"Gosh Darnit" Palin Pulled It Off!

I think she did wonderful. This was the first VP debate that I actually watched from start to finish and its entirely because of her. Her folky attitude and down to earth tones really made the debate worth the watch.

It's said that Palin exceeded expectations... but quite honestly, were they really that high to begin with? With Palin in the VP office, I fear for the future of your country. I have never heard someone speak so much and say so little in all of my life.

Sarah Palin looked sharp and ready to lead this country out of the abyss!

Someone PLEASE share the correct pronunciation of the word nuclear with Gov. Palin. I can't take another four years of hearing "nukuler."

Sarah Palin continuously tried to be "one of us." By the end of the debate I was tired of the "You betcha" and winking in a cutesy "I'm one of you" way. I thought she came off as totally hillbilly when she was trying to be "Main Street". She did a good job of avoiding questions she couldn't answer, and twisting things away from the real subject. In my book, she gets a 2.5. Joe Biden, smooth and confidant and not condescending, earned a 3.8.

Palin mischarecterizes like the best of the McCain campaign -

1) Continuely talking about plain talk to try to brainwash the crowd into believing she's a plain talker, when did she talk to us plainly about any policy that was relative to this election? She was more concerned (like the Republicans seem to be this year) at attacking Obama and Biden.

2) McCain voted against funding for troops when the bill had a timetable, Obama voted against funding when the bill had no time table, back to the congress should not sign open checks to George W Bush concept.

3) Palin and McCain do not point to the constitution when it comes to concepts of issues, Obama and Biden do keep the constitution above their own interpretation of the law.

4) Without Gaffs, this debate actually became about the issues, something Obama/Biden will win on, and McCain/Palin will suffer. Obama / Biden , not McCain Palin, have the advantage of having the issues of our time on their side.

I hope this shows the severity of this election, and how scary this country will be if McCain Palin is elected because people have had mistrust issues with Barack for some unknown reason (darker skin??). Hopefully those people will look into Barack Obama issues and history, and learn he is no congress man for profit like McCain, but a true statesman, a representative of all the positive changes we need to get over the past 25 years.

Gov. Palin obviously prepared to answer a small, specific set of questions. Whenever she could not answer the question asked, she either switched to one of the prepared answers, or spouted unrelated slogans. Expectations for her performance were so low that it was difficult not to do better than expectations. She did not, however, show any deep understanding of the problems of the economy.

Biden was so much better. She(Palin) was just saying what she had been told to say. I don't think she can think on her feet like Biden. She is not ready to be President if something should happen to McCain.

Palin proved to me she doesn't know what she's doing. All she did was to speak in generalities and sound bites. Not only did she avoid specifics but she often avoided the actual the questions. I can't believe that the CNN analysts consider this to be a tie. She pulled the wool over those peoples eyes. Anyone who thinks she did a good job didn't pay too much attention to what was actually said.

BIDEN WON!!! Who wants to elect a vice president/president possibly who WILL NOT answer the important questions????? She avoided the sensitive issues, so no, she did not stumble!

I understand that it would not fit into your agenda to force Obama onto the public but: Biden made several important mis-statements. Once the fact checking is done I'm sure you will NOT report it.

After watching the debates it is completely obvious that Sen. Biden talks alot about nothing. Kind of like a Seinfeld episode – the funny show about nothing, and Gov. Palin's show is about honesty and truth. Thanks! Hi Robin I am so excited to read your book. Come on!

I can only say this, I told my husband when McCain picked up Palin, " this is his (McCain) ticket". If he wins its totally because of her!

Palins' folksy demeanor may have swooned the "Joes Sixpacks and the Soccer Moms" but peel away the facade and what do you have? A Cheney in a dress. Both are hunters and both are dangerous to be next in line to "press the button". Sorry "folks" but this is a presidential election and NOT a beauty pageant. If she answered the questions rather than skirting them with her "aw shucks folks" attitude, maybe we could have found out where she, and the GOP stood on the issues. But for me it sounded like 4 mores years of McSame. Biden won by a landslide!!!!

"Palin Helps Herself Biden Helps Nobody!" Sarah Palin helped reasure america she is ready to step up to the VP seat,however, Biden didn't deliver a very promising or imformative debate like everyone expected.

A good headline for last nights debate would be" Biden deals in facts Palin deals in fantasy"! I found it quite arrogant and amazing that Palin did not feel the need to follow procedure in the debates. She ignored the principle of debates and decide rather then anwser the questions posed that she would spoute campagin propaganda! I guess if you are ignorant to the facts that is the only tact you can take! I am insulted everytime I here the term joe six-pack! She is as close to Joe six-pack as I am to Bill gates! She talks about the American work force being the greatest in the world and how she supports them! What a joke! If her party truly appreciated the American worker then they would have at least raised the minimum wage in the last decade! I live in san Diego Cali, where the average price of a home is between 500,000 to 600,00 dollars. But yet they seem to think it is ok to pay the average Hard working Laborer $8.00 dollars an hour while all these so called Republicans that honor us make enough money to buy two are three of these. This Joe six-pack can't afford a six-pack anymore thanks to the policies that she so proudly favors the American worker! One last thing I would like to add is her cure for every problem is a tax cut! I am here to tell you that a tax cut don't mean squat to someone who does not get paid enough to even pay taxes! It is quite clear that Palin has no grasp what so ever of the reality of our problems! All That I herd from her last night was pure right wing propaganda! I am sure it took here all week to lear that, because there is no way you can learn all of the facts about the mess we are in in a week! I wonder if Joe-sixpack Palin buts off the rack!!!!!

Palin and Biden both did a great job last night- at slinging muck. Mcbama both voted for the same pork barrel bill this week. I guess their visions of change are not that different and smell a lot like the same greed fueled policy making of the last two Presidents. Biden, Palin, Mcbama no one is winning but, the taxpayers are losing.

Palin far surpased Biden in the debate. She spoke to the middle class without all the Washington crap. Where are the heads of the people who critique the debate...you do not represent the average worker in this country... you just do not get it that we are tired of the political bullshit. We need common sense and we need it now. We need McCain and Palin. They understand what it is like to sacrifice for their country and how to stand up and speak out for the right cause. Biden and Obama lack substance and are not above lying about voting records and issues. I just do not trust them at all. We have only one choice..McCain and Palin.

After a minute I wrote out the questions since Palin generally wasn't answering the questions. After a few genuine words, "Sound Bite Sarah" reverted to her scripted infomercial.

I would begin with the following headline. "Biden tells lie after lie in his debate with Sarah Palin". It's been documented he told a minimum of 10 untruths........ Someone should call him on this in the main stream media. Maybe folks would see his "win" in a different light.

Palin Packs a Punch!

I thought both stayed to their talking points and attacked the top candidate for the opposite party. Palin did a better job than Biden in addressing the concerns of the middle class. I think Palin far exceeded the test considering what most news stations were stating about her before the debate. Palin helped solidify my position to vote for McCain. Even with the economic downturn I think McCain will become President.

As an ex-teacher I am appalled that the republican vice -presidential candidate does not know how to pronounce the word nuclear correctly. In fact, neither does our present president 'George W. Bush. Joe Biden answered the questions. Sarah Palin had her own agenda and at times clearly bypassed the question and just spewed forth on the topics she chose to talk about. Clearly, Biden had the edge. She is, and never will be ready to assume the role of President of the United States. She can absorb what is crammed into her but as her interview with Katie Couric showed. She is shallow and unprepared for the task that may be at hand.

Palin was captivating! Informed! Sharp! Confidence-inspiring! Different! BId? Same ole, same ole Washington speak: knowledgeable, but boring.

I don't believe Sarah Palin actually answered any of the direct questions she was asked. She had her own agenda and that is the information she put out. She even stated she wasn't planning on answering the questions as presented.

Palin succeeded in not doing horribly. It is a shame when her party deems her performance a success just because she didn't completely mess up. She also didn't answer many questions directly. She also didn't give accurate facts. Biden was outstanding. He was direct, concise, and thankfully, had a response to every question and disputed much of the "Maverick Jr's" false comments.

I actually was quite impressed with Palin. I found her very knowledgable about EVERYTHING than and also a great speaker! All this and a family. I am impressed!

Palin was totally scripted. Her eyes did not move off of the camera, and she seemed robotic. She circled around important questions and could not give difinitive answers. The Hockey Mom stance is old now. She clearly stated that she will never support marriage as anything but between a man and a woman. There is a big difference between running a state and running an entire country. She just lacks substance.

I want to know why Mrs Sarah Palin makes things up. The issues she talks negatively of Obama on, are the same exact things that John Mccain and the Bush admin do. The Republicans are the ones that give bigger tax cuts to the rich, and leave out the middle class. Do they think the American people are stupid?

"Clueless Palin deflects answers, regurgitates GOP soundbites" SHOULD be your headline this morning. Sarah clearly doesn't have the qualifications to sit as President of this country, and her "folksy" charm comes accross as disengenius at best. If America thinks Palin "won" this debate, we are in serious trouble.

Did you watch the debate of the headlines that someone in the media decided yo show you? If you paraphrase someone, then it can sound like anything you want it to. What she said was "I may not answer the questions the way you want me to". It's better to be silent and thought a fool than to open youe mouth and remove all doubt. Have ALL the facts before spreading the media's view.

We need Glenn Beck for President. He knows the truth and whats going on. They want to steal from us too.

No, the debate did not change my vote or opinion. It served to reinforce the urgency I feel in electing Obama/Biden 08!!

Biden for President, Palin Vice President!! these 2 impressed me more than either Obama or McCain, I think they could win together!!

BIDEN WON. It was pretty obvious from the debate that the "Governator" answered the questions "expected" of her, but did not mention specifics. Biden did, and explained his answers in detail. Yeah he tends to waffle, but at least I (as a middle class tax payer) understood where he was coming from, and where he was going. Palin tended to be very generic in her answers, and that is what I would expect from someone who does "politics as usual", and also someone who has been "coached", very well I might add.

Palin pulled out a decent punch when she mentioned that Biden and Obama voted against each other on an issue, however she was no match for Biden's attacks on McCain's "the Maverick's" economic and war stances. Also, there was one thing to point out about what Palin said in regards to Obama and Biden's previous votes on the war. She repeatedly tried, as though she was reaching for something that wasn't there, to mention that the two democrats had voted with McCain's war strategy. The key word being strategy, because during that conversation she tried to make it sound as though the vote was for the war. Of course they probably voted on the same strategy!

Overall I think she did much better than expected, but this did not sway me I will still be voting for an Obama/Biden administration!

All politicians say what they think the voting public want to hear. Quit listening to the words. The republicans got this country into this extreme mess. This election is a no brainer.

Sarah Palin played the "stupid card" for a week very well. This lowered the expectations. The main "pundit" theory was if she could stand at the podium that was a "win". She appeared to be the stupidest person alive in the Couric interviews. I realized it was a "dog and pony" show when she was asked about disappointing Supreme Court decision. At that point she overplayed the "stupid card". Her not knowing about the Exxon Valdez decision was incredible. Every Alaskan was outraged and she was on TV expressing her disappointment. America you were played, myself included. Talk about taking the focus off McCain and his ineptitude. Good Job, Sarah on that.

Sarah DEFINATELY gets my vote! She has once again shown herself as the "down to Earth" candidate. One for the people. She constantly looked at the American public with her speaking and addressed the issues. Senantor Biden seemed more interested in speaking to the moderator. Senator Biden is the one who offers more of the same "song and dance".

Joe Biden showed great restraint in not going after Sarah Palin in fact he gave her cudos first on her standing up to the oil companies in her state. He showed real emotion talking about his sons. Palin just kept saying what her boss said it felt like she was making little mini-speeches . Her winks and folksy talk really did not impress me .I felt that she was acting I would much rather seen an intelligent woman up there without the theatrics. This is not going to impress any foreign leader if they get in the white house. Of course she could bring brownies.

"Biden Gives Facts, Palin Gives Rhetoric"
As partner to Obama, Biden did well the point out the facts: Obama has clear and precise plans as outlined on his website and in his various speeches, for fixing the economy and the energy crisis. Palin assured us all that McCain wants to do the same, yet as always can not cite a single example of his policies differing from Bush's repeated failures. She spoke a pretty piece, but could not support her arguments while Biden could. That is the bottom line and reflects accurately in the overwhelming majority of pollsters admitting Biden's landslide victory.

Gov Palin did everything the Republicans wanted her to do, she showed up, did not look stupid, and was able to answer some of the questions. I guess the low standards the Republicans set for Gov Palin were met. I do not know if those low standards are good enough for me as a national leader. Gov Palin did have a few bunders like not answering some of the questions asked and showing she does not know the Constitution nor the powers of the VP.

On a personal note, Gov Palin looked very nervous and jerky and robotic. She is a very good speaker when she knows the issues. Last night's debate showed Gov Palin as a down to Earth soccer mom who has very limited knowledge and experiance in government.

Sen Biden looked like the veteran of government he is. The Senator was able to answer and rebutal all of the Govenor's atttacks. In fact, attacks and soccer mom talk was about all the Governor spoke about last night.

Palin did it and did it well. Biden bashed his buddy. Now maybe we can leave the VP candidates alone and concentrate on the issues and the candidates for PRESIDENT!

So Palin is not polished political speaker – thank goodness. CNN doing a pole over who was liked more, it is only 3:45 AM here in CA. Be fair and get a total country count. Not one side is perfect, yet if you are who your friends are – Obama is scary.

Biden won. Really.? No kidding? He won? Really? 51% to 36% !?!??! These results are laughable. They reflect the incredible bias and wishful thinking of that 51% CNN viewers. It was pretty clear that Palin got the best of Biden last night, but that 51% of CNN debate viewers folks were unable to see it. The saw instead what they wished to see. It's clear that the CNN viewers poll is not a valid indication of the debate results. It reflects ONLY CNN viewership - and that's pretty biased.

Barack Obama has no more experience that Sarah Palin so why is
she being attacked about experience and Barack is not. Barack & Joe Biden have slick smooth Washington speeches. We have had enough of slick tongues and promises that go no where after the election.

There is a headline for you. In my opinion, the only reason people have been praising Governor Palin for her performance last night is because expectations were so low. Success simply meant not imploding.
Also, she has received many accolades for being a "Straight talker." If straight talker means being vague and seemingly uninformed about any number of issues, then yes, she was that. If it means speaking like she was three beers deep with "Joe Six Pack" at the local watering hole, then yes she was that as well.
Does that mean I don't like beer and think people in bars are deficient in some way, no. I would like to ask though, since when has running for public office at the national level been about being folksy? Since when has it been about being plain spoken? Do we not want the best and brightest representing us on the national and international stage?
I have all the respect in the world for Governor Palin. She is a dedicated public servant, loving mother and a very driven individual. However, not by those traits alone can she be deemed fit to be second in line to the most powerful office in the world.

This was the first VP debate I've every watched and I really liked Palin's down to earth presentation. Look at her track record, Mayor, Governer and now running for VP? Biden never has had to do anything but TALK. Enough talk and time to let someone that has been a leader get the job done.

BIDEN Won! I do not know what people were looking at, when they said Palin held her own, when all she did was recite what was in the McCain commercials. She had no factual information and never addressed McCain's voting record that has had a negative impact against the middle class and has taken down our economy. Biden addressed her comments against Obama's record, but Palin never addressed McCain record of voting against the same war bill that Obama did for funding the war. Wake up people, you keep talking about her personality; we need experience and Biden showed it clearly that he had what it takes to be a VP & would be able to step in as President. The media set the bar so low for Palin and higher for Biden, so all she had to do was answer one question and the media would have said she did well.

I believe Sarah Palin did pull it off. She talked to the American people. I believe Sen Biden sounded programed and I believe the American people need to be spoken directly to in our tough economical times. We need to feel stable and secure with Wall Street in such as credit crisis.

Biden again cited debate "facts" that were later shown to be incorrect. Biden is still having difficulty separating truth from fiction - as he has done so many times lately. It comes down to Obama, who lacks the experience to be president and Biden who has difficulty with reality. Palin's outstanding record in Alaska speaks for itself. She is someone who lives in the real world. I believe she will work for her people - Americans, just like she has been doing in Alaska.

Palin held well against an old war horse! She understands who she works for! The american tax payer!

Last night was bad enough with the word Maverick being used 700,000,000,000 times and "NUKULAR" like she went to the George W, Bush School for the Criminally Insane. I wanted to go over and rip her out of the TV and gag her. That voice can break a full beer glass. She is so dumb and talks in circles that I was so confused. But, I watched every minute.

She said nothing but Maverick and Nukular.

Palin has lived another day... BUT ....look at the substance...or should we say lack of it on her part....!! America don't be fooled by a smile and a pretty face..!! Palin-Mccain is definitely more of the same Bush policies.

I feel that she put any doubts to rest about that last night. I have been a John McCain supporter since day one. In my opinion Sarah Palin did a better job of debating Joe Biden that John McCain did against Obama in the Presidential debate. If the McCain-Palin administration can make good on the key issues they have proposed to pusue, Sarah Palin could be a shoe in for the 2012 Presidential seat.

I changed the channel (s) after an hour of listening to them point fingers at each other or the presidential candidate. I did approve of Palin's comment on putting the blame on the people and not just the President and Wall Street. Who buys a house with no money down and then complain when their payments go up? Why should the government bail out every problem we seem to encounter? We are in for some dark times and everyone needs to stop spending money they do not have. Including the government.

Everyone is stating that Palin is connecting with the American public because of her comments and nicknames she has with the American public. I take offense with the comment of "Joe 6-pack". I look at this type of individual that comes home from work and plops down in front of the TV with a 6-pack of beer and does nothing but complain. I manage District of Postal facilities in mid-Ohio and have many "Joe 6-packs" working for me. They spend most of their time on the clock complaining and asking for union representation to get free money they feel they are entitled to. They don't want to work and complain when I have to sub-contract their work to outside sources. "Entitlement" that is the problem with the American work force, I'm voting for Obama!!!! I don't want another eights years of McBush as our leadership.

I felt that both candidates held their composure very well. However, as the wife of an Army Officer who is being deployed next February, the war in Iraq was a huge issue that I wanted to see where the candidates stood. For me, I prefer Obama's and Biden's exit strategy. The way Sarah Palin made it sound, she and McCain would stay in Iraq until we have a theoretical "win." I think it is time to start shifting the responsibility to the Iraqi people and even the Iraqi president wants us to get out. I know that they think there is too much violence in Iraq to leave but in what country is there not any violence?! Iraq will not be perfect no matter when we leave so why not sooner than later?

Is Sarah Palin running for office in Alaska? Her constant reference to what she did for Alaska was self-serving. Sarah Palin stated that Biden kept making refences to the past, while she very obviously kept referencing her past in Alaska. I was not impressed by her. John McCain should be embarrassed.

I must agree that I was anxious to hear Palin answer some of the questions put to her specifically by Biden. She did skirt them quite a bit leaving the audience wanting. Her "Say it ain't so Joe" comment caught me off guard as well as her shout out to the kindergarden class. That was very innapropriate. That was not the time nor the place to recognize her family members by name and occupation in the middle of a time period when we wanted her to answer the question at hand. To me it was a ploy to exhaust time so that she wouldn't have to answer. Regardless of that, I have to keep in mind that these two individuals are just human. No candidate is without fault and no candidate was or ever will be omiscient. But McCain's past record does not leave me with a taste of confidence that he would be more in tuned with the middle class than would Obama. Palin does herself seem to care about the middle class and I think she wants to leave us with the impression that McCain shares her sentiment but that is just not the case. I get the impression of Palin running around trying to quickly fix all of McCain's PR hiccups but she is not his PR rep, she is his VP pick. Regardless of which sentiments I feel that Palin is genuine about, it still comes down to the fact that McCain (If chosen) would be President and he just seems way too interested in Big Business and the already Wealthy Wall Streeters and that just scares the Hell out of me!

McCain is sickly. He's had repeated bouts with cancer. Do we really want an experienced, religiously driven, idiot, redneck to be our next president. At least, Biden, would make for a good commander in chief. Maybe, better than OBama

Sarah's common sense approach connects to the regular person in America, which is the same approach George Bush used to get elected for two terms. Wake up America!!!

I did not watch the debate last night, but I have been listening to the replays this morning. I just have an observation:

Biden actually answered the questions and answered them well and to the point. Palin not only did not answer specific questions she kept going back to questions that had already been discussed. How many times was she going to talk about Energy and Taxes? You definetly could tell what topics she had been prepped on!!

Biden "might" have edged Palin HOWEVER, I have been watching how fast Palin has gotten up to speed with the campaign. From her 1st interviews where she was highly scrutinized and struggled to last nights impressive debate, I think over all my expectations for Palins performance was a great deal better then Bidens. Biden did what I expected while Palin pver exceeded my expectations.

Truth is one is these two candidates will be out next V.P. I’m trying to find strong points in both in lieu of this fact…but I could not help but notice that Governor Palin would never refer to Barack Obama as Senator Obama. It was simply “Barack”. I see this as a sign of total disrespect. However everyone else that she spoke of received their proper political title.

How can Palin help lead the country? Like she said "she has only been at this for 5 weeks."

Sarah Palin may have redeemed herself by answering questions better than in past interviews, however, a soccer mom is not what we need as a VP a heartbeat away from the Presidency. She simply does not have the right experience and substance and it shows. Joe Biden was down to earth, human and has the experience that is needed. Call him a Washington insider with years of experience, but with one house, a family and concerns that relate to the real average American and main street, not the wealthy opponent who claims to be and know what the average person is experiencing in America today!

She did it .Enough politcians in Washington. We now have the choice of a real person, who can actually relate,and represent the people. Go Sarah..Go Sarah ...Go Sarah.

McCain – Palin "Thanks But No Thanks".

Bindin was wonderful on last night. He was an example of what a vice president should be. He answered the questions with facts. Palin was a news broadcaster last night, not that anything is wrong with that, she really didn't answer the questions. She was humorous but I don't need humor to run the country. We need someone who will stand for what is right.

I was unsure where my vote was going to before this debate. I'm very disappointed with what the people have been concentrating on, Sarah Palin's redemption performance. What about the real hard issues, security, safety, and the economy? Did they not see how she avoided addressing this issues. Biden was focused and direct with answers. I know who I'm voting for.

Palin had to ham it up showing that she lacks substance. Great image to portray. Someone else in our govt. that is a con artist. I'm just surprised the republicans didn't change the constitution so that "the governator" could run on McCains ticket. Maybe Bush needs to appoint one more supreme court justice that doesn't regard the constitution as any more than a suggestion.

Senator Biden is a "Tuesday Morning Quaterback and a Backseat Driver", always telling what he would have done. As a senator what has he done!

Biden and Palin gave a new meaning to Romper Room Debates.
But then again it just goes to show you that Obama and Biden are ready to run this country and make the changes we so much need in this country.

I'd like to see a less subjective report card of the candidates. Discuss who best addressed the moderators questions versus who was more likely to skirt the issues and go to their party's talking points. This speaks to focus as well as readiness to debate. I'd also like to know who quoted the more reliable statistics and who was most liberal with their interpretations of the facts. This is an indicator of honesty.

Palin Fails...Again

Palin needs to go back to Alaska and talk her nonsense talk to the Bears. She can't answer questions correctly because she knows nothing about the issues....Maybe the bears can understand her

I'd vote for Cheney in a dress! Folks, without srong national security there is no country to brag about. Obama's got it wrong and the only 'changes' he has in mind will undermine everyone's SECURITY and only leave us more vulnerable.

OK..., take a small board and bang it on your collective heads Congress. Let's wake up your brains. Banks make money by lending money, if they keep the credit shut off, they go out of business. Their product is lending money period – it is the core of their exisitance. What we are seeing here is Wall Street trying to blackmail the American Taxpayer by saying "if you don't bail us out from all our misdeeds, we will stop lending".
Shockingly, our leaders are saying OK. What we should be saying is "OK, stop lending and let's see how long you last". No revenue, no company! get it guys?
There is plenty of money in the system and there are many healthy banks out there that will take up the slack.
If you don't get this, pick up the board and take another swing at your head – you missed the first time.

Biden takes high ground

Even though Biden bashed McCain and even Palin in the debates tonight, he restrained himself from emphasizing the importance of this debate due to McCains suspect health. I give him cudos, but really wonder why it hasn't been a discussed issue in any media outlets. It's the cat no one wants to let out of the bag...

Palin won. Biden was owned so many time it was pitifull. For the people that said Biden won, did you even watch?

Palin may not be as seasoned as Biden, But... she did pretty well for a first timer where as Biden gave us the same old bureaucratic garbage that we have come to expect and get from the idiots in Washington. How about some one item proposals to get the job done. I mean what does rubber tipped arrows have to do with the economic crisis we are in now?? Washington get real. I own a small business in a tourist area, are they going to bail me out? I don't think so just charge me more taxes I can't pay.

Palin has finally (after much coaching!)managed to string a few coherent sentences together and suddenly she is ready to rule the world.....!!???? It is amazing how gullible male voters can be when they are being played by a pretty but 'empty DRESS'

perhaps if Couric had been the moderator, we would have got some actual answers to some of the 'important 'questions that palin consistently failed to answer. Biden was accurate, genuine and honest about what EXACTLY his ticket could do for the country. Enough....!!! with the GOP spin. Obama/Biden are clearly a superior ticket and will move the country in the right direction.

Senator Joe Biden's detailed answers demonstrated his experience and knowledge of the US government: from the framework of our government (legislative vs. executive powers) to foreign policy (Iraq vs. Afghanistan), our economy (sub-prime mortgages, bankruptcy laws) to the Constitution (gay rights). Gov. Palin's responses (I am reluctant to call them answers) were Miss America vague. Her use of slang was unprofessional at best and patronizing at worst - just how many times did she cut off the "g" in "-ing" words: comin', gonna, hurtin', etc.? Her statements sounded less vice-presidential and more country song.

Biden's delivery was down-to-earth, a characteristic Gov. Palin tried too hard to achieve. Her winking references to Joe Six-pack, "Say It Ain't So," and, of course, hockey moms, seemed over-rehearsed and forced. Stage make-up and "college cramming" (as Palin's sister said) could not mask Gov. Palin's inexperience.

Sarah Palin, gets her point across with dignanty. She has stood up to the challenge, and last night she showed the she just isn't a pretty face she has brains. I think she was put on the spot and came through with flying colors. Robin she reminds me of you, she can really get things across with style.

Palin is a winner! She is what we need in Washington. She's fresh, not a Washington insider, and America comes first. She's right!' John McCain is the only canidate who has fought for our country. He is the only one who has reached across the aisle. From where I sit, the vetting for Obama is by the media which has closed its eyes to Obama's past record. It's scary! We need a reality check here. Being an eloquent speaker with a prompter in front of him may make him an idol to his fans, but it is not substance that can lead a country in these times.

"Gov. Palin: Just answer the gosh darn questions!!"

I find it hard to believe that the analysts that gave Palin high marks were actually listening to her answers to the questions. She didn't directly answer most of the questions. Maybe they should have listened to the debate without watching and maybe the scores would have been more reflective of the actual debate.

Palin sounded fake in her responses to Biden. She played that role "down to earth" to the T. She also is good at not answering the qestions being asked and tap dancing. No one care's about a charector "the maveric". Its about the ability to lead a nation and the power of moving the nation foreward

With over twenty years of experience I expected more out of Joe Biden. With that in mind I think Sara blow his doors off. I can't believe Joe is not retired yet, I guess he hasn't stold enough money.

Palins "folksey" speech was condescending to the American people. She lacks the experience and credibility to properly lead a state, though she stated she could guide the country, if required.
McCain/Palin work for the same company as Bush/Chaney and the future would be more of the last eight years. Biden's words could not be more true, "this is the most important election since 1932." America the world is watching.

Gov. Palin did well enough for a small town mayor's postion. even a small state But she left one to many questons unanswered to be considered ready for the postion of president of the United States. If tBarack in any debate would not answer any question asked, what would people think. If he next president in waiting will not answer questions asked that America should want to know, how can we determine if they are ready to lead the country. It was enteraining to watch Gov. Palin's responses seemed practiced and if this is how the Republicans helped her then she should be schooled before every public speaking. Having said that she remains UNQUALIFIED to be close to running the greatest country in the world.

I am independent. Although, TX per the electoral college will go republican, even if I voted for Obama. Do I want Obama? No. Do I want McCain? No. It comes down to the lesser of two evils. Frankly, I think most of the government should be thrown out. Both parties are just as guilty for the current state of affairs. But I digress..... For the debate, I felt that Palin won. She connected with the voter and she was herself. She gave the answers within the context of her knowledge and experience. She did go back to the Energy issue/policy a little too much, where she should have talked about something else. Sure, the pundits are saying that she didn't give the breadth of the answers as compared to Biden. Biden has been in the Senate for 35 years. I wouldn't expect it to be the same. Your comparing apples to oranges. They both accomplished the job they were supposed to do and that was to shore up candidates for President. The only other thing that I will say about the debate is that is was more welcoming to have a discussion. I hope that the 2nd Presidential debate will take some cues both from Biden and Palin.

BIDEN WON! Of course Palin’s debate performance beat the media’s expectations; the media set the bar so low for her and higher for Biden, so all she had to do was answer one question and the media would say, “she did well” or “she held her own.” I do not know what people watched last night, but all Palin did was recite what was in the McCain commercials – compare! She danced around the questions, she provided no factual information regarding any of the issues. When Palin attacked Obama’s record, Biden addressed her attacks. Palin NEVER addressed McCain’s record, in reference to his voting against the same war bill as Obama or his voting record for bills that has had a negative impact against our economy and has greatly eliminated the middle class. Palin never addressed the fact that the Bush Administration is doing exactly what Obama suggested be done with Pakistan. We need to stick with the issues, but the media keeps talking about her personality & connection to the people (I guess that was the wink and the shout-out). Biden has the same connections, but I guess because he is a male, personality has no marks with him. Personality does not last long in politics – we need to concentrate on the real concern - and that is experience.

I would like to thank the one-sided media....Due to the coverage on every news channel; cable or evening news I have made a choice to switch political parties. I am now a PROUD REPUBLICAN!!!!!

Palin was very rehearsed and would only speak to a few rehearsed topics. Evaded questions and seemed very artificial. Biden was able to answer with authority and knowledge without looking at notes.

I am an Independent and I want to give a shout out to Senator Joe Biden for doing a wonderful job!
And Palin must be a "sis'ta" for providing a "shout-out" to 3rd graders and extra credit.

Debate: We had Substance – Biden over style – Palin. Palin spent a lot of time looking at notes. At 3AM in the morning whom would you trust. Palin did better than perhaps expected. However, she did not meet the bar when it comes to instilling convidence that she could lead this country as commander in chief. In my opinion she is not qualified.

Dear Lord, we are in trouble!

I felt after watching the debate last night that Palin did better than what people thought she would do. However, she failed to answere direct questions that pertained to the issues. I would like to know if she is capable of that. I don't believe she is. She avoided the questions, gave her "yokal" comments,got a few laughs, but as a voter she did not impress me as far as dealing with the issues. She spewd facts that were not true and had no basis for her information . This is what the whole McFailin' campaign is about. She has made me hate the word Maverick and I really hate how they have stollen Baracks' plan of change. One thing she got right last night; A change is coming in the form of Obama-Biden!!!! Back to Alaska with the rest of the "Joe Six-packs!!!!!!

Two thoughts on the debate:
1st, why did Pallin say Obama still doesn't understand that the strategy on the war is working when the news channels say things are fragile in Iraq
2nd, Why do they all keep saying same "sex marriages" I am Gay and have been with my partner 28 years, We do not ask for the term MARRIAGE we are asking for a LEGAL UNION, we have been together longer than most straight couples but don't have the right to file taxes jointly, can't get couple benefits through jobs for insurance or benefits through our government, and God forbid we be sick have to fight for the other to be treated as a spouse at a hospital. What's fair about all of this. The governments want are money individually but if we are need of any government assistance demands to count our incomes as a couple, what's with that, we are not asking to redefine the general meaning of marriage WE WANT A LEGAL UNION, besides Merriam Webster's 2nd definition of a marriage is:

Substance v. Good Study! Palin proved she is a good study but did anyone really hear what she said? Did anyone count the number of times she could not or did not actually answer the question? Mortgages crisis was answered about energy! Yes, she proved she could say what she was coached to say but there was no substance there. We all may enjoy coffee and discussing issues with our soccer mom friends but we certaining don't want them running the country. Just ask Katie Couric. She knows what level of substance really resides in Palin! Are we so moved by a pretty face that we close our ears?

I believed that Gov. Palin did better than I explected, and SNL has some new material. Gov. Palin in the beginning did avoid several questions on economy and retuned to her comfort zone of energy. Also, I was not comfortable with her answer on what they would have to delay or change in light of the country financial condition, and her response was that she has only been around for 5 weeks. Now to me if I going to be only a heart beat away from the most important job in the world, and at the helm of the country I would want to know what policy I was supporting and may have to place on the back burner.

Senator Joe Biden shows the pit-bull how it's done in the debate. Despite her desperate folksy-ness, Ms. Palin proved that she couldn't run with the big dogs. She was stiff and harsh, Biden was patient. She was a fem-bot, he was a human voice of experience. She was over-coached and he was natural. She should try blinking once in a while, otherwise her eyeballs will get dusty... maybe that's what the glasses are really for. After Palin clearly delineated that the McCain ticket was "tolerant" of the rights of same sex couples and defined that she was not in favor of same sex marriages, only then did Biden redefine that he and Obama were against same sex marriages. That was a major flip-flop! Points for Palin in our family scorebook.

What shocked me the most about the debate last night was Palin's gleeful expression of hatred for the Federal Government and the city of Washington, DC. Serving as Vice President and possibly President is a serious undertaking–a position of service to the people of our country. She talks as if she were trying out for crime boss of the mob. Why would we want to put someone in charge of an institution s/he despises?

Ok that may sound like the NY Post headline but she was pale by comparison. Let's remember VP is one tic away from the oval office. I do think she's feisty and outspoken and I like Sarh Palin and as a matter of fact I would love to see her in a top position in Obama's cabinet. Maybe a new job called Secretary of Reality Check. Last night was America's interview and Joe Biden is clearly more qualified for the job.

Evry time Republican candidates seems at a loss for a full answer they quote Ronald Reagan as if that's supposed to put people in awe. Have they all forgotten how he destroyed the green initiatives of the 70's putting the debts made in the laps of the grandchildren? It's not like he was Randolph Scott (see Blazing Saddles)! I have yet to see a Democratic candidate quote JFK or FDR.

While reading these comments, I am wondering if I watched the same debate as some. Palin does not have the knowledge nor the class to represent our country. SHE and John McCain may think this folksy crap flies, but to me it comes off as not having dignity and class that this country deserves in it's Vice President. She did manage to keep her pump out of her mouth this time, but if I heard her say "ya" (the word is "you") one more time, I was going throw the remote control at my tv. Please let's hope that this country has a collective brain and send's Miss Wasilla right back where she came from!

I am still disappointed that the Republican Party would assume that Govenor Palin can bring the female vote to their side. I am a middle-class, female, single mother, white and a registered Republican. This will be the first election that I will not vote for my party. I have supporyted OBAMA from the beginning of his campaign. Her selection clinched my vote for the OBAMA.

I was hoping the VP for the Repblican party would be someone that would demonstrate that the party is not out of touch and is not set on being a part of the same "good ole boy" system running our government. Their choice indicates that if you choose a female, she must come with so much baggage and lack of knowledge that she will not appear more intelligent than the "man" chosen by the party. The government is filled with this type of hypocrisy and it is time for change.

On a personal note, as a mother I was very sad for her daughter. Govenor Palin made a selfish decision when she accepted this domination. She should have said "thanks but no thanks" when asked to be the VP because it was not in the best interest of her family. Just like her bridge to nowhere, she said "thanks but no thanks", took the money and did what was best for her. This is exactly what she did to her daughter. This is her track record and she will do the same thing if she is given the opportunity to step foot in the White House.

I thought Palin was very rude to Gwen, the mediator, for stating she was not going to answer her questions or response to Biden's comments. She created a platform for herself and McCain on taxes and energy. Buy a commercial! This was a debate. It seemed that is what she kept referring back to because that is all she knows. I am afraid for her lack of experience. She governs a state with less population then the city I live in. She never answered the questions asked!

PALIN NEEDS MORE PRACTICE NEAR THE STREAM! Sarah needs more practice from the republicans. I thought she did horribly last night. However, if you look at how she had done with Couric and Gibson you would say she did better last night. But she is still not capable to run the country. I am so tired of her being a 6 pack gal and that she is a maverick. We don't need mavericks running the country we already have two and look at the mess we are in. Joe Biden won last night he knew what he was talking about and he didn't beat around the bush on some questions he answered them that is more than Sarah Palin did. If she didn't know the answer she said she wasn't going to answer the question. Who does that sound like? Dick Cheney and we sure don't need another one of him.

"The Maverick McPalinbot completes full sentences!" Now, that IS a headline! Palin did a wonderful job regurgitating typical Conservative rhetoric. Biden was impressive, strong and deliberate. Palin was meak, antagonizing, and quite honestly, repetative. It is a shame that many Americans are falling for the faux sincerity of the McCain/Palin ticket. I laugh whenever I see middle to lower class Americans say they are voting for McCain. This proves that the GOP knew what they were doing when they put the Palinbot on the ticket....she is dim witted....just like the GOP's voters.

The whole thing come off as a polical ploy-again! I get so tired of hearing the candidate or in this case, the debate Vice -President candidates consently lashing out at what the the other partys candidate did or didn't do. I would have loved to just hear what both side are going to do, this constant lashing out at the other gets old-very fast! Just lay it out in...we can take it!!

Of course he is going to be more versed on the issues, he was in the senate when she was 2 years old. Although, he was flat out wrong on some of the votes that he said McCain made so hopefully that will come out in th mainstream media. Headlines: Soccer Mom Makes it to the White House

Wake up American, the time for change has arrived in Washington, the American people are tried of the far left making fun of common, everyday folks who help make this country great to start with. Shame on CNN and other news media who will not be fair and balanced. Although, I will say sometimes CNN does do a little better once in a while, but never as good as Fox News. Fox News they are honest and give good coverage on both sides. When can't the other news media do that??? Why can't we all come together middle of the road and agree to disagress without the far left making fun, cutting remarks about a fine lady,(Palin) Just get on with running our country. How about this new "Law", "It is unlawfull for candidates to lie during any public debate or speach, punishable by the inability to continue the campain and forfiting the ability to hold public office. Palin pulled it off?? Well of course she did. The bar for her was set so low that a 10th grade debate team member could have pulled it off. You can see that all the coaching really payed off. Palin Survives and Biden Shines, is the best headline for the debate last night. Palin survived her make or break moment. She had been held up in her debate boot-vamp being drilled with facts and some untruths about Barack's voting history. Her main topics were energy in what she referred to as "the great state of Alaska" the decision of war, and nuclear arms. She even threw in her signature wink at the crowd. I felt as though I was watching a performance not someone who was naturally knowlegeable about the affairs of the world. Biden, however was more knowledgeable and I feel he will be better equipped to handle the crisis of the world. He related to the public by sharing his humble upbringings,after Palin stategically added stories of her and Todd worrying about bills and health insurance. Palin's performance was coached with cliches' of Mccain's team being " mavericks" and Biden stood there as an experienced politician watching a student in training. As Palin stated " she gets extra credit" but Biden was the teacher last night.

Gov. Palin was a good pick by John McCain. She didn't just do okay last night – she was great. She showed that she did have a good understanding of what is going on concerning forgein affairs as well as domestic issues. Lets remember, she hasn't been in the Washington elite for over 20 years. She has shown that she is a quick study that will then apply common sense to make sound decisions.

She has been the real "Middle Class" – Working parent, small business owner, understands how expensive health insurance is , raised her children in the public school system ....

And just when it started to look silly, she ducked a knockout with a quick "oh gosh, I'm really a Washington outsider and not familiar with these complicated games you people play," Biden walked a very thin, straight line and resisted simply slamming Palin for having no experience whatsoever. Saying she's the right choice for the 2nd chair or that she came anywhere near "winning" this debate would be like saying someone was prepared for Olympic swimming because they mastered treading water in the shallow end of the pool. (kudos to Palin's media prep team, though – they did well teaching their contestant to stay on message . . no matter what)

I watch you every morning and love the show! The debate was good. I was an undecided voter until this debate. I think that Joe Biden was much more polished with his answers and stuck to the debating rules. I felt a connection with him understanding what we Americans are going through with the economy.

GOV Palin obviously had an agenda that she was TOLD to stick too and it showed. I was amazed that she was allowed to venture off into her own world and not stick to the questions that were asked of her. Bad politics. We want to hear the answers to the questions that were asked. She was very robotic with her rehearsed answers. Not impressed with GOV Palin at all. I would not feel comfortable with her as the Vice President.

Sara Palin is a straight forward, honest, (not yet ruined by Washington). I believe she can help McCain understand the middle class people much better than Biden will be able to help Obama. We need a person in the Whitehouse that knows the ups and downs of everyday life. Washington does not. If you want higher taxes and more free welfare. Free money for those who choose to have children and not support them and let us the tax payer, pay for the raising of those children, vote Obama/Biden. If you want less taxes and less of your tax dollars to continue to support all these free programs, for only a few chosen ones, than vote McCain/Palin.

I would like to respond to Pam West and explain that though Sarah Palin did a good job of appealing to the soccer moms of America, I think that her target audience was too low to be representative of the middle class. Her familiar approach, failure to address the questions as asked and lack of substance on the issues appeals to the lowest common denominator and not an educated person in the middle class.

I am a soccer and hockey mom and she certainly would appeal to the petty and classless stereotypical sport mom and if she and senator McCain are going to be successful in their bit for the whitehouse, perhaps they have chosen their target audience ans the uninformed and disinterested masses (of course coupled with the rich and corporate America who have always thrived on the backs of these masses).

One interesting comment that I heard on the show this morning was a criticism of Joe Biden being too wordy and talking about the issues too much. Perhaps I was wrong and the vice presidential debate has turned into more of a beauty pagent than an open discussion of the plans that the candidates have for the future of our great country.

It saddens me to see that a few winks and a couple of "betchas" garner so much praise. The kudos for Governor Palin seem very shallow in light of that caveat the "she did way better than we expected" Is she the special education student that finaly passed a test. Is it the fact that don't expect the woman to do well.... Oh yes, we think that she is just an everyday woman – well, she is not. She is a Governor and I expect more from my elected officials – male or female.

Palin has no personal depth. She has an excellent memory and delivered her lines well. She has not thought of anything outside Wasilla or Alaska until 3 weeks ago. And it shows.

Governer Palin lost the deer in the headlight gaze but replaced it with "Sara wants a cracker" parroting and repetition of prepared responses during last nights debate. While her over all poise and confidence were elevated she continued to answer a specific question with answers in areas she felt the most comfortable with, energy, unrelated to the question at hand.

It disappoints me that the American public likes Palin because they can identify with her. I don't want someone in the White House who is similar to me, or shares the same amount of knowledge on foreign policy as I do. After the Presidential debate, my sister came up with a new diet plan: Mentally replay John McCain saying, "I'm a maverick and so is my partner." – a sure fire way to kill your appetite!

During the Vice Presidential Debate, Sarah Palin threw out the word "maverick" numerous times. The highlight of the debate was Senator Biden taking issue with the idea of John McCain being a maverick. He took the word and threw it back over and over, citing examples of McCain not being a maverick. Gov. Palin, wisely, never used the word again. Hopefully, American will never hear the word again from McCain or Palin.

Alas, like most diet plans, this one too only works for a short while!

I thought Senator Biden proved to be the strongest Vice-Presidential candidate. He spoke with determination and emotion that you could feel and knew he was being sincere. He answered the questions thoroughly and with the answers, in my opinion, most americans wanted to hear. He definitley has a plan in place that would allow me to feel confident with him in the white house. Governor Palin on the other hand talk a lot but really didn't say that much. She seemed very vauge on every question and rebuttal that was asked of her. She really only seemed interested in talking about the energy crisis. I'm not sure if she's aware, but there's other pressing issues that America is dealing with besides the energy crisis. I don't believe she would make a good V.P. America wants answers and solutions to our problems. Not someone who is going to beat around the bush and avoid what is crucial to maintaing our way of life in this great country.

That a girl Sarah, you made me proud and hopeful. American need a realist in the Oval Office, we need someone who's ideas will never hurt the american public. I'm a believer of fact-based debating. I felt that Biden based much of his argument on facts rather than a rehearsed set of answer that Palin overly relied on. Palin did not seem to want to answer certain questions. At one point, she even stated she was not going to answer that question. She seemed best equipped to handle questions about energy and how Biden and Obama voted in 2005. Last I checked, it was 2008. Long-story short – the idea of Palin as a member of the Executive Branch scares me beyond words.

I watched the VP debate last night, and was truly horrified by Gov. Sarah Palin! She came across as an ignorant redneck, with all of her, "gosh darns", and "heck yeahs". In addition, all the cute looks, and winks that seem to have captivated the media are extremely inappropriate for the job she's interviewing for. Furthermore, any mother with 5 children, one being a special needs infant, has no business spending as much time away from her children,(even if Dad is around full time) that would be required if she got the job. She should be ashamed of herself. If America votes the McCain/Palin ticket, we will be worse off than we have been with Bush! GOD HELP AMERICA!!!

Last night debate attempted to show the people of America which VP candiate can lead this country in the event the President is unable to lead. I was not convinced that Governor Sarah Palin had the experience or political background to lead America in that event.

Senator Joe Biden showed me that he is ready and able to step in and lead to take America to new heights and give the people a since of calm and security by following the plans of Obama for change.

Both were good. However I'm tired of people trying to use the excuse Palin is a woman. She can do as good as Biden. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin refused to answer Ifill's questions, instead going back over and over again to a topic with which she feels more familiar (energy policy). How many times did she repeat the phrase "greed and corruption on Wall Street" and the term "Maverick?" I felt like I was watching the beating of a dead horse on live television.

The only reason she's getting any positive feedback is because she managed to avoid looking like a complete bumbling idiot like she did on the Couric interview.

Biden, on the other hand, exhibited a breadth and depth of knowledge on a wide range of topics that comes from experience and thoughtfulness. He actually answered the questions and provided reasoned responses, and, when necessary, dragged Palin's attention back to the issues at hand – without being condescending.

Was America actually watching the same debate that I saw? I saw and heard words coming out of Sarah Palin's mouth, yet she still managed to say nothing meaningful. I am an average American woman (a soccer mom) and she does not represent me or my concerns in the least. Just because she managed to string two words together in a sentence, does not make her qualified to be our next Vice-President.

As for her supporters, Sarah was simply preaching to her choir and they chose to sing along.

You know Palin keeps talking about "Soccer Moms" and "Hockey Moms" What about the double dutch moms "inner city moms?" Last time I checked there were no hockey moms and "Joe Six Packs" in the inner cities! She's not concerned with getting the african american vote she's only concerned with white america. Same ole republican nonsense!

Honestly this is the first vice Presidental debate I have watched. I wanted to see if Gov Palin could hold her own and I was THRILLED with the way she handled "old politics"! Nothing against Biden and it is not a "woman thing", I was impressed with her ability to relate to the everyday American! I think that although Palin had a "folky" attitude that appealed to a lot of people, she only said a few things that appealed to voters. I think that she was told what to say so that she wouldn't have to think for herself. In my opinion, anyone can deliver lines but only Joe Biden can be a REAL Vice President.

The "debate" reminded me of a sports team that plays against a team that is not as good.. The team plays down to the poorer team's level. I really think the general public is giving Sara Palin a raw deal concerning her 'performance' in last nights' debate. I believe she may have been 'over coached', but I find her take on government refreshing. If she had been able to be more herself, I believe she would have come across to the country as the strong and educated woman she is. All you need to do is view her sass and sting in the Alaska Governor debate. She made her points clearly and with the style she should be allowed to share in the Presidential race.

Palin's folksy talk seemed really hokey to me and turned me off to any message she may have been trying to get across. I did notice that she spent a lot of time not answering questions but trying to be cutesy and "aw shucks" so the public would let it slide. And as someone has already mentioned previously, I also noticed she can't pronounce nuclear any better than Bush does. None of this indicates to me that she's qualified for anything more than a spot on a PTA somewhere; how she ever became governor is a mystery to me.

"You betcha" and "Joe Six-pack" are cute expressions (if you really are disconnected with the common population and are trying to make yourself seem like you know them), but when you are sitting across from a foreign national with the faith of the U.S. at hand, that cutesy and happy-smiley stuff isn't gonna fly.

Governor Palin’s refusal to answer questions, her inability to anything other than follow a scripted message tells me that this person is not ready for the office of Vice President. McCain and Palin claim to be mavericks, what the debate showed is that they are willing to do anything to win. That isn’t maverick, that’s just more greasy politics.

In my state as in many others, well educated taxpayers with years of knowledge and experience are being laid off by the hundreds every day only to find that the market is so flooded with unemployment that they must compete for even the simplest job. Try paying bills on unemployment benefits. I don't beleive that Govenor Palin or McCain have a clue about what it really feel like to send out hundreds of resumes or go on interviews with 150 people competing for one $9.00 and hr job. Neither cute winks, references to "6 pack Joe" or "Soccer Moms" will solve the mess that George Bush has gotten us into so instead of a "Maverick" who has stood side by side with the Bush administration and the "Soccer Mom in lipstick" I'll have to vote for the ticket that will actually work for ME..... Palin was looking great and young. Biden was must of been worried about the great and young looking Palin because his lifeless expressions on his face was a sure sign of alot of Botox. I was not sure if I was looking a Biden or Kenny Rogers face.

The reason people are going to vote for her is because she's a mother of 5 children. She kept saying she's like the average american family. I struggle everyday. All I heard was regurgitated party rhetoric. Training camp worked. Palin crammed in whatever they wanted her to address and she stuck to it. Does she just do what she's told or does she really have a brain! I don't want cute and folksy in the White House, I want honest, knowledgeable, assured, and skilled negotiators there.

In light of the McCain/Palin tax credit as a pretend healthcare plan, I would like to see if the reason Palin's daughter is waiting to marry her baby daddy is so that Sarah's State of Alaska heath insurance can pay for the birth. And then after the birth, will they be able to get married if neither has a job which provides affordable health insurance? Or will they join the throngs of other young people who cannot be married bc they can't get insurance? Kids who get caught by a pregnancy don't have the ability to earn enough money to be able to pay rent, buy food and neccessities, and have insurance. Not to mention daycare. An unmarried mom (many times with the baby daddy living undeclared with her) qualifies for rent subsidies, food subsidies, medicaid for kids (and herself if she is pregnant), child care subsidies and other such programs. She can't afford to be marries. I would like for someone to dare ask Sarah and John how they can justify this? Would Sarah like to see her daughter living like this?

I came away not knowing what Sen. Biden believed or would do as second in command of our government. It caused me to change my vote. I will go with McCain/Palin in November now.

Well, once again I have been insulted and disrespected by the Republicans! First, they intimated that Palin was the VP choice, so that the woman supporting Hillary Clinton had a woman to vote for. Am I so dumb that I only vote for candidates based on gender, or race, or whatever. I actually understand the issues and am waiting to hear what candidates have to say. Second, I am a hard working middle class person who does not drink beer or attend hockey games, so if they want to make me feel like I am "just like them", or better yet, "they're just like me", they need to do a better job. I watched the Biden/Palin debate last night and while it did not turn out to be the epic battle it was hyped up to be it definately solidified my decison of who I will be voting for. Palin may be a capable and effective govenor, but she is not even close to being a heart beat away from the presidency of the United States. Her Joe six pack approach and folksy talk was annoying. I also hated her occational little wink, how trashy is that. Palin seemed to avoid answering most of the questions and kept referring to the Maverick ticket. Several time I had to shake my head to make sure I really heard what she said, babble, babble, babble. As a life long Republican, a Desert Storm veteran and a retired member of the USAF I am here to say I will be voting for the Obama/Biden ticket. We need to right this ship and more of the same is not the change we need. Wake up America this is our chance to send a message that we really care about our country. I thought both VP candidates did well, but I can't get past the fake, shallow smiles of both Biden and Obama in their debate performances. They both come across as typical politicians...easily swayed and saying the same old political rhetoric. Palin and McCain both come across as genuine people and deeply motivated to reform political waste in Washington. They seem trustworthy and their past performances in politics seem to prove them so. What’s the BIG Deal? So, Palin spoke well. Obviously she should. She has been rehearsing since joining the ticket. It was her moment, her night. But, what did she really say? Absolutely nothing! A high-level overview with finger pointing that didn’t provide solutions to issues is not what I call being informed. Not answering questions and continuously addressing issues that she was comfortable in does not make her great. It was simply a soccer mom’s performance. So with that, yes, she did as well as expected. But, when debating a force such as Biden, there was no comparison and if it wasn’t for the ticket, she NEVER should have been on the same stage. She was out matched, out witted and offers nothing for our country.
So when does a cute face with a great smile win an election? This is NOT a beauty pageant? She’s a heartbeat from the Presidency! So, I caution all of you Soccer Moms – There’s a place for Palin and it is not in Washington! Maybe motivational speaking is her calling.

I really can't believe what I see and hear at times when people actually think that Sarah Palin is ready for the Whitehouse. She does NOT impress me or most people I speak with so I really wonder who these supporters are. She is an intermediate level politician at best and what she did in Alaska was more stepping in Moose crap than anything else. Some times you have to use the KISS method. Keep it simple stupid. Look at the facts. She is a bible thumping creationist and proud of it. That in itself should concern anyone with thought capacity. SNL just made the best case against her with the skit they did in reference to her interview with Katie Couric. It is so annoying to hear her repeat the same propaganda over and over. I have constantly heard that Sarah Palin is not experienced, yet if you check her track record as Governor, she has done a great job! However, she came up with the ideas doesn't matter, she has accomplished what was necessary to improve her state with the priority being the residents of Alaska. Can the American people not see how this would benefit the nation? I think this is what Sarah Palin was trying to get aross last night and she did a great job. Joe Biden is extremely boring! I still believe in the old saying "You do not have to be that smart if you surround yourself with smart people." The presidential staff has enough advisers to research every topic and find viable solutions, but you must have a person that has the will and interest of the American people as their priority to choose the best solution that is presented which I think Sarah Palin and John McCain would do. Wake up America! You wanted a candidate that would put us first and when McCain left the campaign to go to Washington to vote on the bailout which is noted as a major crisis, then everyone reacted negatively by focusing on the fact that he may not be at the debate with Obama. Everyone needs to make up their mind what they really want.. Biden made the comment about one of the things we need to consider is how to bail out people who are losing their homes. That's great if you give a person a new loan, but how are they supposed to pay for it if they have lost their job? So I stand with Sarah Palin regarding the tax breaks for the corporations so they can do more hiring and prosper since it trickles down to us. I have been told that my job will end in November. I don't need a bailout on my home.....I need a new job!

But the political analyist warned us that if she came to a question she did not have an answer to, then she should remind us of her "fire-cracker" spirit, and her "newness". Perhaps a little too new! She has NO knowledge of Supreme Court cases other than Roe-v-Wade!!!! And you would think that after the Couric interview, she would have done her homework! How dumb does she think the American people are??? Palin kept saying that "Joe six pack" was worried that if he had money invested in the stock market he would take a loss, or that he would lose his childs college fund or that his business would go under.. WAKE UP PALIN-- I have NO stocks! I have NO college fund! I DO NOT own my own business!!!

Gov Palin proved she is unable to follow directions even to the point of telling the moderator she would answer questions as she wanted and not as she, Biden or the America people expected her to. She also proved that she is not a team player, but rather a sarcastic want a- be. She had her own questions and answers, and skirted around the debate questions just as John McCain does constantly. I found this to be dis-reapectful to the moderator, the organizer's of the debate, and especially to the American people and the world. Anyone can stand and read prepared material. An insult to women was to keep winking and being "cute" and "girlish". This is a very serious time in our country, we are not sitting on a bar stool or standing on a corner trying to advertise our wares. Senator Joe Biden was gracious, calm, strong in his facts, and showed his ability to govern greatly. He won the debate and was not trying to scheme or to be phony. I cannot imagine Palin in Washington, or speaking to foreign leaders, diplomats, etc. I think she proved that she is just as dangerous as John McCain. There is much still hidden with this person that's why they are keeping her "low" and away from the media and the people. She has really had a "free pass" in this campaign. Thanks

I, as do other women, believe there had to be another "Woman" that the Republican Party could have chosen that was as intelligent as we are. Sarah was good! After all the long hard work rehearsings/preparing for the debate she deserves an academy award asa good actress. I did that in college- rehearsed for days and hours. The results were people standing and applauding. We all can perform. Unfortunately Sarah's performance will see the curtains come down because her
acting is one thing and performance in another. She does not and can not perform for all of citizens of the USA (except as an actor). She certainly can not perform even as an actor on an international level at all! She has native AK people acrosss the waters from Russia who have never seen her but she claims experience with the security of Ak and the USA. Tell her to go back home and be a wife and a good mother (to her children that is!) FROM ONE WOMAN TO ANOTHER!!!

I still do not want someone who was virtually "incoherent" just last week to represent my country with dignitaries and vote to break ties in the Senate on issues she clearly does not understand. The folksy approach fooled a lot of people when George W. Bush employed it. Who continues to fall for this now that we have seen through it to the ill-equipped heart of the person employing it once again? She wasn't ready last week, is no more ready this week and will not be ready next month or next year. I do not believe she came across well-spoken or knowledgeable last night. She did better than expected which only tells me that she was well-coached. That is not enough to qualify her for the position of V.P. of the United States of America.

Debate or Campaign?That should be the headline. I thought this was suppose to be a debate. Palin sounded like she was still campaigning instead of answering the questions, She did a good job of avoiding the questions she couldn't answer, and twisting things away from the real subject.. When did she talk to us plainly about any policy that was relative to this election. She was more concerned at attacking Obama and Biden. Gov. Palin obviously prepared to answer a small, specific set of questions. Whenever she couldn't answer the question asked, se either switched one of the prepared answers or spouted unrelated slogans. If she answered the questions rather than skirting them with her " AW Shucks folks" attitude, maybe we could have found out where she ,and the GOP, stood on the issues. I have never heard someone talk so much and say so little in my life. If America thinks that "Palin" won this debate, we are in some serious trouble.

If any American voter out there seriously believes for one second that a McCain-Palin administration will solve ANY of our problems, whether they be foriegn or domestic, you are sadly decieved.
The WHOLE Republican campaign has been run like a 4th Grade field trip, similar to the illegal War In Iraq. These people in power are the political decendants of the same Right-Wing Hawks who got us into the global conflicts and mires back in the 40's and 50's that we're still in today. We helped the Shah of Iran flee, we invaded Korea and Vietnam, we sent Richard Helms to Iran as U.S. Amabassador, we propped up Saddam, Noriega, Qhadafi and many more like them all in the name of satisfying the Military-Industrial Complex's ill-concieved concept of "limited conflict", which was created by one Gen. Edward G. Lansdale. Think about it for a minute; after Truman bombed Japan, the powers that be knew that war could never be allowed to progress to that intensity again or the whole ball game would be over.
However, that spelled the end of arms manufacturing which has been our number one source of revenue since its conception.
A compromise had to be reached. Arms needed to be manufactured to keep the corporations going to keep revenue flowing. For arms to sell there had to be armed conflict, or at least the fear of it. There's the operative word: FEAR. Sen. Biden was correct in saying that one who ignores the past knows nothing of the present.
Remember Eisenhower's warning upon his leaving office; "beware of the steadily gaining influence of the Military-Industrial Complex in matters foriegn and domestic. We must never let these influences endager our liberties, or our freedoms". Ominious warning! Right there is where the blame rests for nearly all of the trouble in the world today; The U.S. Military-Industrial-Media-Legal-Educational-Medical-Religious Complex. You have to be on this earth awhile before you begin to see how things are really wired up. Im 55 and have travelled the world extensively over my long career as an entertainer. While the rest of the world loves our technical, cultural and artistic accomplishments and the ideals of political, religious and economic freedom, they despise our form of Fascist Government, which has been visibly n power since 11-22-63. You can be an "F" student so because you bring your grade up to a "D-", you are now qualified to run a country. That is so lame of all that is seriuosly thinking about that woman as a Vice President. Now, for those of you that like the Palin/McCain ticket because you do not want to vote an African America, that will be more understanding and honest, but to waste everyone's time saying that the very inexperience lady should hold the second highest office in the country is just totally insane. Did no one else watch the same debate? How anyone can say that Biden only won with 51% is crazy! He won by much more than that! We cannot measure Palin’s performance (and I say that, because it is apparent that she is a rehearsed act) by her past performances only, and then give her a cookie for being better than her Katie Couric interview. This lady doesn’t know hardly any of the serious topics of government that are dealt with on a daily basis. If voted our VP, our country will certainly be worse off. Especially if she ended up our president. She would be ‘a puppet’, saying what was spoon fed to her. If we look at her background we can see that. She was a sports caster on TV, and a pageant contestant. She knows scripted material! On most issues, she did not clearly answer the questions. Biden clearly knew the facts on a variety of different subjects, even what the role of a vice president should be, based on the constitution. When he began talking about Israel, it was obvious that Palin was lost on the details. Did no one see how she would take facts from Biden after his answer. I’m positive that if she had gone first on answering these topics, that she would not have had the same answers or substance, and we would be hearing is a “I’ll just have to get back to you on that!” She did however, give Tina Fey, some very good material to work with. I personally am ashamed that she is even a candidate for VP. As a woman, and an educated individual, hearing her speak makes me think I’m watching a Redneck comedy special. There certainly is a place and time for her cutesy catchphrase lingo, but as VP there is no place for that. She should be refined! Translation and communication throughout the world is delicate enough. We do not need to insult ourselves on a global level with "you betcha's"! I mean seriously, there was no better choice for McCain than Palin??? Are you kidding me? Even Hillary Clinton is in a different league than Palin. In the end, I hope people are not fooled into feeling like they can relate to Palin. Biden is a clear, strong, informed VP candidate, and along side Obama, would be a strong, balanced team in the oval office. McCain and Palin bring “more of the same and little change”. I am a 52-year-old workingwoman, labor union representative and have spent my entire adult work life fighting for the middle class in this country. I was insulted by Sara Palin’s winking at me through the camera last night. Does she think that by winking at me I will somehow believe that she has gained a higher level of worldly understanding and that I now cannot see how unqualified she is for the office of Vice President? I would also ask the citizens of this country to think seriously about this “Joe six-pack” mentality. Isn’t that what we have had for the last seven years? (Remember “bring it on”), look where it has gotten us… Since when did it become OK for the United States of America to be lead by mediocre? I was more comfortable with Biden than with Palin. She is extremely combative, was clearly coached on issues and if questioning went deeper she would not have a clue. I also felt Palin is very controlling and has absolutely no polish needed to deal with other countries. Biden was composed and knew what he was talking about from experience not coaching. This election is very serious for America and as with the bailout, we need to get it right. The McCain/Palin ticket is a poor choice to do what needs to be done.

Biden did very well on answering the questions asked and knows what he is talking about on the issues presented. Palin on the other hand dodged questions and didn't answer the ones she had not been rehersed to answer. And if Hillary Clinton would of been standing in Joe's place, she wouldn't have stood for all of Sarah's ducking,and hemming and hawing,She would have had her for lunch. But Palin got lucky with Joe not wanting to look like a macho man, instead he was the diplomat he needed to be.

Come on folks...Palin is NOT prepared to be VP. She might benefit from "on the job training" if she is "so fortunate and so blessed" to be our VP, but she is not at all prepared NOW. How embarrassing for America. Biden is a competent professional. He attacked McCain and wouldnt give Palin the benefit of his attack in the debate, which was absolutely brilliant. He covered the issues, demonstrated his experience, and provided confidence in the Obama-Biden ticket. Palin failed miserably and left the burden of justifying the McCain-Palin ticket to McCain alone. She is no help at all. An empty suit wont help anyone, including all of us US citizens. Nice lady, but NOT prepared to be VP.

Answer: YES! America needs a person that can answer the serious and complex questions we are and/or will face. If you cannot do that, then you are not ready to lead our country and represent us as a super-power. I think Biden won hands down, just listen to the content of his answers! I think Palin performed better than most people expected she would. However, her answers were lacked the iceberg substance (showing depth, knowledge and wisdom) we need to see in our leaders. At this time, our country is struggling to recover from grave financial, political, and terrorist, crisis, / threats. Last night was her opportunity to demonstrate her critical thinking skills and demonstrate how she planned to deal with some of our nations /worlds most serious issues – as a world leader and I did not see her do that. She gave surface answers and/or avoided the question(s). Most of the time I felt as if I were listening to an info-commercial – not what I wanted to see or hear. I’m sure she is a nice person but we need a serious thinker and leader as the VP!!

So, from a local, average person’s perspective who is greatly concerned about the condition of our country, I think Biden won and looked presidential!

However, this Joe six pack would rather hear someone speak on the issues especially during this critical economic time. I think Sara Palin skirted around majority of the issues which left me a bit confused. I don't think America needs a cutesy little so called just like me wannabe in the White House 2nd in command leading this country it is a recipe for disaster. Obviously you are a Palin fan. Why don't you pass on the advice you gave to Kathy to Sara Palin. Just because she did "OK" last night being that the expectation were very low to begin with ,let us not forget about the Couric interviews where she stuck her foot in her mouth several times by not knowing the facts.

I am sick and tired of watching Palin acting like she is the Queen. She didn't look at Biden last night and the look on her face and her actions were that she was by far more important than anybody else. She needs to go back to Alaska and stay there.

Let's discuss the facts on these politicians, first both parties talk about the middle-class and the suffering of such class, but do they even understand the actual suffrage of the middle-class, no they cannot. At this time the national unemployment is at an all time high 7.2 percent per CNN broadcast. The average income of middle class family of is about 50K, and with the rising cost of healthcare, food and fuel costs, not to mention the necessities of childcare for those families that are 2 income, how can the middle class make those ends meet? The answer is that we, the middle class have all but scarificed our first-born children to make it. And the puny stimilus check that was provided was nothing more than an insult to us the middle-class. Shortly after receiving the stimuli for the middle-class, those on public assistance, which we as the middle class pay for, were issued a stimuli rebate.. WTH.. As a middle class homeowner, we are asked to fund the taxes that afford our communities with services, such as trash removal, schools, and other functions that are necessary for the quality of life in our communities, our backs bear the burdens of some many, but yet we receive so little support from those that have some much to give, rather they pocket and amass more wealth, by tax incentives that allow them to cut their resposibilities to healthcare premuniums, allowsthem to claim further tax abatements, and even allows them(upper class) to out source jobs to foreign countries. When was the last time you spoke to an American (no accent) telecommunication operator about your credit card bill? Most of them capitol 1, or Mastercard for example have out sourced to India, cheaper labor and no/little health benefits.

With the recent exposure of the Wall St scandal/market failure we now are to feel empathy for CEO's and CCO's that gave a darn for the little man. It smells like Regan agenda all over again... Not the throw out old news, but if either of parties want to make "CHANGE" then the first few key issues tha need addressing are the following;

1-The widening abyss between the haves, and the have nots...
Middle-class is only distingushed by the ability to be sued and have garnished paychecks, thus becoming the new poor.

2-The return of jobs and careers to America, no out sourcing to foreign countries.

3- Affordable National healthcare for American citizens... and I said American citizens.

4- Increasing the funding for the VA administration which will allow the resources to be more apparent for those that have served in the military.

5- Revamping the entire Educational school system nation wide, so that we can compete with foreign countries for the job market.

6- Reduction of special-interests and lobbyists that affect and impede the congress and house with their riders and attachments to bills that will actually support the people.

7- No benefits for couples that are of homosexual lifestyle that co-habitate, or that allow same-sex marriages. Those benefits are for heterosexual married couples.

8- Equal availability for college loans to American citizens, reduction of student-work visas that allow foreigners to milk the educational grants and send them home to their familes, which in turn allows them send for the rest of their familes and pay no taxes/ or very little.

9- A tax credit to the middle-class for "relief" under current administration, and to jump start the failing economy.

10- Foreign policy immediate withdrawl from oversea, closing our borders and withdrawl from being the World's policeman, rather we must focus on America, from the rebuilding of our infrastructure, housing, homelessness, ability to grow our own foods, tightening our borders and re-enforcing our military with state/national guard strengthening. Mandating a must serve-policy that will reduce our national crime rates, provide an ethically rounded citizen that will be productive, ready to weork and serve his/her country. Focusing on exporting rather than importation of goods and technology. Retooling our agricultural programs for our farmers, providing them with tax cuts that will increase productivity, while reducing crop costs, which means less for the consumer at the market.

What I felt wasn't answered in this debate was; If Joe Bidden has been in congress for over thirty years, why hadn't he been an outstanding spokesman before the savings and loan, wall street, and energy problems? We've had energy problems since 1973, where was his protection of main street needs there? On the other hand, Sara Palin has attempted, and succeeded in protecting main street with in her limited exposure. I feel she would be more in tune to the needs of our country than a man who has enjoyed the richness of Washington for so many years.

The VP debate and the Canadian English Language debate were on TV at the exact same time last night. So I did the best thing, and watched sports.

Canadian debates are a little nutty, since we have FIVE leaders at a table talking. Which is why I usually ignore them. Just too much crosstalk.

"McCain who? Let's talk about Alaska!"

Palin hardly ever mentioned policy specifics, and when she did it was on long rants about Alaska! Who cares about Alaska! It is in the middle of nowhere. Issues affecting Alaska do not pertain to issues affecting the mainland. She talked about herself far too much and generalized everything else about what McCain will bring to the office without providing specifics.
Biden included specifics backing every McCain attack and more importantly provided specifics about Obama's policy initiatives. He kept his attack on McCain, not Palin. Biden knocked her out, and people saw that. He looked capable of being president. The notion of Palin being president on the other hand, would be scary and totally above her capabilities. If people do not notice that, then God help us!

Story: A poll taken after the October 2 Vice Presidential Debate in the small town of Alpine, Texas, by the respected Roper Group reveal that men in the Trans-Pecos area of Texas prefer Governor Palin over Senator Biden. When questioned after the debate at the World Famous Beer and Wine Bar, The Railroad Blues, Governor Palin won the votes of 74% (plus or minus 2%) of the patrons.

The men polled were given a series of scientifically selected questions to determine their preferences. The most telling question was: "Who or what would you choose to spend a Sunday afternoon with? (A) a six pack of Shiner Bock beer, (B) any Houston Texans game, (C) Joseph Biden, or (D) Sarah Palin in a thong bikini?" Overwhelmingly, the choice was Sarah Palin. The six pack came in second and Senator Biden inched out the Houston Texans.

After polling interviews revealed the thinking of these men voters. Alex Night stated, "I have always thought she was hot. Even when she was a mayor." Bert Smedley, a resident of close by Fort Davis, Texas, stated that he like her because she knew her way around firarms and hunting. "She might shoot a lawyer or two while she is Vice President but at least we will know it was on purpose," stated Smedley. Palin did a good job of reciting from her briefing book, repeatedly going back to points she was told she had to make; whereas Biden seemed prepared to answer any question by being able to think on his feet. He was comfortable with his knowledge and experience. He knows the record; he knows the issues because he's been there. Palin apparently doesn't even read about national issues, so she only knows what she's been told. One thing that really irritates me about Palin is she completely denies any weakness. The candidates were asked about their weaknesses, but Palin focused only on her so-called strengths. A true leader knows where they are weak just as well as where they are strong. Pretending you have no weaknesses isn't authentic, it's a sign of someone who has a lot of growing up to do.

Why have rules if we cannot follow them? What does this say to our young people? At the highest level in our Country, we are above the rules? If we all decided we would just say, gee gosh, I don't wanna follow rules, so darn it, i'll just go out and do what I want. I'm going to make up my own. That kind of thinking has our prisons overcrowded. In the next debates, I hope that the candidates will be required to answer the questions that are asked and not be allowed to do whatever it is that they want to do.

The catch phrases, the high pitched voice, the hill billy language and demeanor, how can anyone take 4 years of this. I would listen to a continuous recording of Gibert Godfrey. And Oh yeah, stupidity. I never want to hear the word Maverick again in my life. Intelligence is a requirement to hold the highest office in the country, maverick and fighting is the way that bullies and iliterates conduct business.

Palin came off as small-minded. There are more people in this country than hockey moms and joe beer bellys. This is not descript of the average american. What about the rest of us?

It is surprising that someone wrote about Obama having connections to Jeremiah Wright as if he could have any control over what another man speaks. After this man spoke, Obama voiced his diagreement and cut ties with him. She wants everyone to be so caught up in she's a mom, she has women's values. A real woman, unlike the mom image of one that she tries to sell, would have felt Senator Biden's real pain when speaking about his son. She was COLD and non caring. Biden has spoken about his family some, like all candidates, but no one has gone to such extremes to exploit a kid like Palin. We are sick of hearing about how she was such a hero just for continuing to carry a child, that is, if she TRULY is the one who carried it.

She and McCain are changing positions once again, trying to find something, ANYTHING to get votes. When she was introduced to the public, she came out with a FULL ATTACK against Senator Obama. Pointing fingers and telling lies, and they have never let up. She pointed fingers last night and every time Biden answered questions regarding our economics, she yelled out "don't look back and point fingers". Our economic situation is not the past. Guess they just don't get it. She is NOT Reagan, and She cannot take us back to the last time a republican did not completely mess up the White House.
Since he has not be our GREATEST president, when she keeps quoting him, she just looks like a copy-cat fool.

I too had noticed that she calls everyone else by his/her title and calls Senator Obama, Barak. Why?? Obama is always respectful and uses their titles.

The Article might read: Sleeping Beauty and the Troll. While Obama was graduating from Harvard and was ACTIVELY working to get jobs for people, which we need most, she was asleep at one of the 5 or 6 colleges that she had to struggle through to get a journalism bachelors degree.

NEITHER MCCAIN OR PALIN CAN TELL WHAT THEY WILL DO, THEY CAN ONLY FIND FAULT IN WHAT PLAN OBAMA AND BID HAVE. AT LEAST THEY HAVE DONE HARD WORK AND MADE THE BEST EFFORT TOWARDS DEVELOPING A PLAN TO HELP THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

The McCain/Palin ticket speaks so much in detail about family. I have seen several pictures of hockey mom's kids with alcoholic beverages, in compromising positions and when was the date for Bristol's wedding? Dog-gone-it you thought we forgot. Why didn't she send a shout out to that? And When they speak about the John McCain's character, why don't they elaborate more on the poor disabled woman who he left for the young heiress who stole drugs to support her habit? Seems they get younger and younger while he gets older. plans to leave this one in the White House. This woman has been away from home too long already, because her daughters are boozing, toting guns and having iligitimate kids. There is so much that a "Dude" can handle. After all, he has dogs to race.

Sarah Palin was very good at reciting her rehearsed talking points, even interjecting them when they didn't even apply. All talk, no substance.

Last night's debate was another example of why Sarah Palin should not be considered for the second highest office in our nation. Instead of asking the questions she was asked by the moderator, she simply repeated the sound bites that she had been coached to say. I found her mannerisms to be condescending and fake. Joe Biden showed us what we already knew-that he is knowledgeable, competent, well-qualified and prepared for the job. As 'understudy for the President', the Vice President needs to be just as qualified to be President.

Why are people so concerned about whether Palin is qualified to be president should something happen to McCain???

is she saying also that retreating our troops to refocus and allow Iraq to govern it's own people,,, is a "white flag" of surrender? to me that is very dis-respectful of our troops coming home, just like what happened to our Vietnam Veterans... to say we failed?? that is not the case, it's a matter of re-thinking our priorities. we have to respect that some cultures are very different than ours,, though we should work with the UN in standing against genocide,, and to capture the ones responsible for 9/11

I think if your going to be coached you should at least act like you thought of this on your own. Biden answered every question and from what i've seen pretty honest. Palin on the other hand, confused the hell out of both me and my wife. Thank God for DVR because that rewind function to hear the question that she was supposed to be answering came in handy. Yeah she sounded intelligent when she spoke, but if the questions were linked to here response, maybe Both my wife and I would feel safer with her decision to send tax cuts bill to mother nature for every hurricane she sends through the gulf instead of FEMA to aide the victims, oh wait I forgot at unless the middle class can hit the jackpot, and actually get money to support your local emergency responders, because remember they too have huge bills to pay too and cutting taxes for for the rich doesn't make things easier on the middle class who pay the same thing no matter what you say or do, which that money goes to Programs such as FEMA, that now have to give a Percentage Stupid executives who said they are innocent they need atleast $10 million dollars to pay for their mortgages and another tax break so they can maitain their status as top tier citizens of the United States. Senator McCain and Gov. Palin are what this country needs. Both McCain and Palin have they expertise and I would feel safer with McCain as President with all the turmoil in the world and Gov. Palin has experience and will get rid of wasteful spending in Washington as she has done in Alaska.
Also why doesn't CNN and the rest of the media just report the news and not be so bias. Let the people actually make the decision of who they want to be President and Vice President. Why do they all try to make the point that McCain will be same as Bush. Are you your father, I doubt it, and also what would you have done if you were President and the attack of 9/11 happened while you were in office. No one knows until they walk in the other person's shoes.

I would love to know why CNN thinks it is important to go to foriegn countrys and get the peoples opioion on who should be our next president. I don't care what thier opionion is. If they told me we should vote of obama, I would vote for McCain and vs versa. Report on what we here in America want for the United States .

Put lipstick on a Democrat and you still have a whining bunch of people wanting handouts. My values and beliefs are what I will use when I vote Nov 4th. Palin did a yeoman's job while Biden just attacked George Bush. When will the Democrats tell the world they want a socialistic state and what that will mean to "Joe 6-pack" down the road? With a Democratic controlled Congress we can't afford a Democratic President. It wasn't good when it was all Republican control either. We need the balance.

She's becoming an embarrassment to Alaskans. Most of us had no idea that she's so unsophisticated, unintelligent, and undiplomatic. The level of her irrogance is astonishing. Doesn't she realize that Americans deserve better than what she can deliver? It's hard for me to believe that her pretty face and fake Fargo accent are buying her votes. Since when did we start accepting "hockey mom" status, "PTA membership", and "union employee" as qualified credentials for the vice presidency?! Are we really that desperate?!

I think the last 8 years under a Republican President have been bad. BUT, do the people even think about things that happened in our government pre the last 8 years. Everything is trickle down effect, basically inherited from previous administrations. Be it Republican or Democrat. The debate last night was exciting. Full kudos to Mrs. Palin. She talked to the most important people, middle class America. My vote for McCain and Palin is assured.
