Everyone should buy electric or airpowered cars, and tell the lying oil companies to stick it.

brad alexander   June 27th, 2008 6:56 am ET

Robin, I read your comment about your dog, and I feel so sorry for you. We have a beagel that is our baby, so I can relate. I once ran over one of our dogs myself, and thought I would never recover. Years later I still see those final pictures in my mind. Hang in there, it gets better, I promise.

David   June 27th, 2008 7:05 am ET

I'm excited about this blog!

The "Morning, Sunshine. Let's blog" clip was cute, and it got me thinking: A more general "Morning, Sunshine" audio clip would make an excellent Windows Start-up sound, rather than generic default sound.

...and if you also added other clips, like you saying "Oops!" it would make a much better error alert. Just a thought. I realize you must be awfully busy. That would make coming to work (and leaving you on TV at home) so much easier!

And I'm so sorry about Lexa.

Hi Robin,

I just read your morning email. I am so sorry about the loss of Lexa. :( I remember seeing her in one of your podcasts. My brother just lost his faithful dog, Max, 2 weeks ago to cancer. I'm sure your Lexa got more love from you and your husband than most dog lovers and that you won't forget her.

take care,

Eugene

Robin,
I'm in full agreement with all the candidates who want our troops back
from Iraq. Why should the Iraqies have all the fun dodging bullets and
bombs. Let's get some of that over here. Don't people know that's
why we teach Marines to hit targets at 1000 yards? The further from
us, that the action is happening, the better.

Linda   June 27th, 2008 7:53 am ET

Hi , and good morning sunshine, I love this idea. It is so easy.

Abby - from Alabama   June 27th, 2008 8:25 am ET

Hi Robin and Crew! I love the show and watch every morning before I head off to work. I wanted to send a word of sympathy... I'm so sorry to hear about Lexa. I had my last dog, Einstein, for 17 years. My parents bought him for me when I was 5 and he passed when I was 22. They become just like members of the family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your husband.

Beau Bowlin   June 27th, 2008 8:28 am ET

Good Morning Sunshine,
(I always wanted to say that to you!)
I had an idea. I know that when you go into a break you play music from well know bands, such as Weezer, Springsteen, etc. I was thinking that Morning Express with Robin Meade could have unsigned bands send in their originals to be played at the break? Then have viewers select the 10 best originals to be put on a c.d. to be sold on line with your other merchandise with the proceeds going to a charity. I was thinking something for animals or for Wounded Warriors. ( like myself, I'm a huge animal lover) This does two things, One, it helps the show reach out to a broader viewers ship because if I sent in a tape of an original song, I would be listening every morning, and second it helps out a good cause. Maybe even have one of the ten bands come to Atlanta to play on one of your podcasts? (I'm diggin the podcast, by the way) or have them send in a video of them doing their song? What do you think? Just an idea.
Love the show; watch it every morning. Keep up the good work.

Your faithful viewer,
Lawrence "Beau" Bowlin

JoAnne   June 27th, 2008 8:40 am ET

Robin, I'm so sorry to hear of Lexa's passing. I have lost dear canine companions. It is devastating. The rainbow bridge has helped me and I hope it will give you some peace at this tryiing time. Love you. http://rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm

Edsel Johnson   June 27th, 2008 8:43 am ET

Hi Robin and Crew. I love your show and watch it frequently however, I wish the ads were less lengthy and I find myself switching channels back and forth, missing your news items at times. Ed P.S. I realize they are needed, regardless ......

Alison   June 27th, 2008 8:49 am ET

Bless your heart, our prayers go out to you and your family as you grieve for Lexa.

Huge fans.....Funny side note.....we took our 13 year old daugher to Savannah the other week, the first morning we woke up at the hotel the TV went on, there you we! Our daughter said (who loves you) " I don't know what I would have done if I couldn't have seen Robin this morning!" The number one concern on vacation!!

Laura Ekart   June 27th, 2008 8:59 am ET

I found this poem that is how I feel about your dog. So sorry for your loss.

A 'SPECIAL PLACE'
You have a special place Dear Lord
that I know you'll always keep
A special place reserved for dogs
when they quietly fall asleep
With large and airy kennels
and a yard for hiding bones
With maybe a little babbling creek
that chatters over stones.
With wide green fields and flowers
for those who never knew
about running freely under
Your sky of perfect blue.
Lord,I know You keep this Special Place
And so to you I Pray,
For one Special german shepherd
Who quietly died today
She was full of strength & love
and so very, very wise.
The puppy look she once had
Had long since left her eyes.
She is dearly missed my Lord
By a very good friend of mine.
She went to join her ancestors
To Your land that is Devine
So, speak to Crimmy softly please
And give her a warm hello.
She's a Special gift to you Dear Lord
From Brenda, who loved her so.

dewitt hayes   June 27th, 2008 9:05 am ET

How come you get so many vacation days?

L. Gale   June 27th, 2008 9:06 am ET

Hi Robin,
Sorry about Lexa :( , our 16 yr old dachsund died last Saturday, she was like my little child. On a happier note.....my hubby and I love your show every morning you are such a beautiful and happy lady!!!!

Bill   June 27th, 2008 9:15 am ET

ROBIN – WILL YOU MARRY ME?

Joe Smart   June 27th, 2008 9:21 am ET

Great idea, sorry about your dog. Want a toy poodle puppy? We just had 2 born last week. Down here in Texas, we only have 36 days until football starts. Yea!

Charlie   June 27th, 2008 9:26 am ET

Robin, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog passing away. I had a dog for 16 years when I was growing up and know how much a part of the family they become. Keep up the good work and thanks for being such a breath of fresh air on TV.

Carliss Williams   June 27th, 2008 9:30 am ET

Hi Robin,
So Sorry to hear about Lexa,
I recently saw the pictures of your beautiful dogs in OK Magazine
I lost a small toy poodle and dont think, I could not bear another loss he was so much like family, keep your chin up and love Rocco and keep Lexa's memory in your heart.

I love the new blog it is just what we needed now we feel like we can access your Morning Express 24/7.

Way to go Morning Express
P.S. Wish we could insert a picture.

Connie   June 27th, 2008 9:39 am ET

I'm so sorry to hear about Lexa. My 2 cats are my children, & I can't even think about something happening to them. Animals love unconditionally, & all they ask in return is to be taken care of....too bad humans don't do likewise....it would be a nicer world. I know ya'll will find peace & comfort in your wonderful memories of Lexa...she was a beautiful dog. I saw her pic in the magazine a while back, as well as on the podcast. And you are certainly correct, WE are the lucky ones to have precious animals be a part of our families & love us.

Matt   June 27th, 2008 9:43 am ET

Good Morning Sunshine,

I opened my daily e-mail from you Robin and my heart sank....I'm so sorry for the loss of Lexa. It's the tough losing a pet, they are part of your family, part of you. They give unconditional love everyday, even if you're having the worst day, you come home and they're right there, wagging their tails, ears perked up, just wanting to take all your troubles away and to lose him or her is devastating...Again I'm very sorry Robin...

Ruzevaldo Lima   June 27th, 2008 9:46 am ET

Hi, Lady Robin.

Sorry about Lexa.
Great idea for creating this blog, so it can keep us closer everyday.
Thank you and team for keeping me up dated what is going on in our
Earth planet.
Thank you, also, for your radiant and contagious smile!!! It really let me
happy!!!
Have a nice weekend.

Terry Myers   June 27th, 2008 9:46 am ET

Robin
I bought a brand new 1980 Datsun 510 that had a Nissan 4 cylinder engine with 8 spark plugs.( i belive this was one of the last years that Datsun made cars) This car got 45 miles to the gallon on the hi-way. If they could build a car that would get that kind of milage then why can't thay do it now?

Larry White   June 27th, 2008 10:05 am ET

Robin:
Sorry to hear about Lexa. We lost our much-loved Aussie (Australian Shepherd), Norman a few years ago, and it still hurts. Love the ideal of the Morning Express Blog.

Amy Burnell   June 27th, 2008 10:15 am ET

Hi All!

Love your show.....kinda disappointed when I need to switch stations for a local update....but I don't stay there for long!

Robin....so sorry for losing Lexa. I have 3 Great Pyrenees....big spoiled-rotten babies...and I'm afraid we'll be down to 2 shorlty. Give Rocco a hug for me....and get an extra one for yourself from hubby.

Bob....when ya' gonna' bring everyone to Syracuse for a road-trip (or plane-trip)?! (Central New York has always been home for me. I currently live about 20 minutes East of Syracuse in Chittenango.....home of OzFest/OzStravaganza!)

TTFN!

Jim   June 27th, 2008 10:16 am ET

Robin,
Just watched the video your showing about the Levee brake on the Missouri river with the fire being set. You stated "not sure why the fire". I'm thinking this is a very effective "signal fire" to warn people in the area of the levee brake. Good idea!

Steve   June 27th, 2008 10:16 am ET

I have loved and lost many dogs... everyone of them a family member. Few dogs are as sharp, intelligent, and empathetic as a german shepherd. The link between person and canine is deep, and I feel your loss – with every dog lost, may room for two more blossom in our hearts. Feel better.

Vance Allred   June 27th, 2008 10:26 am ET

Good Morning Sunshine!
Love to watch you in the morning. I couldn't find out where to vote for the gun ruling. I wish the Supreme Court would have voted on this years ago. All law abideing citizens should have the right to bear arms. It is a fact that gun ban laws do not work. America has stood all these years because of this freedom. Thank You Vance Allred!

Jim Hoskins   June 27th, 2008 10:35 am ET

Robin,

So very sorry to hear about Lexa's passing. My heart goes out to you and your family. I just wanted to say thank you for all that you do for us every day. Maybe one day there will be something all of us fans can do for you to thank you for waking us all up with a smile every day. Try to get some rest and recooperate this weekend...

Jim

Seth   June 27th, 2008 10:43 am ET

How lovely, I feel like everybody else.

Diane   June 27th, 2008 11:25 am ET

So sorry to hear about your german shepherd, Lexa. People who tell you it was "just a dog" really don't understand the unconditional love that dogs freely give to people. I am a red and blue heeler person. I have loved and lost three of them, but find the breed to be so loyal and intelligent and look forward to the next one. I have been married 37 years and tell people that if anything happens to my husband, I'm just going to get a good dog! Love your morning show – you and your team are a fixture at our house – sprinkling a little sunshine back at you!

Rene'   June 27th, 2008 11:57 am ET

Good morning!!

I just wanted to say "Thanks" for waking me up in a great way every morning. You make my day start out on the right foot and believe me it gets me through the day. Thanks to Robin, Bob, Richard, Rafer and Jennifer. Also to Larry and Ray when Rafer is out!! Oh and Bonnie!! Sorry to hear about your dog's passing. My heart goes out to you. Have a great weekend and I look forward to reading this blog!!

JulieEv   June 27th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

Hey There Robin,

So sorry to hear about Lexa. I've got dogs and cats, who are my Kids.
Tough time, I know.
One a lighter note...I was wearing the Morning Express T-Shirt, on a recent trip to Puerto Rico. I was asked at each airport, Ontario, Ca.,
DFW and San Juan, about the T-shirt. Felt kinda special that day. Hope that makes your day a little better. Love the show, Podcast and all off Robin and Company....Keep up the GREAT work.

Terry Chapman   June 27th, 2008 3:06 pm ET

Hey Robin-so sorry about Lexa. My Zoe is 12 now–60 lb. Briard–her partner in crime Monty the Terror is 1 1/2-11 lb. Yorkie (yes I said 11 lb!!)–I lost a wonderful Cockapoo years ago to cancer–words can't even express the hole in your heart right now, I know.

We LOVE you here in OHIO–but I guess you know that!!

Keep up the good work and please try to keep Van Dillen in line-love that Lui-what a cutie!! Poet here, I guess.

Terry

Craig   June 27th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

Dear Ms. Mead,

I know you and your family are doing your best to cope. People say that animals are like your kids and are one of the family. I have 2 cats one boy and one female. I tell people we have 2 fur kids...
I watch your show in the morning with my wife and 2 cats at 6am.
Remember there are more loving dogs out there that need a terrific home like yours and Tim. And Rocco is a great dog that I am sure misses Lexa.
I enjoy your show and the crew. I get your email every morning and enjoy the podcasts. Congrats on your flying.
Fly south to the panhandle of Florida to the best beaches.

Tari W.   June 27th, 2008 4:25 pm ET

Robin: You were smiling this week, but somehow ; I just knew you were going through something painfully difficult. I was so saddened to hear of the loss of your faithful Lexa. It seems so unfair to lose our beloved pets, when they should have happy and healthy years left to share their wonderful souls with us. Only someone who has experienced this loss, can truly understand. I hope those "SUITS" at CNN are not giving you any added grief. You take all the time you need to gieve and heal! Take care of yourself, your fans will be waiting for you. You do us "OHIO" girls PROUD! Extra hugs to Rocco. I'm crying with you.

KCLisa   June 27th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

So sorry to hear about Lexa. My family had to put down our 17-year old mutt "Boomer" 2-years ago. He was a cherished member of our family. My son and husband couldn't bear to be there, so I had the "honor" of being with him and seeing him off to "doggie heaven". One of the hardest things I've ever had to do. To this day, I look for him leaping into the air with total excitement, as I pull my car into the garage at the end of the day. One of a kind. Lexa will always be a part of your family.

Thanks for getting my mornings started! You and the team really help me to get "in the mood" for my day! Kansas City loves ya!

Scott Anderson   June 27th, 2008 6:54 pm ET

Jonathan Alvarez   June 28th, 2008 9:16 pm ET

Robin sorry to hear about the loss of your dog, I know what is it like to lose a four legged friend. Our previous golden retriever, Rocky, died of a twisted stomach and we were all very sadden by the whole thing,.

Anyway, love your show and keep up the good work. By the way, you are a very attractive woman.

seth   June 29th, 2008 1:59 pm ET

yes we all think robin is very attractive.

but isn't it so horrible that model jumped from her building in new york? aweful.

sam   June 29th, 2008 10:35 pm ET

so sorry to hear about Lexa's dying. I hope you will quickly be able to
hold on and get on with your life.

I am another person that lost a beloved pet to cancer. My "3 foot daughter" was my best friend. It was the hardest task I ever performed when I buried her. It happened 10 years ago and I still miss her......I am so sorry for you. My deepest sympathies.
