe Lieberman, 13% goes to the rest of his staff.

Barack we got your back, if McCain brings up Ayers, or Rev. Wright. in the next debate. We'll talk about Charles Keating. I do love for Jon McCain to be a terriost rather than a president.

Christopher L. Thompson   October 10th, 2008 7:27 am ET

Robin,
I think, It just shows how Ignorant, and Careless our nation is.

KATARINA   October 10th, 2008 9:11 am ET

I dont know whatgot in to America they look more what color is your skin where you came from than dealing with real issues and look at their bank acounts and prices and think hard when was better before bush or now ,I dont know why are ome republican woters are blinded ,because our goverment wont fill up your pokets they empty it .ASK YOUR SELF WHEN YOU VOTE DO YOU WANT CHANGES THAN IT IS NOT JMC(R).THINK HARD AND SLEEP ON IT!!!!!!!!

Lisa   October 10th, 2008 9:42 am ET

I actually registered to vote this time around and have taken interest this time in both canidates and what either of them can do for our country. The back biting that these canidates do is very frustrating when there is so many other issues that should be the only agenda on their plates! What would happen if nobody voted for either of the tickets! In the last few weeks I would like to see the back biting stop and more focus on real issues not ignorant statements such as Obama tried drugs, or bringing up statements that his pastor said blah, blah, blah. One thing I can say at least Obama didn't lie and say he never inhaled ! Obama atleast knows what its like to struggle he's been in our shoes ! I kept an open mind but McCain and Palin are a joke! Obama atleast gives our family hope!

lloyd labarge   October 10th, 2008 10:59 am ET

when is the public going to realize that raising taxes on business is not going to help our econmy. bussiness payes NO TAXES. if their taxes are raised then that is passed on to the consumer in the form of righer cost for their product. i support john mc cain

Otey Brabston   October 10th, 2008 11:00 am ET

As an older person I have never ever seen such goings on in our government. All of our congress are in the lobbyist's pocket and there is in my opinion not a SINGLE honest politician. Why would anyone spend the vast amounts of money that is being spent to get a job that doesn't pay but a 1/4 million a year? The choices include a part of the Chicago crooked political machine and a multi year Senator who has at least once went against his party. There has been so much that our "UNBIASED" news should be reporting that is swept under the table. The news media must think the average AMERICAN is stupid. NEWS FLASH.....we aren't. I worked 48 years and paid my bills and can't remember ever having anything given to me by the government. WHY do we have to give anyone anything? If you work and save get it for yourself. It's time for the American public to DEMAND an accounting of the finances of all our lawmakers but where would you find an honest man or woman to do this?........ certainly not in our Government.

jenny   October 11th, 2008 10:33 am ET

have you noticed sarah palin is wearing her hair down? in all the pictures i've seen of her as governer of alaska, her hair is up and when she first started stumping down here-up. but recently, since right after the couric interview, its down and it has been ever since. i think this is for sex appeal, because that is all she's got. She and her coaches are hoping if we are distracted by her looks, we won't notice how blunderous her mouth is.

Eveynn   October 13th, 2008 10:16 am ET

I was in the 7th and 8th grade under the Kennedy Administration. I came from a family of nine children of a father struggling as a small farmer in the San Joaquin Valley. In school, my brother and I would have to leave our classrooms ten minutes before lunchtime to work the line in the school cafeteria so we could earn our lunch. The Johnson era changed that. Our country got hooked on entitlements to the point that we are where we are today. The interesting thing is that neither my brother nor I ended up as criminals; never on drugs or alcohol; we both got a college education; we both have been responsible citizens of the country. We both rose above the humility of it. Anyone can rise above anything if they want to.

Mickey Perkins   October 14th, 2008 8:00 am ET

Eveynn, bless your soul. Your character stands out bright and shining. I've been told humility is not so much a gift as a character trait most of us have to work for. Having earned it, it can help us through tougher times realizing the good things we do have in life, rather than emphasizing what we do not have. I am proud for you and your brother for your college educations, and am also proud you learned the value of work at a young age. Many, MANY people never learn that they are not special.

B Lewis   October 15th, 2008 10:14 am ET

The eyes of the world is upon america. The previous and present administrations have made our once proud and strong country look like a comic book to the rest of the world. I hope we can elect a president that will be able to restore our country to its previous position of greatness in this world. I believe Obama is the man. I think Mccain is using Palin to get sympathy votes. I don't see why race should be an issue, after all, we have always had white presidents, are we afraid of the possibility of 1 black president?

Wesley Gene   October 15th, 2008 9:48 pm ET

McCain asks, "Why can't we have transparency." The question is, "Why didn't we?" McCain has had his shot and the country is far from where it should be given his efforts over the many years. We can't see the John for the Bush.

Shauna Castillo   October 15th, 2008 10:45 pm ET

Previous to this final debate I decided not to vote! I've followed all the debates and was bored to say the least. After tonights debate, I've switched my decision. There was an obvious desperation in McCain's debate tonight and Sen. Obama was very humble and at ease to answer very difficult questions. Obama was specific and didn't ramble.

Robin I'd like to say I watch you every morning but the truth is I "listen" to you every morning....the tv is on in two different rooms in the morning so I can hear what's going on while I'm cooking breakfast for my son and when I'm putting my face on!

Shauna Castillo from Topeka KS

Steve   October 16th, 2008 12:46 am ET

I find it very hard to believe that we may have someone (Barack Obama) running for the office of President of the United States that may not be eligible to be in the position. Can someone answer the simple question that should have been answered long ago before American citizens elect someone to this office that may not even be a citizen of the USA.? I would think this would be on the top of the pages of news coverage everywhere...Is someone out to lunch on this issue.?. Whats missing here???

Rudy Aquino   October 16th, 2008 8:21 am ET

Can you confirm that statement by Sen McCain when he was
defending Sarah Palin's qualification in last night's debate?
He said "she's a BREAST of fresh air" then corrected himself
to "breath of fresh air", just wondering!! : )

valerie   October 16th, 2008 8:36 am ET

I'm not Joe the Plummer – 250,000, wow pay that to a school teacher. Maybe I can then afford a nice home and pay my bills or even just survive without worrying. 3% of 250,000 is $7500. 3% more of my 45000 means the differences in staying in my home and back to renting.

JB Waterford   October 16th, 2008 9:00 am ET

Joe the plumber? I'm Josh the DJ! And I can't believe that it is 19 days before the election, the country is in the middle of an economic crisis and neither candidate can even understand what it is to be in your mid-20's knowing that the unforeseeable future holds no promise for success.

I will be passed my prime before any of the effects of either politicians policies take effect. Maybe my generation is just the "lost generation."

Don Mead   October 16th, 2008 9:24 am ET

A simple solution to todays credit problem:
Bring back the ability to write off our intrest payments on credit cards, auto loans, and lines of credit off our taxes. The average joe would have a chance to get themselves out of debt, i'm tired of goverment promisses..

Atlpetne   October 16th, 2008 9:38 am ET

I have to say that I believe the election is over and the next President will be Obama. Has anyone told Mccain that generation X and Y comprise the bulk of our population at this time in history. They will decide this election. They are more concerned with education and the economic "future" not the past. Obama represents the future and McCain is seen as a gruppy old baby boomer realizing that is day has come and gone. As far as his statement about Obama's economic and tax plan is concerned, Class warfare, Great !! It's about time that we give the assets of this nation back to the middle class. This nation was it's strongest when we were a nation of small farmers and business owners.

rod   October 16th, 2008 9:51 am ET

regards to joe the plumber. If he can afford to buy a plumbing business, he is doing pretty damn good in this economic climate! I do not think he is american average man.

Zank Desai   October 16th, 2008 10:01 am ET

I have been watching Morning Express every day before i go to work and that's the reason i choose to post this comment over here and not on any other media website. I did see the entire presidential debate last night and it was nothing new for me. It seem like McCain has become very desperate after looking at recent poll. He has nothing else to offer , hence, he has started attacking on Obama with things that Americans are not concerned any more.

His biggest mistake is to select Sarah Palin as his running mate just because she could related to mid age women in USA. I have decided that i am definitely going to vote for Obama (Not democrate) and not for Republican McCain.

D.M. Dodds   October 16th, 2008 10:11 am ET

At least J. McCain verbalizes his disgust at the corruption & greed of politicians. There is a way to CHANGE that...a few years ago I heard someone say we need a new Law ...ONE LAW, ONE VOTE, think about that for a moment. That would put an end to Lobbyists and all the Porkbellies. Of course, the people would have to get involved and put huge pressure on their Congress men and women. It could be done!
I am really tired of the Government spending our tax money without our approval...who isn't. ONE LAW, ONE VOTE , that is the CHANGE we need.
Actually, big issues need to be voted on by the PEOPLE, not the politicians or the Supreme Court!

Aaron   October 16th, 2008 10:24 am ET

Robin – I'm having a hard time understanding how "Joe the Plumber" represents the "middle" class. A 1/4 million dollars?? Really? I wish I had Joe's problem! I always thought I was middle class . . . I must be in the lower class then.

What is the break down of lower, middle, and upper class? (salary-wise) Maybe the candidates should be talking to the lower class.

Thank you,

-Aaron

Carol Hatfield   October 25th, 2008 11:02 pm ET

Why aren't Palin's children in school? They appear with her all the time during the school week.

Carol   October 25th, 2008 11:18 pm ET

This is for Steve. Obama was born in a state-Hawaii. McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone. Is he eligible to run for president?
