Your response to the man in Michigan that lost his job only goes to show how out of touch you people that have 6,7,and 8 digit incomes are with the majority of Americans. The news media belongs to the rich.

We are a "middle class" family who have just recently built our new dream home in the past few years. At the time, we were in great shape. It seems that as each year goes by, we get in worse shape. I just worry for my childrens future. What will they have if this economy continues on this path. The rich get richer and the middleclass pay for it all. Inflation causes everything we need to survive to rise, however, wages are not keeping up at all. And the Bailout, forget it. I am ready to give up on our economy. We actually have been discussing moving out of the country.

Is it because Sarahs a good looking woman,,,,,she has to be twice as smart as the ugly politicians,,, hmmm seems like

My wife and I have been trying to help our son save his house. On Wednesday when he tried to make his payment (30 fdays past due) the lender, Wells Fargo told him it would be better for both of them if he just walked away or took a short sale on the home. They claimed that they would get reimbursed for the loss through the Bailout Plan that will pass today. Is this how the plan is supposed to work? He loses his home and ruins his credit and then the Government buys the loan from the Bank so they lose nothing? Help the homeowner not the bank. Give homeowners a one time get out of foreclosure free pass by erasing the late payments adjust the interest rates to fixed market rates and let these people live in a house not under a bridge!

to me, this picture tells many stories of lifetimes, dreams, family and the evolution of an economic way of life. this art, it is so layered with thoughts. the american dream of a father/mother wanting to provide a better life for their children. the division of wealth and power, poverty... celebrating "labor day" when jobs are being outsourced to other countries, for their cheaper labor, world trade, (is it really fair trade?), economics... what about "made in the usa?" buying usa made (remember when wal-mart sold only usa products)... our farms disappearing... I had an elderly man, an old farmer ask me what i thought it was going to take to turn the economy around, (sly guy was trying to see who i was going to vote for!) i told him that i thought no president can do it, i told him it was people that had to do it, that we needed to go back when communities/towns depended on and helped each other, growing, buying, producing locally, to reexamine what the real american dream is, what a family is. he smiled.... (i also told him i'd like to meet the guy who invented the pay scale and kick him! he laughed...).... i do not believe tax-payers of mid to low income should have to bail out wall street and the people that profited from stocks... we are already over-burdened, tired... i was self-employed for thirty years, no stocks for retirement, i received a brain injury from an accident, and now my wife works for our income,, ( i worked over 60+ hours a week to manage our household) which she had a hard job raising our children when they were little..., the poor, low-income, to mid-income families have not profited, as much as the people that have/had money to gamble with,, and did profit from the game of stocks,, it's gambling like any other chance game.. to raise tax on the wealthy makes sense to me,, since they were the ones to really play at the market of chance, the stock market.. they were the ones able to put money in and sell, and profit, as if it was also a business, no one would bail my business out if i failed.. in a way, a metaphor,, to have a slum landlord for years making rent profit from a sub-standard housing that has been paid for, only to rehab it, to kick out the one who should have benefited from the renewal, the poor person, elderly, that lived there for many years, paying on that dwelling then to try to find a place to live, because now it is trendy to live in a certain area. not that i am against rehabbing a community,, but that is a key word, a community, of mixed diversity. helping one and another,, sharing wealth, compassion, charity... I believe if we were more concerned with our own local economics of life, we would not be in such a mess. people need to realize to live within their own ecological needs.. we have grown so, so accustom to acsesses, that one does not no how to live with little.. so much panic,,, over what, big companies that exploit the poor,, we use to pay,,lets say $25 for a pair of shoes that were made in US by a person making $10 an hour, yet that job was sent overseas where the company now maybe pays the worker $10 a month, stock-holders profit, workers slave, world econmics do not work... it is still a wrong type of system, the rich get richer, the poor turn the wheels ... is it the reason for so much backlash from foreign countries? they feel our capitalism is our religion, the way we take advantage of a culture that was living within it's own ways and means... We need to rexamine how a comunity of life is.... we need to live within our basic eclogical needs, to be a comunity that grows, produces and purchases locally and responsibility... indignious nations have done this for centuries, living as a family.. to live within what is needed,, and to share what is left....doesn't the president even think that bailing these companies will make things even worse for the taxpayer? has he taken in consideration all the losses that will be filled on IRS forms that americans have been hit with by the damages of storms across the US?? Bush wants to give the money with no restrictions saying some companies will not take part of it then?? boo-hoo george.... and mccain wants to post-pone the debate because of the crisis, how many "hours" will it take , my gawd... move it to washington then,, i want to hear what these two candiates have to say,, more than the "attack" ads... art by artist "Swoon"

Timothy Cannon   October 3rd, 2008 9:29 am ET

palin refuses to answer nothing but her own questions... as a pervious business owner,, her interview was terrible as applying for "job" of VP... biden laid out points. also ,palin did not respond to mccain's health care cost,, it will kill people in being taxed,, your heath care benefit..
Where has chaney been in all this economic mess?

Doug   October 3rd, 2008 10:44 am ET

Great, thanks for bringing this up again Robin. I asked a couple questions but Writer never got around to answering them. I was just wondering what comes with a continental breakfast and if the cups are washed so we can put our coffee in them at breakfast. Also, what kind of clothes do we have to wear? I watched the "podcast" and you didn't say anything about that. I don’t have a suit but if I stay off the tv is something like what you'd wear to a store ok? I think it'd be fun to see what goes on in a real tv show. Anyway I think you do a great job so thanks a lot. Same to all your workers, they do good work too.

Nancy Regalia   October 3rd, 2008 12:42 pm ET

I would like to see our next president to think of the USA before any other county. Everyone should pay into Social Security no matter what they make or who they are. We need to stop funding everyone who comes into the US and have everything given to them. No body should be exempt from paying in what they owe. Too many middle income families are working more then two jobs to make ends meet. We should not be bailing out the rich they knew what they were doing and now we should have to pay for their mistakes, I don't think so.

Tammi   October 7th, 2008 11:15 pm ET

I was a part of the first Morning Express tour, and I must say it was a lot of fun. The best part of course was meeting Robin and watching the news cast from the floor. Controlled chaos is the best way to discribe what goes on behind the scenes. I have a much greater appreciation for the whole Morning Express Team, from those who work so hard behind the scenes to those who we get to see everyday. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication.

It is no wonder that America is panicing and has no confidence in the economy- we cannot trust any of the politicians or the executives in big business. The politicians and executives do not have to worry about their mortgage payments, living pay check to pay check, or putting food on the table. It is immoral and disgusting to hear the executives that made millions of dollars at AIG and took leisure trips on the American people while the rest of us can barely make enough to stay in our homes. The government must come up with a plan to cap executive salaries at all levels. The government is the biggest offender- government workers make twice as much as someone in the public sector and they do less work. Something has got to change and we need a leader that will step in and make the change. Unfortunately, that leader wants to get paid the big bucks and doesn't want to hurt his friends in congress that make the big bucks. No one is helping the middle class and it is going to take another depression for government to learn a harsh lesson. I think the big executives that took millions should have to give back part of their salaries to help bail out the companies. Then they might think twice about their decisions. Cut their pay first before laying off workers.

Good Morning and thank you for havng our tour come through yesterday. My mom had flown in that morning from Hawaii and not being familiar with Atlanta, we got lost THREE times! Fortunately, we made it with 2 minutes to spare. Goodness gracious.
I am a long time watcher, in fact on your first day on CNN, I wondered what CNN was thinking. How can someone young and upbeat sell the news and give the viewer confidence? You certainly didn't look like Walter Cronkite! It didn't take long to warm up to your delivery and enjoy your personality. Certainly unique for news programming..

My mom had a great time. She said your were prettier in person...which I thought was strange because MXP comes on at midnight in Hawaii! I had no idea that she had even seen the show. We hit the aquarium after the MXP tour and got on the road ahead of Atlanta traffic.

OBTW, Ga gas was $2.89 while it's $3.09 in Moody, Alabama. Have a wonderful day and thanks again for having us and being so sweet.

Would love to just throw myself at Robins feet and worship her. She is a "Total Package" of brains and beauty. Keep up the good work Robin and CNN can thank you for their morning viewers.

Just saw your short piece on the tv about renters who have lost their homes because of the landlord. Well, that just makes me feel so much better-NOT. I am one of those people who have gone away for the winter [first time trying to live as a SNOWBIRD] come back -early- to find those same ugly LOCKS on my home and have no access. Sure the details are interesting but the rent was paid but I still dont have a place to live-No Homeless shelter in our area. [single, disabled, christian women] Can the landlord take over your possessions? ARRRGGG!

Laurie   February 20th, 2009 9:17 am ET

I lost my job in june, catholic school closed-low enrollment and cut off from funding... Got another job in july, cashier in small town grocery. Had gotten behind on rent for lot in which my OWN trailor sits. Paid all back rent and started my journey as a first time snowbird. Came back early on family business to find locks on my trailor doors and have no access to my belongings. Foreclosure? Lost Business? I dont know what is going on but I cant get into my own home and its winter out there. I have NOT abandoned my home in this mobile home community and thats the only thing they tell me if I dont pay more. what?
